Peanut

Peanut is our rescue puppy who has some behavior and manner issues. Josh helped identify that there is a reason for this: undernurtured puppy syndrome. Josh is a very good, positive & EXTREMELY knowledgeable dog trainer. We saw results with Peanut after the first session. The way Josh explains things is super understandable and the instructions he gives are easily accessible to all in our household, from an elderly women to 12 year old. We feel hopeful that we can work through Peanut's problems with Josh's help and that feels so good! I can't recommend him and Bark Busters enough!!

Josh is phenomenal and incredibly knowledgeable! We've had our pup Woodson for almost two weeks and we knew we wanted to get him some training. After 4 days we're seeing an incredible improvement in our little guy. He's been really good on the leash and with recall. With the tools that Josh gave us, we know he'll only get better. Not only has Josh helped our pup, but he's made us better pet owners and parents. He answered any and every question we had. He provided so much knowledge and information on how to give our pup the best life possible. Josh is incredible and this training is worth every penny. ((Dog pic for extra credit))

What can I say? Josh is amazing!!! I have used 2 other trainers that just didn't work for us. I was never comfortable with the other trainers so I kept searching and came across Bark Busters. My dog Charlie and I are so glad we did. I made my appointment with Josh and anxiously awaited our meeting. Right away he was personable, funny and boy does he know his stuff. I've never met someone who understands dogs like he does. Everything he said made sense! Like wow it's common sense we just didn't know what we don't know. Josh takes the time to explain how we need to communicate with our dog and why we need to communicate this way. The 1st meeting is a long one. But so worth it. He also discussed the importance of nutrition. I'm so excited for the future with my best furry pal. I've already started telling all the neighborhood dog parents about Josh. I can't wait for everyone to see Charlie's manners on display. If you need help with your pooch please call Bark Busters and get an appointment with Josh. You and your dog will be so glad you did. Our dogs want to be good dogs they depend on us to help them be the best they can be. My dog has separation anxiety, he barks, jumps scavenges food. Josh explained the reason for all of these behaviors. So fascinating to learn about what makes dogs tick. Definitely recommend their service.

Well behaved pup!

Josh was an amazing trainer and brings so much knowledge to the table. We have a new puppy named Bruin with unlimited amounts of energy and curiosity. In one session Josh was able to teach both us and the dog more than could ever be expected. Our puppy is now well behaved and asks for permission instead of running around like a wild beast. In addition, it was brilliant to be able to talk to Josh about dog nutrition as he is a certified dog nutritionist. Dog food on the market can be a maze of choices, and Josh was helpful in providing the needed information to make a smart and informed decision. Between training and food, our new expertise will insure we have many happy years with our pup!

Dan's valuable training techniques helped us (and continue to help us) immensely as we tried to welcome our 8-week old German Shepherd pup into our family and set us up for success early on. We feel so much more confident handling our pup with Dan's training and coaching. We particularly love Dan's positive reinforcement methods which don't require any additional tools or gadgets and come in handy at home indoors or outdoors. Besides being an awesome trainer for our pup, Dan is a wonderful person in general, and our whole family has benefited from our valuable interactions with him during his training sessions and puppy socials. We signed up for the 8-week package and are enjoying every minute of it! Dan organizes biweekly puppy socials which are a great complement to his training as well. We can't say enough positive things about Dan. We highly recommend Dan and his training approach to anyone who wants to know their pet deeply and form a fruitful, loving and long-lasting relationship with their pup/dog.

The first year with my golden retriever, Luka, was extremely hard. He was a mouthy dog who had zero boundaries at home or outside. He would get excited or frustrated and grab/bite onto my shoes or clothes daily. Walking him became an impossible task because he was extremely dog-reactive, and he dragged me a couple of times while trying to chase another dog. Walking him also became a two-person job, with someone always on the lookout for other dogs so we could turn the other way. He also began to resource guard and snapped at my dad twice.. I had already spent thousands on another trainer and didn't have much success. I began to feel like this was just what life with Luka would be like forever. It got to the point where I felt scared of him, and the life I was giving him out of that fear wasn't fair to him. So I decided to try and get help one last time. I found Lori's page and after reading the reviews I became hopeful again. I took Luka in for an evaluation, and Lori recommended their board-and-train program. I can't thank Chelsea and Lori enough for everything they've done. I've learned so much about Luka, how to manage different situations, and how to better understand his behavior. We had training lessons throughout his board-and-train stay and afterward, because we are the ones who need most of the training! Chelsea did an amazing job with Luka. At home, Luka is unrecognizable in the best way. We can actually go on adventures outside without being terrified that we won't be able to handle him. Those who knew Luka before his stay and see him now always comment on how well he is doing. I cannot recommend Lori Hamilton's Dog training enough to anyone who feels like they've tried everything and is feeling discouraged. I am so thankful because it finally feels like Luka and I can start living life and enjoying everything around us.

One Day Dog Training - Steve trains dogs of all ages and sizes.

Steve at One Day Dog Training is truly one of the most special and remarkable people I have ever…read morehad the privilege of learning from, and an absolute delight to spend a day with. I have decades of experience fostering dogs and personally adopting many of my own, and over the years I've worked with a wide range of trainers. Without question, Steve is in a league entirely of his own. His talent, intuition, and depth of understanding when it comes to dogs is extraordinary. He doesn't just train dogs; he teaches humans how to truly understand them. What made the experience even more unforgettable was the joy he brought into the day. We laughed constantly. At one point my cheeks genuinely hurt from hours of smiling and laughter. And yet, amid all of that warmth and humor, we walked away with an incredibly clear, grounded, and practical understanding of his methods and a deep sense of confidence in our ability to apply them. Steve's approach is refreshingly doable: just five minutes of training per day, paired with his ongoing availability as a resource. That combination alone feels invaluable. We literally just completed our training day today, so I plan to update this review in a few months with more detail about long-term ease of execution and results with our dog, Griffin. But one thing I feel compelled to share now is this: throughout the entire day, even while Griffin was dramatically protesting (vocally, and with flair), Steve remained calm, steady, and completely unfazed. Griffin didn't love everything he was being asked to do, but he clearly adored Steve. He never cowered, never shut down, never showed fear. That level of trust speaks volumes. At one point, I asked Steve about scheduling an additional training day for one of our other dogs. His response was thoughtful, sensible, and deeply ethical: he told me it wouldn't be necessary. He explained that the principles I was learning with Griffin would absolutely apply to our other dogs as well, and that he'd be more than happy to answer questions along the way. That moment really matters to me because it so clearly reflects that Steve is driven by genuine passion and care for people and dogs, not by squeezing every possible dollar out of his clients. I also want to wholeheartedly acknowledge Tasha, who was incredibly kind, responsive, and compassionate throughout the scheduling process. We had to cancel our original training day due to a traumatic injury our other dog, Enzo, sustained: a spinal stroke. Tasha immediately offered to refund our deposit without hesitation. When I shared that I still very much wanted to work with Steve, she later went out of her way to find us an earlier date than originally offered after I asked to be notified of any cancellations. That level of care and humanity meant so much during a really difficult time. I am profoundly grateful for Steve and his entire team. This was one of the most positive, affirming, and empowering experiences I've ever had as a dog guardian. If you're looking for the best, congratulations. You have found it with One Day Dog Training!

Before working with Beth, walking Gambit was pure stress. He'd lunge at every dog, squirrel, jogger and even leaves. Anything that moved. Then I found Beth and from our consultation her approach was firm, clear, and incredibly effective. She didn't sugarcoat things and set expectations right away, and Gambit responded immediately. The transformation was FAST. I decided to take the basic obedience package and after the first session our walks are now genuinely enjoyable. What we like most is that Beth doesn't just train the dog she explains why every technique works. If you ask (and I did, a lot), she'll break down the reasoning behind her methods and the psychology, the timing, the consistency, so you understand how to maintain the progress yourself. It's empowering and makes the results stick. Her methods are firm but fair, never harsh, and always focused on building a better relationship between you and your dog. If you're on the fence, do yourself a favor and reach out to Beth. She's worth every penny and then some. Gambit and I are forever grateful. Beth gets a 10/5 from us--highly, highly recommend!
