I must say, I only write reviews for restaurants . I have never written a review for other types of establishments. We had moved into the area in 2015 and bought some furniture from Suburban Furniture. We had some problems with a chair about 3 years after we had purchased it. We went into the store to see what could be done. There is a guy who works there named Gene. This man went way above and beyond what I would consider normal Customer Service. Long story short he was able to help get my chair fixed for nothing. He had no reason to do this. The chair was long since off warranty. Well. He did it again. Just recently we saw the upholstery on the chair start to have issues. We went into the store just to see what could be done to get it repaired. I was more than willing to pay a few $$ to get it fixed. Gene was there and explained that the chair was discontinued and it might be difficult to get it repaired. But I just got a call from Gene. He was able to locate spare parts through the manufacturer. They are being delivered to my house..FREE OF CHARGE ! My only cost will be to pay the technician to install it. Amazing. I wasn't even asking for this kind of service. So if you ever need furniture, or know someone who does, I cant recommend Suburban Furniture high enough. The entire experience from shopping to purchase to delivery was fine. The customer service is beyond any reasonable expectation. And the furniture is pretty good too. Easy 5 stars. read more

Disgusting sales practices! Nick should be retrained or fired immediately. When a loyal customer comes in, and the items total nearly $10,000.00... you think you would receive 5 star service. I received the complete opposite. When it came time to pay for these items. I asked twice to see a break down of charges. Twice they didn't show me the charges. After running my credit card. I was shown two invoices. The first invoice was correct. The second invoice had each item increased by 25%... yes, increased! When I asked why the prices were higher than what was advertised, Nick explained because I wanted 5 year financing, instead of 6 month financing they had to increase my purchase by 25%. After reviewing Suburban Furniture's advertisement, there is NO reason why my purchase wouldn't qualify for 5 year financing. It can be assumed that Nick, who represents Suburban Furniture, was simply hoping I wouldn't read over my invoice! All they did was waste my time! These sales practices they are using at Suburban are disgusting and possibly illegal. If I didn't read over my bill, they would have without my knowledge charged me 25% more for 1/2 of my purchase. Suburban Furniture is truly the best furniture store you will find. They have an amazing selection, great pricing, and, most of all, the customer service is beyond reproach. I think it important to share a bit of our story to help provide some context behind why we know this. My husband and I decided to purchase a high-quality sectional. We worked with Margot through several visits to finally identify one we loved. The purchasing process and delivery went absolutely fine but, once we had the couch in our home for a relatively short time, we noticed that the fabric was degrading in a way that we didn't feel it should. Considering the amount we spent and the fact we paid extra for a fabric that was meant to stand up to kids, pets, etc., we were very distressed by this situation. Suburban immediately worked with us and went above and beyond to try and get the issue rectified with the manufacturer. Unfortunately, the manufacturer response was ultimately that they would not honor the warranty. Suburban was under no obligation at that point to do anything else. They could have just told us we would have to fight it out with the manufacturer, however, Suburban has chosen to save us frustration and time and take on the task of continuing the fight with the manufacturer themselves. Suburban, under no obligation to accommodate us in any way, immediately offered us three very generous options to choose from in order to rectify the situation. What store do you know would give a full credit for a large purchase that was placed more than 6 months ago. That's right, a FULL credit because they felt that the manufacturer should have abided by their warranty and it wasn't our fault that they were not. Both Margot and Rob, the manager, were incredible throughout the entire process and truly went above and beyond every step of the way. I cannot thank them enough for what they have done. I will not hesitate to purchase from them again in the future and I absolutely recommend that everyone visit them for all their home furnishing needs. You will not be disappointed one bit! read more

My fiancé and I ordered a couch from Suburban Furniture in Randolph on June 2. At the time we were told it would take about 6-8 weeks to arrive. Close to the 8 week mark we were then told due to a back order in fabric it will be about 10-12 weeks. Following the 10-12 week mark it was extended again due to COVID. When the 12 weeks were up we were told our couch would arrive around September 17. On September 17 we still did not hear from anyone at Suburban so I called once again. I called the store and asked to speak with the employee who we have been dealing with. He informed us that our couch still did not even hit production. I am very understanding on COVID however, a line of communication should have been in place from the beginning. We were never notified that our couch ETA was pushed back again. My fiancé and I then went to the store to discuss our options moving forward. We spoke with the manager Rob who allowed us to take a $599 clearance couch as a loaner to have something in the mean time. As we were very grateful for this we were also promised at the least free shipping for all the troubles. We did not hear from the employee who worked with us ever again until our couch was finally at their location. Once we scheduled our delivery, my fiance and I went to the store to see if we can purchase the loaner couch we had. We met with the manager Rob and he tried to sell it to us for $999 when it was originally on clearance for $599!! Ridiculous!! January 15 our beautiful couch was delivered to us. The delivery men were very short and quick to leave our home. My fiancé asked for copies of our warranty or receipt and nothing was provided other than the small pamphlet on the couch itself. A week later we have now had multiple calls our way dealing with the billing department. A note was never made with the price adjustment. We are now back to square one with issues of communication. I asked to speak to the owner and manager and conveniently they are both off for a few days. We ordered the rest of our furniture from Ashley's Furniture and will continue to only use them. We will never be shopping at Suburban again. They do not stand for their customers, they do not communicate with their customers and they do not work with any situations that their third parties have caused. read more

I think most of us tend to write a review when we dislike a place, to warn people away (as I wish someone had done when I thought to get my teeth aligners from a horrible company called "Alignerco" before doing what I should have done in the firstplace and going with Invisalign). But I digress, I bought a sofa and loveseat at this store. While not the cheapest, the diligence of the people who work there was like the type of service you "used to get" years ago, when people were civil - and not surly as they are today. My loveseat came with a broken leg. I wasn't too happy. Luckily I had gotten items that were in stock (the nearly 1 year wait for furniture that was not in stock was just too long for me). That same day, a few hours later, the broken loveseat was removed and a new one in its place . The movers scuffed the front door during the removal of this piece but the sales manager offered to have someone come fix the door. While I would have preferred the movers hadn't scuffed the door, that is good customer service. But what really won the day for me was when I found the items I had bought elsewhere at a lower price. I emailed customer service evidence of the lower price, and while I was told their policy (which in the day of massive online purchases, including most furniture, is outdated) the manager said he would give me nearly all of the refund I had requested. *That alone* was worth a positive review. I can only hope they'll continue such service in the future. read more

This is by far the best furniture store I have ever purchased from. I bought a sectional from them five years ago and my kids are very hard on it and they have always come through with customer service with helping me in any area I needed. Today I received another sectional for a different room. Within five minutes of the delivery men leaving, my son managed to pop out one of the connectors. I called the store to see if maybe the delivery people could come back. Instead, the manager drove to my house within an hour and fixed it for me himself. I went to this store on Black Friday because they had free delivery and free sales tax offers as well as some great deals on sectionals. Let me start by saying my furniture is awesome and the price was good. This review is directly related to my sales person, Marie. When I arrived at the store, she seemed friendly enough and greeted us. I prefer to shop without a sales person but she kept following up with us. At first it seemed nice but eventually it got to the point that I felt like she thought as a young person I was either there to steal something or waste her time. When I made my selection of a sectional, chair and rug, I went to find her since she greeted us. A sales person is a sales person, right? Wrong. From the beginning I should have known something was up when Marie started totaling my ticket and I asked why she wrote down delivery and sales tax when it was free that day and she gave me a rude answer. But I stuck with Marie. She asked if I wanted to take the chair with me. I told her no because I didn't have a car big enough to take it. She said that even though it was a clearance chair, she would throw in delivery with the free couch delivery offer. Great! A week and a half later Marie calls to tell me my couch, chair, and painted piece are in but they are still waiting on the rug. I tell her I received the rug already and I never bought the painted piece. She INSISTED that I bought a painted piece and was waiting on the rug. We went back and forth over what my order was about 3 times before she decided she had to get off the phone with me to check the order. Upon calling back she confirmed what I had told her originally. Then she asked me when I was going to pick up the chair. I told her than I specifically said at the time of purchase that I couldn't take the chair with me and she offered to include it in the couch delivery. She said she didn't know what I was talking about because the ticket said pick up on it. I explained to her I wouldn't have bought the chair of I had to pick it up. She yet again says she will call me back. Calling me back now for the third time she says that I paid $99 for delivery of the couch and if I wanted the chair delivered that I would have to pay extra. I told her that if I paid $99 for delivery then she charged me for something she was not supposed to AND was asking for more money. She said she would call me back. Being the third call I told her I needed to speak with her supervisor. She wouldn't put her supervisor on the phone and insisted to call me back. Eventually she disappeared from the phone and came back to include the delivery of the chair. After all of this I asked for the dimensions of the couch and in a rude tone she said she didn't know and to find out she would have to walk ALLLLLL the way to the couch to measure it. Continuing my horrible experience, Marie neglected to tell me that the delivery company wouldn't call until after 6pm the day before. She just said the day before. So I had movers on hold waiting to find out the schedule of the furniture people. And when I called to ask at 4pm the day before why I hadn't been contacted, the woman (not Marie) spoke to me like I was the idiot for not knowing their after 6pm policy. Why they have to wait until after 6pm to provide a 4 hour window.... I shall never know. read more

This review is for the UltraGuard 10 year Furniture Protection that Suburban Furniture sold me and told me how great the protection was and how easy the claim process is. DO NOT BUY THE FURNITURE STAIN PROTECTION FROM S.F. NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU. We have purchased a few pieces of furniture from S.F. over the past years and on this occasion decided to purchase the Stain Guard at the recommendation of our salesperson "Lisa". I was very apprehensive about buying the stain Protection warranty but I was assured by Lisa that it would be worth it should our couch get any stains on it. I went thru the normal line of questioning about the protection policy and Lisa once again assured me that the policy would cover everything and be easy to use. SHE WAS WRONG. This last time was the final straw that broke the camels back. Time to Yelp! it out ! Ultra Shield will not send anyone out, they will not come and repair or clean it. You are just out of luck. So now we have a stained couch. We purchased this couch on June 1, 2009 and have ATTEMPTED to file three claim for some small "spills" on the couch, the latest one, just recently (2015). All three times the claims have been rejected by the company (Ultra Shield). Their exclusions are too numerous to list. One of their exclusions is "you must know the name of the stain". That is the big one, if you don't know it...CLAIM DENIED. You be the judge, you have been warned. Stay away from Ultra Shield and probably ANY furniture protection package/ warranty. DON'T BELIEVE THE SALESPERSON, THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A HIGH COMMISSION ITEM. read more

Just bought a dining table set here and was very happy with the style and the price. I don't live close enough for same day delivery so I have to wait til next week--I think I can live though. Got the last one in stock, and they wouldn't sell the floor models of anything that is in the current store circular, so I have the sideboard, or server, on order. As long as the delivery holds, I'm pleased so far. Got a really good deal. My BF's bedroom set is from here. I'm glad he recommended we go. The 36-month financing plan is dreamy. Just beware you will have to put down a deposit, which is essentially the sales tax and delivery fee, but they refund it to you. It's complicated but it's a small amount and ultimately saves you a lot of money, so I didn't mind. But they don't mention this up front, so be warned. read more

If I could give zero stars I would, here's why. I ordered furniture in mid-July 2020 and was told to expect, at the worst case, 8 weeks for delivery (9/11/20). As of 10/1, when I personally had to reach out to find out the status, I was told that I could expect my couch in Mid-NOVEMBER(!!!!!!) and basically "too bad, don't know what to tell you". EIGHTEEN WEEKS from the time of the order. When I spoke to the salesman AND manager, I was given attitude about it, and they did not offer me anything, try to help, PROVIDE CUSTOMER SERVICE, etc. All they did was continue to give me attitude and suggest that I should just cancel my order and find the furniture elsewhere (LOL). HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service. Save yourselves the hassle and DO NOT SHOP HERE. read more

Customer service is abysmal. I went there specifically b/c they sold Flexsteel. The first salesman I dealt with never returned my calls. The second placed my custom order & told me the sofa would arrive 6-8 weeks. 9 weeks later I called & was told it was delayed b/c Flexsteel was waiting for enough fabric for two pillows. The sofa was done but they were waiting for two pillows & it would be at least another month. I called Flexsteel directly & was told they had informed Suburban it would be delayed (Suburban never contacted me about this) & that they wouldn't even start making the sofa for another month. I called Suburban back to find out why they'd never informed me the order was delayed & why they'd lied about it being fabricated & sitting in a warehouse. My wife and I have purchased multiple pieces of furniture from Suburban Furniture over the years and that being said,to be treated and spoken to in such a manner is reprehensible, even if I was a prospective new customer. All I asked for was rubber feet that came with the sectional we had bought,and 4 of them were knocked off during delivery.
