Essentially a one-woman operation, FEG is run by owner Jo. Her prices are very reasonable, but even better is her service. She is *fantastic* with animals, putting them at ease such that they will just stand there and let her groom them--unlike the local major Pet store, where the animals are leashed in place while they continually squirm and resist. I have had my dog get cut and bleed at a major store, but that has never happened with Jo. Is it any wonder we've been happy customers for years? If you love your pet, give Jo a try. Because she is a small operation, you may need to make an appointment well in advance--perhaps two months out, for example. Don't let that deter you. You and your pet will both be very glad you gave her a chance.

I have been taking my little yorkie to her for 2 years now and have been very happy UNTIL the past couple months. I have even referred many people to her over the past year and she has gained several clients from my referrals. I have never gotten a thank you. Today, I decided she will not be grooming my dog anymore. My dog struggled with ear infections this summer and it was the worst. Several rounds of medicine and several doctor visits. Jo had even talked to me about maybe changing his food because that had worked for her dog. So a couple months ago, I changed his food and it definitely was good advice for many other reasons. The problem is how her and her husband treat me. They are never friendly on the phone when I call to make an appointment. They act as though I'm truly bothering them and are in a hurry to get off the phone. I've always looked past it until today. Last time I took my dog was a couple months ago and Jo's husband checked my dog in. I told him about the ear infections and that he's doing better but to please put cotton in his ear during bath. When I went to pick my dog up, I asked Jo how he did with the cotton in his ears and she said "he did good but I didn't put cotton in his ears, but I always put alcohol in their ears". She told me her husband didn't tell her about me asking to put cotton in his ears. I told her the vet had told me not to put alcohol in his ears bc it can change the PH or something. He recommends against it. Little did I know that Jo took that VERY PERSONAL as though I was blaming her for something... She didn't say anything, she just said ok but I guess she's been stewing over it the past couple months because today, her and her husband verbally attacked me. Last week when i called to make my appointment she was kinda harsh and rude to me. I asked her several time "is this a bad time? I can call back." she said it was fine and just rushed to get off the phone with me. During this call, I told her that I was in no way blaming them for his ear infections at all and just asked if she would make sure to do cotton in his ears as extra precautions. When I hung up, I thought to myself that maybe she's just having a bad day and I decided not to take it personal. Well, today we had an appointment and when I gave them my little dog, Jo's husband started in on me out of no where about how they always put cotton in dogs ears and I'm the ONLY client who has ever complained of ear infections...he was talking defensively to me as though I had blamed them for his ear infections. Which I didn't.... then I said "woah, it seems like you are taking this personal but its not." Then Jo started in on me saying "I've been grooming for 30 years and no one has ever told me how to do my job before!" I felt attacked by these two and literally was uncomfortable to leave my dog with them for fear they might hurt him. Its really disappointing because I was so happy with her work but I didn't deserve to be treated that way for caring about my pet and his health. Jo and her husband obviously got defensive at me asking for cotton to be put in his ears as though I'm telling them how to do their job. I'll be looking for someone who can appreciate that I care about my pet and actually take initiative in his health.

I felt much more confident leaving my pet with owners then some low-paid hourly wage kid like the large kennels have. Facilities: Clean. Older. But the animals don't notice! Value: excellent. Atmosphere: Friendly. You'll be greeted by a handful of gregarious cats in the lobby. You can tell that the owners not only love animals but take excellent care of the ones in their care. Short Answer: One of THE WORST customer service experiences…read moreI've had in my life. Do NOT go here. So unprofessional, do not care about you or your time and I would guess your dog too considering the way they treat PEOPLE. Lied about my dog having lice just so they could leave early for the day. Long Answer: I took my dog once and it was fine, but the price was a lot more than what I was anticipating then when I tried to make an appointment for a month out they said for my dogs breed I had to wait 6-8 weeks (which I had never heard before). I was kind of annoyed, but i made my 2nd appointment at 6 weeks out which happened to be on Pioneer Day. I'm not originally from Utah so it was just another day for me though. I get a call from them two weeks before and they ask if I can move my appointment to an earlier time that day so some of their groomers could leave early and enjoy the holiday. I said that was totally fine, no big deal. Then I get a call the day before my appointment at 11 from them asking if I could bring my dog in between 11:30-12:00 that day. I told them I was at work but could ask my husband. My husband then went out of his way to go take the dog in even though he had to be somewhere at 1. He asked for a time range of when my dog would be done and they told him around 3:30 he said that he actually had plans but if he can't make it back on time that his wife could pick the dog up around 5. The lady then got upset at my husband because she said she wanted to leave early. Even though we the customers were doing them a big favor by bringing our dog in a day early. Also the store is supposed to close at 5. My husband said he will do the best he can be to be back, but he can't guarantee it. My husband left and then I got a call at work from them saying that my dog had lice and I needed to come pick him up. I then asked where they see lice because my dog lives indoors and I have NEVER seen lice on him. I also raised livestock growing up and I KNOW what lice looks like. The lady said regardless someone had to pick him up. My husband went back to pick up our dog after JUST dropping him off and he gets there and asks for them to show him where the lice are. They told me on the phone it was near his paws, but when trying to show my husband they searched on his back. They then pull out a clump or dirt claiming it is lice and my husband said that isn't lice. Then the lady has the audacity to say to my husband, "I'm not an expert on lice, but I'm pretty sure that your dog has it." They then told us we couldn't come in for at least two weeks after seeing a vet. My dogs hair was already super long and couldn't go another few weeks without grooming. My dog was still soaking wet and my husband asked if he could least have a towel to dry my dog off and then he left. I then get ANOTHER call at work with them now telling me I can't bring my dog in for another MONTH. I asked why because my husband said that you couldn't show him the lice you claimed my dog had. They said they are sorry it is just policy but recommended I take my dog to a vet to remove the lice and get groomed. Even though I know my dog didn't have lice I took him to the vet and guess what?! My dog didn't have lice, or bugs of any sort, just dirt. Glad I wasted so much time on this situation and money at the vet that these groomers INSISTED I go to. Don't waste your time or money on this place, beyond disappointed with my experience. Would give 0 stars if I could.

We recently moved to the area and was forced to find a new groomer for our mini schnauzers. One is…read morea rescue and very scared of strangers. As such we had a difficult time finding a groomer he would trust. So we looked around and found this gem. Out in the desert just south of Tooele sits this space age themed pet groomer. Looking at the mural on the side of the building brings all the Area 51 thoughts flowing. The front is a bit, well plain. But we love this place. Upon entering you immediately sense a extremely professional groomer. A first, there were none of that usual bad dog smell. Clean, bright. She grooms in full view of patrons. No hiding in back. We are that couple. Yesterday the dogs tangled with a skunk. And after attempting to clean them we took them to a professional. The puppies were very happy. We could tell they were not stressed over the visit. And they looked amazing. Hopefully they took pictures and are free to post them. Thank you for have a great vibe, and doing an amazing job with our babies.
