I had the chicken souvlaki, and it was very good. It came with fries. I was hungry and forgot to take a picture, but I didn't forget to pray. It had a lot of flavor and the fries were cooked just how I like them. A little bit of crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, not soggy or overdone. It was the perfect amount of food and the pita was firm where it didnt fall apart and soft enough where it was enjoyable to eat. Good amount of chicken. Clean and spacious inside. Love Lumberbeard. The owner is awesome. Good beers that I've enjoyed every time I've gone in. I haven't tried their food meh other than today when I ordered the Smash. I enjoyed it. It was tasty, the patties were great. Fries had a good seasoning. The space is great. Very large and clean. I went on a Tuesday with a book and enjoyed my beer while reading. When trivia started it overtook the entire room with blaring music and the loud host. If you're not going for trivia, I'd avoid Tuesday evenings. It's too loud to read or even carry conversation with friends. For such a large space, it'd make sense to try to contain trivia to just one area, but hopefully they get busy enough to need the entire space, which I think would be awesome for them! read more

My husband wanted me to try their dark beer that he'd had at a Kendall Yard restaurant. It was a dark Pilsner called DRK SZN Pilsner. We each ordered this Pilsner & then discovered they served food. Yelp Elite hooked us up with lunch at nearby Houston Hot Chicken so I'm taking this opportunity to stop in at Lumberbeard Breeing which I have neglected for far, far too long. Lumberbeard is also my 264th brewery visit! Lumberbeard wasn't too busy on a Sunday afternoon at 1:30 but still had a small crowd. The building and tasting room are nice, clean, and a little hip. For my flight of four I went with the Helles lager first. Nice lager here. The Plumcran Zuff is a kettle sour with plum, cranberry, cinnamon, and vanilla. This was not super sour, in fact SWPFTD even had a second and third sip. I like this one which is very fruity with just a little sour. It's more like a slightly sour fruit than a fruity and very sour beer. The Anniversary Ale is a blend of at least one barrel from each previous year of anniversary ale. This was an excellent barley wine. Great flavor from the bourbon barrel that really lasted. Drk Szn Pilsner was not my favorite. It tasted slightly "muddy" undoubtedly from the cacao and coffee. I don't hate it by any means, just not my preference. Lumberbeard is serving up some really good beers. We haven't tried the good but it sounded great and I expect we will be back for lunch soon. Came here today for their last Sunday market. It is a really cool space. Very open and also welcoming. Went to the counter got two beers I got their lumber punk and my boyfriend got the the clean shave saison. Then decided to walk around the little market they had. The lumberpunk was really good light and crisp with great flavors and the saison was good. It had the malts and different notes. Personally I liked the lumberpunk because it was good for an any type of day. We also got a sampler with their sour, amber, Pilsner and their barrel aged. The sour was my favorite because it was tart and crisp. The Pilsner was good and the amber had the malts that you would want. The barrel was strong as you would expect but it was smooth and not overwhelming. It overall was really good. The beer and atmosphere was definitely something you want to go back to. read more

I have nothing but love for Lumberbeard. The space is bright and open and so are the warm inviting smiles from staff like Aaron. The beer is some of the best I have had across the nation. They know hops and so much more. It's in my top 5 breweries of all time. There is so much skill and dedication to their craft here. The staff is friendly and want to help you find a yummy beer that fits your taste buds. They have a large open space with lots of tables. The bar is small though and only seats about 4. They have board games to play and TVs to watch local games. You can bring in food to enjoy with your beer or order in from local places like the near by pizza joint. There is a rumor that they will do some food items of their own eventually. Let's hope this is true, but then look out because it will be packed. They offer wine and some ciders too if everyone in your party isn't a beer lover. I recommend the flights because you get 4 tasty beers to introduce you to their brews. Once you fall in love, pick up some gear. It's the coolest looking around and you'll be wearing it with pride knowing how awesome this place is. Oh my goodness! Lumberbeard is such a great brewery! This brewery was extremely close to the hotel we were staying at. Just around the block. We made it to Spokane twice this past summer which is a record and we went to this brewery on our first trip. We got a couple different beers here. The one where we stayed and sat down I had the Friendly Neighborhood Kolsch. Kolschs are one of those lighter beers I really enjoy during the summer and that's when we were in Spokane. Basically going to eat and drink at places is what we did and not a lot of walking because wild fire smoke was so bad on the entire trip. But Lumberbeard was a great place to spend the extra down time we had. Steve and I enjoyed our beers so much(he got the kolsch too) that we bought cans of their Helles Lager to take back home to Tacoma with us. That beer was fantastic too! Very enjoyable. So light and crisp! Practically everything I look for in a Helles was there. We love the hotel we stayed at in Spokane(stayed there twice now) so it's inevitable we will be back at Lumberbeard. Not only because the beer is great but it's just on the opposite side on the same block. read more

It's a100 degrees out and I can't get ice for my drink? We ordered about $50 in food and beverage for 2 and then were told we can't have ice for the water that is only available at about 80 degrees. Then they want a tip for delivering the food that we ordered off our phones using their suggested method. They never once checked on us after delivering food. They do no interacting with their customers. Service is very lacking. Ice should be available when the restaurant only has 80 degree water available. Food was okay beer was watery. read more

We went here one night and were the only people here! Come on Spokane! This place is AWESOME!!! I was totally shocked since I had been here once before when the place was hopping! I really like it here! I love their beers! Their dark beers are my favorite and the barrel fort and the blacknight? Black light? Did not disappoint! Their fours were also incredible!! I ended up taking home a can of each of them. The service was stellar and Scott was able to talk about all the e beers. They have games and cards so we could play while we drank our beers. They usually have shuffleboard and we're having a large party the next day so had to move it out. I hope we get to play next time we go.They also have a variety of membership options. Since I don't live here I got the monthly one which gave me four free pints, $1 off for four friends, 10% off to go beers and 10% off merchandise all for twenty bucks! Yes please! My only complaint would involve the atmosphere and decor which is really sparse and minimalist. The place looks lovely and I was planning to have a beverage with some friends. However as soon as I sat down with my service animal I was told no dogs were allowed. I asked about service animals and she said "No dogs allowed. But if you're looking for somewhere that is dog friendly, there's Community Pint right down the road." Not only is this a Washington State law that allows animals that aid in a service to be present in public establishments but it's also not located on their website or doors that states no parties that require service animals are allowed in company of their service animal. Sadly I won't be returning because I'm told I can't bring my service animal but I will say the waitress was nice about informing me that my service animal was not allowed in. read more

Interesting place. I like all the space. Looks like it will hold a lot of people. Good size tables and chairs, with room for more. Could use more color than baby blue walls. Kind of feels like a cafeteria or like stepping back into the 40's. Great idea on hanging sound panels. I wish other large roomed places would consider this. They blend well enough you don't notice. I did, because that's how I am. If you haven't noticed by my other posts, I'm a bit detailed. Nice bathrooms, with individual rooms for toilets. And an 8' communal sink. Tile work looks great! Prices aren't bad. $2-3 for a 4oz and $6 for a 12 -16oz pour. For which most are 16oz. Decent list of beers and 2 ciders. Which I'm guessing is subject to change. One suggestion to the owner. If you're not already on it, I would look into roller shades. Summer's coming and its gonna get bright and hot with all of the windows. Check it out. It's a nice addition to our pub scene. Street parking is excellent. Hopefully there is a child curfew. Sound panels or not, the high pitch yell of children's voices, still echos through, making it less enjoyable. read more

I know everyone has different tastes in beer, but I just couldn't find one that I really liked. The others that were with me left with the same feeling and we all like different types of beer. Their beer is really great, crisp, clean and we were really impressed by the beer. And we have been there a few times because their beer is so good. The reason for the four stars and not for the five is because the place is just so sterile feeling and it's not even inviting. There's hardly a thing on the walls and it just feels like four walls with a bunch of chairs. If it wasn't for the great beer, we would really not even enjoy ourselves in there. I just wish that they would do something to make the place feel a little more warm and welcoming. I almost was going to give it three stars because I have to say that the staff is not very welcoming. We have been there twice and once was a female and once was a male in both times they just sat behind the counter on their phones the whole time. One time we were the only people in that place almost the entire time we were there and they never once walked out from behind the counter to ask if we wanted it another beer and they just sat there on their phones like we weren't even there. We had this both times we were there from two different employees. We were quite turned off by that. Having a staff that makes us feel welcome an interacts with us is almost just as important as a quality of the beer and this place did not have that. We will come here again one or two more times but if we feel like they are not interested in having us here, we will probably move on. I really like this place Easy atmosphere. The staff are super friendly. But the best part is that the beer is delicious. You usually don't get a full tap of great beers. The whole lineup good. The stouts are wonderful. The IPAs are tasty, not obnoxious over hopped beers, but really well made IPAs. And the saison is really nice. They have shuffle board and sometimes a food truck. It's a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy an afternoon. And if you've had a few beers and are looking for a quick and easy meal, Dick's is right across the street. Grab a burger and some fries and come back and have another cold, crispy beer. I'm really lookinG forward are to seeing Lumberbeard become a staple of Spokane. Visited here on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. Bartender was wonderful and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the large variety of beers and needed to create an 'extra large flight' to include all I wanted to taste. Yes, I am one of those IPA-people and found two really tasty options. Most notably the Snowbird, hazy, smooth but not too much ETOH like an DIPA. But I loved the food!! Cheeseburger taters and dry rubbed wings were perfect with the beer. I think my only comment is the site is very clean but a little sterile vibe. I tend to enjoy cozy. But despite this I would definitely come back for beer and food! read more
