    On our way to class

I can't express how amazing Alex is! I'd had G for a year and a half and tried every way under the sun to help address her reactivity...I was ready to board her! I loved that he saw the relationship she and I already had and reassured me that we could build on this...AND WE HAVE! Friends and family have seen the difference. G is so much happier all the time. I had my hesitation with group classes, but Alex never fails! Even in the class sessions it feels like I'm getting one-on-one attention. G is still cautious around him, but she loves being there and gets so excited every time we go to class!!

Love Alex and Melody. The puppy training class was exactly what we needed to get our new Puggle puppy started in the foot errr paw! A perfect combo of group and private classes. Alex truly is the dog whisperer.

Taking advantage of "Sit" so I can finally take good pictures of him!

Max is the laziest, sweetest, and cuddliest dog I have ever had. He's also my first herding dog. Boy, these dogs are so intelligent that it blows my mind! Before Alex, my partner and I were at a loss as to what to do about Max. He was getting worse and worse with his (leash) reactivity. In the home, he would just laze about and bring toys to us to play with him or would just play by himself. But we dreaded taking him outside on the leash because any dog we would see would turn him into a rabid zombie. There were a lot of breakdowns on my part and feeling like a terrible dog mom so we finally bit the bullet and chose the two week board and train with Alex. Getting into contact was smooth and easy and we chose a drop off and pick up time. Alex sent a picture or video every day and also answered any questions we had along the way if we had any questions about why he did a training a certain way in a video. I am blown away by not only how knowledgeable Alex is when it comes to understanding dogs individually (Max's terrible reactivity got worse and worse because he had been going to daycare two times a week for ten months and had been getting bullied so now he gets into fearful attack mode - Alex's astute observation) but also understand me and my partner and correcting us on our behavior. He figured it out right away at our first pick up lesson after the training and my partner told him "heel" and Max looked at him and then "heeled" next to me (yes, Max is a total mama's boy). It's been a little over a month since Max has come home to us from his board and training. Is he a perfectly trained dog now? Not at all! Does he have a solid foundation that Alex trained him with and now my partner and I just have to train ourselves to communicate better with Max so we are all on the same page? Absolutely! Sending your dog to Alex (or any trainer) is not going to be a magical fix. Your relationship with your dog is just that--a relationship. Both parties need to keep working together until you're on the same page. I have texted Alex my questions (and, sometimes, my breakdowns of how terrible I must be at this) and he has always been willing to meet and do a training session and help us out. I have never felt blown off or ignored by Alex. His constructive and kind criticism has always been incredibly helpful and you can tell that he cares a lot about the dogs and want the dogs to be happy with their families. Max isn't perfect and he's still a 2-year-old angsty teenager. But he's trying his best to do what we want him to do and we are trying our best to tell him what we need from him. Alex has been amazing in helping us connect the two concepts. Our walks are smoother and our picture takings are prettier. Bottom line: Alex is absolutely worth it. He's patient, helpful, and has the right mindset when it comes to teaching dogs AND people.

We highly recommended Alex for his expertise training puppies. We went from a struggling couple with no puppy experience to a couple enjoying every joy our little guy, Tucker had to offer. We are constantly amazed at Tucker's progression and know it's all thanks to Alex. He isn't only training Tucker but he is also training us!

Goose, the dapper dog, learned to sit up and "beg" after 15 minutes of using Alex's training techniques.

It was an awesome experience being trained by Alex. He trained me, my partner, and my dog, Goose, for six months as we went through three levels of training (puppy through advanced). Alex is very easy to work with and we looked forward to showing him our progress in class every week. It is great watching him work with different types of dogs. And it was super helpful when he used his dog, Troy, as an example to show us what was expected from us throughout our training sessions. Goose is my first dog ever so I had a lot of questions on training techniques. Alex answered every question and was super patient with my frustrations when learning how to train Goose. He helped me gain confidence and patience in my techniques, learn how to motivate Goose, and figure out how to break down tricks for Goose to learn. After Goose passed the advanced level, we still had behavioral concerns so we had Alex help us with two more private sessions. Both helped tremendously and we are grateful for Alex's help. Since then, we have taught Goose more tricks and are continuously using the techniques we learned from Alex. What we learned from him is invaluable; it has made our lives so much better since we can teach and communicate with Goose effectively. I highly recommend Alex to help you learn how to work with your dog no matter the age or behavior.

Alex worked wonders on our maltipoo Goose. Alex harnessed Goose's amazing inner self. His dog Troy is the perfect dog to look up too. We started off with the public classes with Alex and did some of the private training classes. With the private classes he helped us teach Goose to not be so afraid of greeting other dogs. Alex also worked on Goose's house and car anxiety. I've had dogs before but never had a dog as trained as the dog we have now. A lot of that is in part to Alex. We learned how to properly train and be patient with Goose. We look forward to getting another dog in the future and having them trained by Alex and Troy.

First day out after getting Enzo back both dogs downed with distance and distractions

Alex and The Canine Mind are amazing. I took my first dog Luna to Alex and she hates new people, immediately connected and loved Alex. When I recently got another dog Enzo, immediately took him to Alex as well and of course Enzo did amazing with Alex too. What was hilarious was when we watched the updates he woukd send, Luna would get all excited and crazy when she heard his voice again. My dogs have a short list of people they love...Alex and The Canine Mind is most of the short list. I have a short list of who I'll entrust my dogs with. And Alex and The Canine Mind are the majority of that list.

    Training included the kids too!

My dog, a border collie, goes to DD both for occasional daycare, and for overnight boarding as I travel for work. Not only do they feed him his raw diet (with sprinkles) and have him sleep with his favorite blanket and toy: they do it with compassion and a genuine love for Marley. Nothing is too much to ask of all the wonderful carers at Diggity. They know I'm a helicopter parent, so I often get videos and photos of Marley having the best time with his pals. He loves to play in their paddling pool, and is spoilt by everyone there. On a summers day his favorite thing is to be squirted by the hose. No one HAS to do this, however that's the love they show to the dogs that visit. I just adore everyone there. All the team know each dog by name, and what they like. They have the most clean and spacious premises. And when Marley comes in everyone yells "Marley", and makes him feel so loved. I wouldn't go anywhere else, I love them so much. Besides that, they are reasonably priced and open very accommodating hours. So, want a place that truely cares. Diggity Dog is that place.

If we had brought our other dog who doesn't do as well with other dogs (especially un-leashed), we wouldn't have been able to make it past the lobby to even get serviced. We specifically stated no shave / buzz. Just a cut for overgrown hair and to be able to deal with the hotter temperatures coming in the summer. The cut is un-even, and if we even had requested a shave, this low of a cut for this type of fur is not healthy for them at all. She's a medium long haired mix. They do not need a shave this low, ever. Though friendly, the person who took our dog in did not listen at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone. EDIT: Also just found out the owners now of this business is not the original. They've taken over the original owner as the owner passed away. When we walked into the lobby we were hit with an INTENSE ODOR of incredibly strong, potent dog urine smell! I know dog businesses are bound to have odors. BUT NOT LIKE THIS! The kind of powerful odor we encountered CANNOT be achieved without long held practices of neglecting to clean up waste in a timely, thorough way. (And too many dogs in 1 area maybe). Oscar (owner/trainer) was friendly and is absolutely experienced and knows dogs, no question. But with us he was confusing and disorganized as to what he offers. He made assumptions about us and wasted time speaking to those assumptions. Also, they had 4 HUGE industrial fans running in the lobby area (very loud). Circulating pet hair & who knows what else. I took the fans to mean they didn't have A/C that day? - or - in general? I did not see where the dogs were kept or the conditions - BUT - I left worried that the dogs kept there could be in filth and possibly in high temps too. Their website is out of date and so a little misleading. I read they were wheelchair accessible but that's untrue (unkept dirt parking lot and step up to the door).

After just one week, we saw a huge improvement in our ability to communicate with Willie and within two weeks Willie's behavior had rapidly shifted toward a calmer, more cooperative dog.
