Our house was built in 1969 and had the original cinder block chimney, which was so unstable it was barely being held together. I was referred to Steve by one of the roofing companies I was getting bids from for a roof replacement. Steve came out and gave us a very reasonable estimate to rebuild the chimney from the roof line up, install a cap and provided us with a list of twenty brick styles to choose from. That was the hardest part for me! Lisa answered my questions, provided me with a few photos and we ultimately went with the Pacific Handmold brick, which complements our new black roof beautifully! Since we haven't used our fireplace in over 20 years, I asked if she could recommend someone to come out and inspect our chimney. She made a note to have our flue and damper checked on the day of installation and there was no extra charge to do this for me. Pat explained what they were going to do upon arrival, asked if I had any questions and then got started. The work was completed quickly and as promised, Pat replaced a few cracked tiles in the flue and said the damper looked great. I had my chimney rebuilt mid February 2023, for the initial quote, Steve came out and took a look. Sent me a quote right away and it was cheaper than what I had anticipated. The folks at that his company are top quality and run a business exactly as it should be run. Excellent communication, quality craftsmanship at a reasonable price. I have owned and restored dozens of buildings on the national, state and local historical lists. I have personally performed nearly every type of restoration on every type construction there is. I have done substantial brick work myself when I could not find a quality contractor at the time or wanted to save money. Bottom line, if I would have found these folks earlier in my career (I'm retiring now) I would have used them on every project I had done in the seattle area. The masonry business in the NW is. Dry limited in skilled craftsmen and when you find a good one they are over priced and temperamental and often unreliable. The folks at this company are the complete opposite. They know their craft, run their business the old fashion way, with integrity. I called them on the restoration of my last project and my own home. I could write a couple paragraphs on what they did, but I am saying for brevity, they did a fairly big job in one day, came back twice on time to put in a bird blocker and then waterproofing. All done perfect and on time. We will be building a barn soon and hope to use them regarding a stone fireplace we're planning. Whoever has problem with this company, it's their problem in my opinion and you don't know the whole story. These are old school people that I can't find anymore because they are retired or dead. In August, we signed a contract with Premier Masonry to repair our chimney in Seattle. We signed contracts and agreed on a start data of Sept 19-20. On Sept 19, I received a message that one of their masons had been out sick and they were unable to get to our job that day. They said to give them a day to work out when they could reschedule us. I called as soon as I was able and was told that due to the complexity of our job they would not be able to complete it this fall. She told me it might be better to find a new contractor. I then received an email saying they were withdrawing their bid. They never discussed rescheduling options with me. They never even said "Hey we can do next April". They simply cancelled. Looking at their reviews here, I have a prediction that they will respond to this review with a comment noting that they are a small, family-owned business and they try so hard but gosh golly gee they just couldn't do it. It masks the rudeness of the person who manages their schedule (she was brusque, not understanding, and refused to take any responsibility) and it masks the lack of professionalism that leads a company to sign a contract with a client and then cancel the day before they plan to start. Interestingly they demand a 5% cancellation fee if I cancel but they can cancel (not delay - outright cancel) with no consequences. Getting work done on a house right now in Seattle is tough. There is so much work that contractors and skilled workers can treat their clients as disposable. The only way this changes if is they lose business when they are unreliable. Homeowners, stay away from this business and work with one that honors their commitments. read more

Once he arrived, he took no more than five minutes to sum up the work (some stone repair), offer color suggestions and tell me I would get a call to set up scheduling. I called the next day to find nobody getting the phone. I then noticed the email which had been sent: They are not going to bid on the work. Why would a contractor send so many false impressions during a visit? Why wouldn't someone be up front and honest? These people knew what the work was from the beginning (two months prior) and yet they still felt they should waste a few months of my time. We had Premier Masonry re-point our entire home + chimney this last winter, we bought the home and about a year ago and the inspection showed the mortar was in need of serious repair as the house is 90 years old, and bricks were coming loose from the archways. We got several estimates for the work, when i met Steve he set himself apart from others with his level of honesty, passion and experience working with Masonry, he answered all my questions in detail and followed him and Lisa followed up super quickly to any pre-job questions i had. Premier was on time with their start date, even though from original contact the date was months out due to their schedule being so busy. The crew were super punctual, showed up on time, were super friendly and it was clear that Steve's customer empathy and customer service is passed down to his lead foreman who was super helpful throughout the whole project. I was super impressed with the daily clean-up and respect the crew has for making sure we could still use main entries to the house, in other reviews i read they cleaned-up well every day but until you see how dusty/messy the job is you have no appreciation for how thorough the daily clean-up really is. During the grinding process we had a few of our origial drafty windows letting in dust, the crew was super responsive and ensure to tape the inside jams to ensure the dust didn't penetrate further. They tackled the house one side at a time and and cleaned the brick after pointing each side, the house now looks fantastic with all sides being refreshed to original appearance and mortar strength. They also did a great job on the chimney and installed a cap, so we are super confident with the stability of the large brick chimney we have. Once the job was done Steve came by for a walk-through and addressed any small corrections needed, he even had one of his guys repair a couple firebox joints with black dye'd mortar after me asking about whether i should address it or not, i was so impressed.
