Our 8 month old Golden Retriever puppy, Jack is not only sweet and adorable but he was getting stronger and feistier by the minute. He was experiencing what our vet calls his adolescent stage. We recently adopted a 1 year old, large golden doodle. He has a super sweet demeanor but was out of our control and we were out of ideas. We tried a slip leash, treat training, YouTube and TikTok videos... nothing was working. We were struggling with extreme leash pulling, reactivity to everything, mindless barking, counter surfing, play biting, jumping.... Basically everything. I found Uncle Steve through Yelp and it sounded too good to be true. I reached out because we were at a loss. Tasha, Steve's wife, responded same day and answered all my questions and got us scheduled. She also promptly responded to my million follow up questions. Steve showed up the day of our training and essentially changed our life. My husband and I were going through it and snapping at each other just because we were so overwhelmed and exhausted in the weeks leading up to Steve coming. Enter Steve. First of all, Steve is just a cool guy to be around. He is so charismatic and kind, so we instantly trusted him and felt at ease. Cooper was initially defiant with the prong collar. Steve got him under control within minutes. Train your dog in one day? Are you nuts?? This is surely a scam. That's exactly what I thought looking for dog trainers to help me get ahold of my 11-month old German Shepherd. She was a puller (I tried every harness I could), a barker, and just out of control. I tried the treat route, but my pup was just too smart - if she felt like eating, she'd play along, but if she wasn't hungry, treats would do no good. Plus, I went through a ton of different brands and types of treats, as some trainers believe in carrying 4 different types of treats to reward the dog with. That was too much for me, and I didn't want to be dependent on treats. With Uncle Steve, in less than 5-hrs, I found myself with a different dog. And no treats! After our session (and some practice), I was able to walk my 70-lbs German Shepherd without holding onto the leash. She wouldn't move until release, wouldn't lunge at other dogs... it was such a relief. Steve himself is passionate about dogs and his training style is firm, yet rewarding. He focuses on rewarding success through touch, not treats, which really improves the bond between dog and owner. We adopted an Australian Shepherd Milo a few months ago. He is 3 years old ; full of energy and has never really been trained. We have a 13 year old German shepherd who is very well trained so we thought training Milo should be pretty easy. However, the process was very challenging. He is a sweet boy at home but he walks terrible on leash and is very aggressive towards other dogs. The first month we had him, he made me fell 3 times and also bit another dog. "Uncle Steve" helped us with our 50+ pound Doodle puppy who was just starting to become too much for us to handle. After much research and do diligence on our part we decided to get a trainer. I cannot say enough great things about this program. We first worked with them several years ago, with great results. But life happens as they say, and we back-burnered working with our dog enough and keeping up with the training.
