Barefoot lawn charges different prices for each type of weed. They have been coming to my home since 2010 and there are so many new weeds that they don't treat. I am done. I told them not to come back. It's a shame that when you get into your 70s and lawn work becomes too much how companies can take advantage of you. If I could give them a zero star rating I would. My experience with Barefoot Lawn has been great over the last couple of years. Our fescue lawn looks so improved and the trees and bushes are thriving under Les' care. There was one concern I had and I discussed it with the manager who sent Tony out to fix. No worries. Easy folks to work with- a pleasure, in fact! When we started we were told that we would be on a regular schedule of service. Multiple times we have had to call to remind them that our home had been missed while they were still servicing all the homes around us. Their response to our complaint was with lack of concern or understanding and they acted as if we were a bother so we'll be using other companies to service our lawn. read more

I was looking online for lawn care. I put my info on their page and while I was sitting at home on off they're techs came to me house and just walked around my property with out and permission or notice. No doorbell, nothing. I called the company and the field manager was argumentative and tried to blame the trespassing on the fact that I asked for info. I told him a tech came out in a car and he got argumentative about that as well. He was interrupting me and yelling. Horrible service, hostile managers. Stay away there are so many better lawn care companies that will actually communicate and not trespass on private property. read more

Paul N. We have been using Barefoot lawn treatment services for a while. We had ant hills in our yard. I assumed that they were fire ants. I applied for the fire ant treatment. The office sent out a tech to apply the treatment. I walked the lawn with the tech when he arrived and showed him the various ant hills. The tech never mentioned that these were "sweet ants" The tech applied a treatment for fire ants when we never had them. This was later confirmed by Scott (Mgr.) who visited our property and within minutes identified the ants as being "sweet ants". That should not be treated. I later called the office to speak to Amanda (office assistant) she was impolite and refused to reimburse the $95.00. Her explanation..."many customers who receive the fire ant treatment as a preventative (for fire ants) which may have been his thought at this time". My responses were why didn't he tell me they were fire ants? why didn't he ask if we wanted the preventive treatment? I would have told him no. I called Scott and requested he contact me because I wanted to discuss this and another issue (below). He never returned my call. On July 25th we received a Fertilizer & Weed Control Application. I paid the invoice. We still have weeds. We have been charged and taken advantage of twice. We should be reimburse for incomplete services. This is far from being good customer service! read more

New to North Carolina I was struggling with my lawn. Then I asked the ppl in my subdivision with the Fancy lawn who the use. They all say barefoot. I tried them & never look back. Horrible customer service and when confronted about only doing 1/2 the yard, lied about the reasons why. It's only our second application and when Lee from Barefoot came to spray the trees and shrubs, he blocked our driveway so my husband had to ask him to move so he could take my son to school. At this point, he only sprayed the front and side, missing the back, and around the property line (as indicated in our file). Instead of finishing the job, he drives off after my husband is gone. I was watching. So I called the company and asked for him to come back to finish the job. I spoke directly to him and he told me that flowering shrubs are not sprayed. But what about the rest? He said that the formulas potency would kill the rest of the other plants. So what am I paying for? A manager came to walk my yard so I can be sure and more clear on what work is going to be done that I am paying for. Turns out, the potency of the formula is not an issue at all. When I asked for the service to be completed l, I was met with a warning that my shrubs and trees will die. Not reassurances, no apology, no customer service. When the service was finally completed, I came home to my yard littered with signs that indicated where they sprayed. 5+ signs is not only rude, condescending, but very unprofessional. I called to cancel the service that night. read more

I wish I could give no star at all. Their chemicals burned my brand new sod. They are continually telling me that it is Heat Stress. Well then, if it was too hot, why did you put the chemical down. My husband specifically asked about it, and you indicated that it would not be a problem. The rest of my lawn was not affected...just the NEW sod that was not yet established. You should have known better. I have been going back and forth with them for months to fix what they destroyed. I keep getting told about the number of years of experience they have and they keep sending me pics of their lawns. Now, I cannot even get an email to them. It keeps getting returned. read more

Everyone from the sales team (e.g. Johnathan Rose) to the technicians (Keith Miller) is totally amazing. I say that in large because they're incredibly friendly, responsive, forthcoming, knowledgeable, and patient. Jonathan was able to identify the specific problems that I had with my turf and he called them out by name in doing so while surveying my lawn. But not only that he was on time for his appointment and allowed me to ask all of the questions that I could think of prior to concluding his survey. What I liked most is that he didn't use any high pressure sales tactics and he told me that my lawn wouldn't require some of the things that I was actually asking for. He concluded by sending me a proposal for a baseline of services that he recommended for lawn maintenance. As for Keith, he hung around after finishing my initial service call on August 31st to type up his notes and to allow time for questions. Like Johnathan he took the time to answer each question that I had and he did so with a smile. What I liked most is that he was forthcoming in telling me that he wasn't able to treat the entirety of my lawn because he didn't have enough chemicals on hand to do so at the time. To that end, he said that I would need to follow up with the office to have someone come back out and finish up the remainder of the job. I appreciated that the most because he very well could've left me to believe that the job had been completed in its entirety and I would've been none the wiser. Moving along, I followed up by speaking with Jessica Mouton on September 1st to schedule a follow up turf service call and to inquire about Keith's recommendations. Like her colleagues before her, Jessica took the time to answer every question that I had and she did so with a smile in her voice and patience throughout. And not only that, she was able to get someone from dispatch to come out today on September 2nd as opposed to next week as originally forecast. With all of that being said, I'm so happy that I decided to go with Barefoot Lawncare vs their competitors in my service area. And on that note, I'd highly recommend that you give them a call too if your lawn needs some professional TLC. read more

We have lived in our house for over 13 years. During that time we have used a number (many) of big name lawn care companies. The last one we had for 3 years and it kept getting worse and worse. In fact, over the 13 years the lawn had never looked that bad. When I asked about the condition and appearance of the lawn I was told it was because our lawn (front and back) are on a hill and they can not do anything about that. Since our slope is nothing new we decided on a change. A friend recommended Barefoot & Associates. Their representative came out, looked at the lawn, and said yes, it could be fixed. It was so bad it would probably take a year to correct it. It has not been a year yet, but with a lot of effort on their part, our lawn has never looked better. There are still a couple of weak spots, but nothing like it was a year ago. I would recommend this company without any reservation. read more
