If you complain, they simply stop coming. I have been a customer of StoneCreek for nearly 3 years. The problem at this company is how you are treated by the owner/manager if you have any question or issue whatsoever. I have reached out to him maybe three times over the years for very simple questions or issues. Every single time I have been met with utter disdain, condescension, and astoundingly nasty treatment. For the cost of this lawn service, there should someone willing to address your issues when something is not right. Not here. Be prepared to be belittled and talked down to, because that is how this business operates. Here is my advice: if you do decide to overpay for this lawn service, please be warned that homes scheduled early in the week take priority over those with service later in the week. For example, I was a Thursday lawn on their schedule which means that I get bumped on Thanksgiving week each year. Totally understandable. But, if the Monday through Wednesday lawns get service Thanksgiving week, wouldn't it make sense to start with the Thursday lawns the next week? Not when management is too lazy to adjust the schedule to accommodate all paying customers. Instead, Monday-Wednesday lawns get another service at the start of the next week because 'people like to get service on the same day' (his exact words when explaining his reasoning). Therefore, Thursday and Friday lawns get the shaft during the peak of leaf season. New fescue grass sprouting all around from seeding in October, then you add piles of wet rotting leaves on top, and get no service for 2 full weeks (or more)? It simply suffocates the new growth every year. Why couldn't he just communicate with M-W clients that they won't receive service on their regular day the week after thanksgiving? Too much to ask, or likely just managerial laziness. And what do I get for asking for the 2nd time in 3 years about this very issue? 'This week will be your last visit.' I pay the same as M-W people, so why should they get service twice before I get one? Instead of addressing my concern, he takes his mower and walks away. No warning, nothing. Simply made the decision to break our agreement and not show up again. I even gave him 2 additional weeks to make it right and to complete the service that I didn't receive in November, or reimburse me for said service. He tells me to stop emailing him and to let it go. In other words, I already have your money and now refuse to provide the service that was paid for. I'm ecstatic about not dealing with this jerk any longer. See for yourself the piles of leaves after 2 weeks and the dead growth from underneath after they finally showed up for their 'last visit'. I paid north of $400/month, nearly $5k/year, always on time, for weekly lawn service. And instead of taking care of a customer with understanding and compassion, he simply refuses to come back. Sad. Too many options out there to deal with this nonsense. Lastly, I'm sure he will come on here and talk about me being mean to him as the reason for not coming back. Mike, if you took care of my issue and stop letting it happen year after year, I will be nice as can be. If you value customer service, stay FAR away from StoneCreek. You have been warned. read more

I am 5 months into my contract with Stone Creek Landscaping and I'm happy with the results so far. Mike, the owner, is very responsive to all queries, even though I pester him with dumb questions because I know nothing about lawn care. I like how he explains what the crews will be doing at the beginning of each month whenever he sends out the monthly invoices. He's also very good at explaining what we should do to ensure our lawn looks great for every season. I got 7-8 quotes for weekly lawn services and I'd say Stone Creek is mid-range/slightly higher than the average in terms of cost. Still, I believe it's great value for what I'm getting. If I could leave negative 5 stars, I would.  Do not give this guy your business.  He's rude, dishonest, arrogant and lacks customer service skills, on many levels. We moved here in 2015 and researched/interviewed 5 landscape companies to do weekly yard maintenance, plus all necessary fertilization, aeration, weed spray treatments, etc. throughout the year. Decided to go with Stone Creek based on price and quality of work.  Our yard has always looked great, and we've never had to lift a finger to maintain it.  The only issue is when we have to interact with Mike. After being loyal customers (including generously tipping the crew for the good work that they do) for almost 7 years, we have put up with attitude, a 14% price increase in 2017, then a 9% increase in 2019, followed by a 13% increase in 2021 (after he refused to even come out to re-assess our yard post-pool installation, which meant less grass).  In his emails he mentions increasing rates to better pay his crews.  When I have talked to some of them in the past, they were unaware of a rate increase and said they did not get raises. Fastforward to 4/1/2022 and he sends an email saying he's increasing prices 20% to 40%.  I ask how much ours will be and he says $500/mo...which is a 43% increase.  He says we are on the high end (actually, it is above the high end) of the increase because we live too far and we are his only client in this area and he does not know why.  [Note, I have spoken to several homeowners in the neighborhood who said they have gotten estimates from him, but he was a jerk, so they said no. So maybe he should do some self-reflection to answer the question of why you have no business out here.] In his email he asked for confirmation by 4/30 if we would stay or not.  We have used this time to attempt to get estimates from other companies, but to no avail as they are booked and cannot come out for at least 6 weeks or more.  We contacted Mike to see if we can have an extra month to decide.  Rudely he says no!  Must decide and sign contract if want to continue! Again, not the way you treat a long-time customer. We continued to try and get other estimates, then two days before end of month, he sends an email notifying us that he has decided we will no longer be his customers because it's too far--so we really had no choice, and he did not even give us until the end of the month like he said.  So, he lied. We sent him a final email letting him know our disappointment and that we would not be recommending his company to anyone. Mysteriously he then replied and said he thought he was "doing us a favor" by parting ways, since he had not heard a final decision (we still had 2 days left), and then attempted to help with a 30-day extension.  NO THANK YOU. Not giving you anymore money. He purposely tried to push us away, again after 7 years of loyalty and tens of thousands of dollars in profit.  That is not how you should treat any customer.  Period.  Especially when it's not the customer's fault that you have no one else in the neighborhood to service and that is your excuse.  Maybe try being nicer. He's a jerk.  Avoid this company at all costs. I will tell everyone I know in the Raleigh area to do so. read more

We bought a home that had no grass, but the entire property was paved and beautifully covered with various types of trees, shrubs, vines and plants. Coming from a large metropolitan city, I had no idea how to care for this gorgeous greenery. I called several local landscaping companies...most didn't return my calls and a few were no-shows. Mike from Stonecreek Landscaping showed up, provided a reasonable quote and said he could start immediately. Over the past year, Mike and his staff of professionals have taken such good care of my yard. He is very attentive to my questions and requests, and is always responsive to my emails and calls. This is a follow up and response on my previous comment of my disappointment of Stone Creek Landscaping. Stone Creek provided a response to my review. I see that Stone Creek said they came by my home over a week later. Problem is, I checked my telephone and I have no telephone call from Stone Creek and no message. I cannot imagine sending someone to my home three times after a week and unannounced. The point here is there was a no show the entire week, although promise was made to provide an estimate. Also, there was no telephone call or message from Stone Creek. During my initial telephone call to Stone Creek and at the request of Mike, I provided my address by text. This means my telephone number was readily available to Stone Creek. The bottom line here is my review is about poor customer service. What is frustrating and disappointing is you should timely advise a potential customer that you cannot do the estimate as promised so that potential customers can find another company. Also, showing up at the home three times with the intent of talking to the potential customer and not calling first is not a good business practice. Hopefully, this review will encourage you to timely telephone your potential customers to update your services and to provide better customer services in the future. read more

We have Stone Creek do all the mowing and upkeep now as it looks so perfect when they maintain the lawn. We also had Stone Creek landscape the side of our yard and around our new screened in porch. This company is completely horrible and careless. They will keep disconnecting you internet carelessly and act like it's not their problem. Even when my internet cord was buried they succeeded at hurting it twice. I would never call this company to do your lawn. Most of the people that work your lawn don't even speak English and act as if they don't know at all what they've done. I've also spoke to the manager or owner and he was rude as ever. They also do a crappy job. Even when I was upset he just matched my level of anger. Which means he has no customer service at all. Don't go here save yourselves.
