We were running about town and decided to stop in at Bardic Brewing. This was brewery #283 for me. It's a small taproom with a cozy feel to it. Lots of games available and clearly that is what it's aimed at. There was a group of four playing some game they brought with them when we walked in. Stupid Sexy Flanders ale didn't grab me that much and I generally like Flanders ales. I didn't hate it, just didn't love it. Singularity Russian imperial stout had a nice balance of coffee and chocolate flavor. SWPFTD ordered a pint of ISH Irish red ale, which was really good. The Waves of Grain amber ale was solid. I would definitely order this again. Mr Fancy Pants English golden wasn't loved by SWPFTD but I thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed Kane Madness India red ale. Decent hop flavor and a good beer. Epilogue rum barrel fig porter had a whole lot going on. I couldn't decide if I like it or not really. There was a lot of flavor but it worked. It just might have been the fig flavor that had me off a little bit. Bardic is a cool spot. The people were friendly and it would be a fun place to hang out, enjoy a beer, and play a couple games with friends. If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you! I hope my confidence is not misplaced.

Sudden But Inevitable cider... oh so good!

Yay! Bardic is a brewery that makes it's own beer and cider! So Steve and I can try some craft beer and cider all in one stop! Always a good thing there! For Bardic on the beer end we got the Ravenmaster which was a biter beer. It was okay but a type of beer I don't get very often. I thought it was decent but it wasn't exactly up my alley. Things really turned around with cider and I felt it was refreshing, tasty and unique! The Sudden But Inevitable is a herbed spice cider with a hint of bourbon flavor to it. Highly enjoyable and a bit unusual moves Bardic into four star territory. Would love to try more of their ciders!

Okay sooooo the place is super cute. Games and whatnot for families which we enjoy as we have kiddos. I didn't love most of the drinks BUT their oatmeal stout was amazing. However, we did order food and the pizza took one HOUR... and it was super greasy and had a weird sauce.. we were already beyond done with our drinks by then and so hungry so it was a bummer.

A cute little brewer nextdoor. It has the feeling of a small coffee shop. Quint, cozy, and enjoyable. The server was very friendly and welcoming. The beer was very nice! Such good flavor in the dark beer. Unique flavor and high octane.

Excellent service! Good beers and ciders. Also serving snacks and non-alcoholic root beer. Gingy is really spiced apple pie in a glass.

MAD COW REVIEWS: 45 DEGREES…read more Listen up, herd. Mad Cow has wandered into 45 Degrees in Spokane Valley multiple times now, and I feel obligated to report my findings: This place is udderly fantastic. Yes, I know I'm a bull. No, I don't have udders. Don't ruin the joke. 45 Degrees is one of those hidden little Spokane Valley watering holes that you almost don't want to tell people about because then everybody will show up and take your favorite spot at the trough. But I'm telling you anyway. THE BEER: Fabulous. They craft their own beer, and you can tell somebody actually gives a damn about what's going into the glass. There's attention to detail here. This isn't "pour something fizzy in a pint glass and slap a clever name on it" beer. Mad Cow takes his grazing seriously. He takes his beer even more seriously. THE OWNER: Incredible host. Every time I've been in, I've felt welcomed. He's friendly, involved, and clearly cares about the people walking through his door. That's becoming increasingly rare, and it's a big part of what makes this place work. THE FOOD: Yep, there's grub. They have appetizers, they're actually GOOD, and they pair perfectly with sitting around having a beer and absolutely nowhere important to be for the next hour. But here's what I like most about 45 Degrees: The herd. The people I've met here are just good people. It's mellow. It's fun. It's welcoming. Nobody seems particularly interested in who you are, what you do, or whether you arrived in a $90,000 truck or rode in on a tractor. Pull up a chair. Have a beer. Join the herd. That's the vibe. It's tucked a little out of the way, which is probably why more people don't know about it yet. Personally, I think Spokane Valley needs to fix that. So Mad Cow is officially letting the secret out of the barn: Go find 45 Degrees. Have an appetizer. Try the beer. Meet the owner. Talk to the people sitting next to you. Just don't take Mad Cow's seat. There WILL be a stampede. MAD COW RATING: 5 HOOVES UP. Yes, cows only have four. It's that good.

Our server was very busy, handling both the bar and restaurant areas. We all started with appetizers, which we shared. Fried green beans were good, kind of spendy. The onion rings were great and the tarter they came with was nice. The mozzarella sticks were good, the marinara was cold and chunky. For meals, two of us went with their Irish Stew, salad, and absolutely delicious cornbread. Our other friend tried their Burnt End sandwich. She said it was really good. What I really wanted was BBQ turkey, which is on their online menu but not on the menu in the restaurant. It was a good experience and we'll definitely give them another try in the future.

The Mad Cow Reviewer…read more Well, color me udderly impressed! I wandered into McKracken's Irish Pub in Spokane Valley after a long day chewing cud and was greeted with the warmest "moo" of hospitality I've felt in ages. The owner clearly knows how to make everyone--two-legged or four-hooved--feel right at home. Let's start with the Guinness--cold, creamy, and poured with care. It's enough to make a bull tear up with joy (and that's saying something). The Irish stew? Hearty, rich, and packed with flavor. The cornbread is the real surprise--soft, slightly sweet, and perfect for soaking up the last bits of stew. Whoever's in that kitchen deserves a medal--or at least a salt lick of appreciation. They've got WiFi, so you can update your herd on your dining adventures, and the regulars add to that cozy, small-town pub vibe. Karaoke on Fridays is a real treat too--nothing like hearing a few pints in patrons belt out "Don't Stop Believin'" while I hum along in low, soulful moos. All in all, McKracken's is the kind of place that makes you want to settle in, loosen your bell, and stay awhile. Great food, cold beer, friendly faces--what more could a mad cow ask for? -- The Mad Cow Reviewer
