This has been my go to place off and on for the past 5 years. I love when I am able to schedule with Lisa, the owner because she provides a stellar service. Wendy is also a wonderful person. They are friendly and make sure that you are well taken care of during your visit checking to make sure no ingrown hairs are left behind. I would normally rate this 5-stars if I only went to these two ladies. However, on my last visit, I was stuck with a new girl (a redhead, younger) that I had never seen before. I don't recall her name, but to call her a novice is accurate. Perhaps more training or apprenticeship is required for sugaring for her, but this was very uncomfortable. The amount of pulling, too hot sugar, and left behind hairs wasn't worth the cost. No clean-up provided and it was just all around awkward. The other issue is with re-booking. From a business standpoint, wouldn't you want your receptionist trained upon checking out a client to re-book the client for their next session. This never happens and I am always the one to initiate the re-booking. Due to this, I haven't gone back since August. A bad sugaring and no re-booking bothered me. I do love this business, just not all the time. Last year at Christmas time, each regular client got a mug which was a wonderful token for clients. This place is one of those that only people in the "know" are aware exists. Body sugaring is a natural mix of sugar and other ingredients to create a wax like mixture that is gentler on the skin. Unlike the wax pots at salons they can use the wax again and again the sugaring mixture cannot. The staff is wonderful and really nice! read more

Loved finding a sugaring spot here in ABQ. I've been getting sugared for the past five years in Seattle and can't live without. I can't believe people still get waxed instead of sugaring! I had Wendi and she was so friendly and fabulous. The pricing was reasonable and I will absolutely be back. I wish the website had a bio page. I have been coming to Bare for almost 4 years, I used to have Rebecca do my waxing, but after she left I found Kelli ! (She is wonderful!) Up until today I would have given my 5 stars, because the staff is wonderfully trained and the service has been wonderful... That being said, the past few times I have come in, I've been greeted not by a welcome, but by whispering and gossip. How completely unprofessional for a client to walk in not to a friendly "Hello" but rather gossip about fellow employees and God knows what else. Second, I called in today to change my appointment time, and the rude receptionist (Marissa or Allysa or something) kept me on hold almost 5 minutes before helping me, only to have her tell me Kelli wasn't working there anymore. So I've had Kelli do my waxing for almost 2 years, have been a repeat customer for almost 4, and they couldn't even give me a courtesy phone call to tell me the only person I have seen in the past 2 years no longer works there ? I live almost 45 minutes away from this establishment, so I would have driven 45 minutes only to be told esthetician no longer works there? I would have been STEAMING. Love this place! So glad they have sugaring here in Albuquerque. It is a much slower process than waxing, but I think it is worth it because you aren't left with as many stray hairs.
