I used to love this place because of a lot of choices to choose from. And it was really organized. But I was disappointed when I went to their current location, small and worse parking than the previous one. The store has a lot of boxes and items are way less than before. Selection was somewhat limited but I did manage to walk away with some nice discoveries. Street parking is right in front - store is on the corner of Pico & Robertson. Very convenient. Need last minute pizza carries and Bargian Fair came in clutch! After calling multiple pizza joints ( to see if I could rent or buy one), sams club, Walmart, restaurant depo! Everywhere no one had anything especially within hours. I found Bargain Fair on Yelp called them and they confirmed they had multiple sizes! Came in customer service was amazing! The guy showed me each kind they had! Ended up getting two huge 20x something haha and they fit 10 Costco pizzas (18") along with room for other items. Only thing that was sad, " the parking"! It's street parking or try to park at the gas station and run over really quick! I honestly didn't want to say that but hey I'm not trynna pay $10 for parking! The lots won't let you do pick up or drop off! I tried fam, didn't work! It was a Friday and that whole vicinity is packed! Drove around three times hoping to score a street spot! I rarely ever review a place the same day that I visited but they were just so helpful and friendly! I called in the morning to ask if they carried breading baskets and the lady on the phone was so incredibly lovely. Then, when we came in to purchase the items, there was only 1 left. We needed 4 and Lydia took her time helping us. She even paged two different people to check their back stock. Took a good 10 mins but the guy came back down with everything we needed. Mind you, they were a bit busy so I know other places would have just easily brushed us off and said they didn't have any left. Bargain Fair is my go-to for all my culinary needs & more. They even have things you didn't know you needed! The owner is a true gem as is the staff-- They truly go above & beyond. I was in a big bind and needed a certain type of cup that was out of stock & the owner assured me she would make it happen. Beware Bargain Fair does not honor their products. I bought a beaker for my French Press (plastic) I used my beaker twice and it cracked. I tried to get a replacement and I was accused of dropping. They don't give refunds or offer replacement. The manager & clerk are rude. I was called a liar. The manager (Sheida Pourat) never looked at the defective container. It is not the $ it is the principal. I attached pics of my purchase for $18.93 ++ plastic compared to a French Press for $20++ (Press and a glass beaker)I bought at Koontz Hardware in W. Hollywood. Love the location, but wish it had parking that made loading out easier. Lots of stuff crammed in narrow aisles. Sometimes they give me a pro discount, sometimes they don't, which is frustrating, but especially in the last few visits, they have been extra helpful trying to get me what I need. read more

Sorry , first bad review I've ever written. I had to return a coffee maker because it only made one cup when I thought it was a 12 cup server. I returned it within the alotted time (7 days) but was denied a refund. I had the box and all the parts and the receipt. The person in charge was rude in her refusal to accept the return. She was argumentative and exhibited no manners in her denial. She was belligerent as well. I left the merchandise and my only recourse is to not do business with them again. FINALLY! I found a restaurant supply store that has so many things I've been forced to search for on Amazon or forced to pay too much for at Target, only to not get what I really had in mind. I am most excited about finding single serving, ceramic cups with a pouring lip (for shabu shabu, or any dipping sauce). The point is, this place has real bargain prices for more than cookware, more than restaurant supply, but many household goods and even sweet deals on home décor! You know the story?... when a business thinks they're BEYOND "Customer Service" ??... That because they're the 'go-to' store for restaurant supplies that their customers feel like they have to work for them?? Yea.... I used to have a pretty solid experience at Bargain Fair.. The Original One!... and have provided plenty of business for them from different restaurants.. Was recently @ Bargain Fair (as recent as 2 hours ago); and now that I'm taking full inventory, I find out they shorted me a pretty insulting $179.62 amount of merchandise! When I asked for them to deliver it (and I'm a pretty fair person, if it's my fault. I'll happily admit and solve the problem myself)... their people tried to blame it on the customer and provide a list of excuses * "we got busy" (I was their first, provide customer service to the customer that woke up earlier) * "You changed the quantities"... (yeah, customers do that to allot for our budgets, funny thing though.. the sales person CONFIRMED my quantities that I approved, which doesn't really matter??? because bottom line, there is a major lack of communication between their personnel that hurts the customers) * "you can pick it up.." (Lady, I live & work 1 hour away... you messed up, why should I waste Gas$ and time out of my day to fix your screw up??? does that make any sense to you??) There's several more but I've wasted enough energy and business to the high and mighty Bargain Fair... It's simple, if you messed it up, you fix it. Don't try to Blame your customers to cover your own *uck up. No wonder why the majority of Chefs that I know have been referring to Dish Factory & Restaurant World (has a long standing relationship with your company, they'll provide you even better service) Now I understand their gripe with The Mighty Bargain Fair. Oh my goodness this place is AH-MAZING!! I was tasked with outfitting a Food TV show with all sorts of specific plate ware, display pieces, flatware and glassware. Being from San Diego, I had no idea where to go to get inexpensive, nice looking stuff like that. I was so impressed with this place. I explained when we got there what I had to do, and how best to go about it, when I needed 25 of everything! The gentlemen who worked there became my personal shopper and by the end, I had 3 ladies checking me out, 3 guys packing stuff up carefully and loading my car, which was then FULL of stuff and all for under $2000! Came here looking for wedding plates but didn't wind up buying anything. We were having a backyard wedding, very casual, so I wasn't looking for "wedding china" or anything traditional, but certainly not paper plates. The prices were decent enough, and they have a great selection of items for the private home kitchen or restaurants and bars. Here's my take, I live in West Hollywood, if I was buying for an event as I was and had time to go elsewhere, like Ikea, World Market, etc. they have a much better selection and better prices where you can really stock up. Plus, my husband has his own catering business and if you get a membership to Restaurant Depot they have better prices, but it's also a hike to get there from West Hollywood and a bit skeezy. But for the area, in a pinch, say if I needed it fast that day or I was a restaurant nearby and needed stuff on the fly, Bargain would be a perfect option. As it was, I was in no hurry and wound up getting everything I needed at Ikea, World Market, and the freaking 99 cent store and everything turned out amazing if I do say so myself. I just wanted a small cheap pot for making my oatmeal in the morning. I figured, as so many do, that I'd get something super cheap at Bargain Fair and it wouldn't be the best quality given the cost of things there, but since I'm only making oatmeal, I didn't care. Fast forward a year and a half and everything I've bought there has been AWESOME resiliant and fantastic. But I didn't put too much stock in my opinion since I can't cook. This Christmas my buddy who works at Surfas laughed as he recognized some of my cookware and said "I know where you got these!" and I mentioned that nope, they weren't from Surfas, they were from Bargain Fair. He remarked that the NSF stamp on the bottom meant a particular level of quality and that they were actually really awesome pots and pans. I told him I got all of them for less than $20 each, some for even under $10 each. He was floored. They cost WAY more than that at Surfas. So. Yeah. Hooray for Bargain Fair! read more

The prices are quite reasonable - unfortunately they didn't have crab shell destroyers...or cheese cutters... But they do have a lot of jars, a nice selection of simple white plates (nothing fancy) and a minimal selection of Dexter Russell knives. (Going with the theme of practicality) - nothing fancy. I'm not a restaurant owner (yet...) but I love coming to supply shops for kitchen odds and ends that are normally hard to find anywhere else. The prices here are fair, and the selection was good, but left me wanting more. Overall, it's a good resource for the home cook, and for restaurants to pick up necessities. Also, be careful with parking at the meters outside. I parked on Easter Sunday and got a ticket in only a few minutes. Maybe there's a parking lot but I didn't see it. read more

Go to the Dish Factory in Downtown LA first. Their selection is much cheaper for most items. Dish Factory also has more variety. Dish Factory is kind of dirty, but once I got everything home it washed up just fine. Bargain Fair was okay, and I filled in the gaps from the things I bought at Dish Factory, and they had French coffee bowls (made in China, don't get too excited) that Dish Factory didn't have, but definitely go here second, not first. Bargain Fair also had an interesting selection of nice china style place settings. And both places are much less expensive than places like Cost Plus World Market and Pier One. ALSO, IMHO, there is a special place in hell for female clerks who refuse to let female shoppers use the restroom....particularly seeing as I was purchasing some things. The good news is that the Goodwill bathroom next door is hassle-free and probably cleaner than Bargain Fair anyway. read more
