I've been bringing Mimi here for over 6 years, and they always do an amazing job. My overly dramatic little diva walks straight to Lisa the when we walk in -- which says it all. Mimi always comes out smelling amazing, with adorable little bows or a bandana, and the pricing is super reasonable. I know she's genuinely cared for here, and that means a lot to me. Highly recommend!

I love this place although sometimes the grooming is a little below average but for the most part it's good. I have a small maltipoo and 90% of the time she comes back looking absolutely cute and smells so good with cute bows in her hair and a cute bandana, the price is very reasonable compared to other places. Only a few times did the groom look like they rushed and there was lack of detail, it's happened twice out of 4 times so 50/50. Overall my girl seems comfortable going in for her grooming so I know she's treated with kindness and that goes a long way for me.

    Before - bad hair day.

Woof, woof! My fur baby looks fabulous. This is our second visit here and they cut her hair perfectly. She came out smelling of perfume and they gave her a pink little bow to match her diva personality. We like coming here because it's close and convenient and online scheduling is easy. We'll be back!

This place is the greatest place to get your pup pampered! They are always so friendly and you can tell they really care about the animals, talk about genuine. They are really great handling my timid chiweenie Cooper! He gets the works (sometimes blueberry facials and paw balm, and other times the general scrub and brush with nails and tails) and always comes out smelling like heaven and strutting the cutest lil bandana, a different design, every time! I seriously can't thank them enough for their incredible service and taking such great care of Cooper! I am one satisfied Dog Mom!

The result of the full groom on Mana. She was more soft than normally, smelled of coconut, and they added that cute bandana on her. Too q!

It was our first time at Bark Out Loud and you bet we will be back again. They booked us in on the same day and the grooming only took 2 hours. The grooming appointment includes bath, nail trimming, ear cleaning and a haircut to my specifications. I am truly happy Mana looks adorable from nose to tail and even more happy to see she was well taken care of. I'd recommend to give this place a try! Plus they offer a membership!!

Lisa and her staff are AWSOME. Since you walk in you feel the warmth and love they have for our furry family members. Hands down the best groomers in SD. Thanks so much for being part of our fur babies lives!!!

Definitely recommend Bark Out Loud! Amazing service, during this pandemic they are able to open up and still take care of our four legged kids! Thank you to the owner Eliza for being so great! They did a fantastic job on our husky! If you know that they blow their coats, you know that means hair is EVERYWHERE!!! Big thanks to Erik for knowing what to do!!!

My handsome boy has spent a long time living with friends before we finally got the chance to fly him here from Japan. Staying nearby, we really wanted to get him in somewhere to get groomed after his long flight. My husband stopped by Bark Out Loud on his way to Krisp and scheduled an appt for the following day. My boy is a large Golden Pyrenees, in some serious grooming need and he came home as handsome as can be ! Thank you !

I came to this place for the first time today and I was very impressed with the service at this location. Vince is a very chill fellow and great at customer service! I didn't catch the name of the younger gentleman who helped me pick out a new harness for my pug but thank you for your help! I look forward to bringing my dog next visit!

The only dog wash we use in San Diego. Our dog always comes back smelling good and with a cute bow or hanker-chief. They're fast and can get us in day. Friendly team and our dog loves going there. Always runs in and never wants to leave. Highly recommend!

I've been bringing my dog Millie to BOL for a little while now and I just love these people! Always kind and helpful, and great with my nervous girl. Every time I pick her up she looks and smells amazing, and is happy as a clam. I also love all the bows and bandanas they use as a final touch! I'm moving away soon, and am sad to have to say goodbye to this fantastic groomer; today might have been her last grooming here before we leave, so I couldn't go without making sure to finally leave a 5star review. Thank you guys for always taking such great care of my girl. We will miss you, and keep recommending you to all our San Diego friends from afar!

This was my first time going to a small business dog salon (I've been taking my dogs to PetSmart since they were puppies) and I wasn't disappointed. Actually, Lisa the groomer did such a wonderful excellent job on my dog Bear even creative a look that fit him perfectly. I will definitely be going back again for future grooming! Thank you again Lisa!

    Big scratch on his belly

I am never a person who would leave bad review, but the bad experience I had here made me so. I have a 2 year poodle mix I took him to this place as a first time client since I recently moved to downtown, I specifically mentioned to the groomer that my dog's hair is little matted and if he has to shave SOME spots instead of trying to brush and hurt him is okay with me because I'd rather him to have short hair than going through pain while brushing, he said he can go "short" with no problem. I picked him up after couple hours my dog was completely SHAVED OFF saying that he was matted everywhere which I was in complete shock when I saw him, but I let go because I thought that was best option for him to not be in pain. Usually other shops where I took my dog before always ask and let me know before shaving any spots. Anyways I get home and I see major cut in his inner thigh and big scratch in his belly!! And the whole point of shaving was for him to not be in pain! When I called and asked what had happened, I didn't even get a sincere apology and he told me that was just an irritation that he had noticed it while drying him but decided to not let me know because he thought it wasn't a big deal!!!! when it's CLEARLY is a big cut that my dog wont stop licking. I was so stressed out the whole night feeling super bad for my dog and he went through.

Unfortunately, my…read morepartner didn't realize that dogs weren't allowed into the event that we were going to so I needed a last minute doggy daycare urgently!! I was so fortunate to stumble across Precious Pet Car on Yelp! Leila helped me through the whole process of signing up and booking and I was able to schedule a meet-n-greet and book a stay that same morning! Truly such a kind, responsive, and accommodating process. It was my first time ever sending my dog Mochi to a sitter and I was super anxious since he's already 10years old! The meet went even better than expected. The dog area was HUGE and there were so many toys and activity spots for the dogs to play or shaded areas to just rest. Shantae asked about my dog and explained the personalities of the other dogs that would be staying with him and I felt so reassured that Mochi would be just fine. A total bonus that I wasn't expecting was getting picture updates of Mochi having a blast! Seems like the old man got to have a little vacation on his own. Shantae informed me that he whined for a couple minutes after I left, which is normal, and how he got along with the smaller dogs and got to play with the water hose! Such fun surprises to me since he normally ignores little Dogs and water in general! I cannot recommend trusting your fur pets with Leila and her team more!! I was able to celebrate my birthday with ease knowing my dog was in good hands (possibly having more fun than even me!) When I'm down in SD again, I will definitely be utilizing Precious Pet Car services again! Thank you guys so much~

After having a…read morebad experience with a self-employed sitter, spotty availability with another self-employed sitter, and then deciding not to travel altogether, Leila and her amazing team at Precious Pet Care showed me that their high standard of care meant I could be at ease and take vacations again! I was referred to Precious Pet Care by a dog trainer I know. I was interested in their Golden Overnight Care services, a 24-hour service where the sitter is with my babies all day! In particular, my dogs are extremely attached as they are used to coming to work with me and generally being around me 24/7, so this type of sitter service was a must! I was given a link to request a meet & greet and schedule the days a sitter was needed in my home and met with my assigned sitter, Kate, prior to my requested days. Ever the worrier about my dogs, cats, birds, and guinea pigs that I would be apart from, Kate handled my bombarding her with information in good stride. During my vacation, I was pleased to see that she sent numerous photos, videos, and updates daily! Kate made me feel completely at ease while I was away and was such a great communicator. Upon my return, all my critters were happy, and the house was neat and clean! Kate made sure to take the trash out and clean up after herself as well. Truly a 5-star experience! I would highly recommend their Golden Overnight Care services to anyone who wants to enjoy peace of mind on their next getaway! Thank you to Leila, Kate, and the entire Precious Pet Care Team!

Wish I could give this place less than one star…read more Let me start by saying that I had taken my dog there since 2014 and Diane was good, but in the last year she's become increasingly less attentive and sloppy in her pet care. I recently returned from a two week overseas trip and my dog had a very bad scratch on his cornea. By Diane's own admission she had seen him with this for "four or five days" - (I have this documented in email) When I picked my dog up he was clearly in pain and not even able to open his eye. I am always only an email away and Diane always had my permission to take my dog to the vet even if it's a wasted visit. Because she didn't, the eye got infected and he had no sight for nearly two weeks. It's now been almost a month and the damage was so severe, he's still on antibiotics. The vet said this must have been extremely painful for him. What dog person does this to an animal?? The first thing the vet did was give him a shot for he pain. When I asked Diane about why she waited she became immediately defensive and said my dog was no longer welcome there. This was fine, I would never entrust someone so careless with my dog again. This dog caregiver is burned out. Some weeks prior I caught her shoving dogs in her car, fully impatient and saying: "I wish I didn't have to do this f--g job." I get it. Many people have gotten into jobs they hate, or had a job burn them out. The thing is know when to get out. I would think twice before leaving my dog here. I have pictures of this eye injury which I will try to post with this review. Anyone wishing to see these can contact me privately. EDITED post the response from the caregiver. I feel that a good caregiver would KNOW when a dog was injured. If you've ever had a cornea scratch, you know how painful that can be. She also said that she didn't notice the eye was red, but it was very blood red when I picked him up. She did tell me I could no longer bring my dog there, but I had not asked her for future care. When I confronted her on the eye issue, her response was "your dog is no longer welcome here." I have emails verifying this conversation. Good luck, if you decide to use her.

She is attentive and careful, only allowing zero-aggression dogs in her home. Her in-home daycare is kennel-free, safe and fully fenced, lots of places to run around, gorgeous well-maintained front and back yard, lots of shady areas to sniff and play. She even has an air-conditioned are for hot days! Pretty sure you can't beat her prices either, totally reasonable and worth every penny. My Frenchie has separation issues, she doesn't like being alone and just wants belly rubs and love. Diane thinks its cute and makes sure my Frenchie gets the love she desperately craves. Diane is a lovely, kind and caring person and I trust her implicitly. One of the other reviews says "finding Diane was a true gift to me and my dog" and I couldn't agree more.

Now that I no longer live in my old place or in the area, I feel more comfortable writing this…read more Jeremy walked my dog for a few months after I moved to San Diego. He did a fine job, and I didn't have any major issues. My only issue in the beginning was that he told me AFTER our meet and greet that the time clock for walks starts when he walks into the building. I showed him the entrance closer to my place (which is right by the entrance), but he wasn't using that one at first. While I had wished that he communicated this during our meet and greet, I wasn't upset by it after we had established a steady routine. A few weeks/months after I settled into my new job, I had been granted the ability to work from home full time with a few occasional sporadic days in the office. I texted him to tell him that I won't need a walker after a certain date and explained that I'll be WFH. I even told him that I'd still like to reach out on days I'd have to be in-office. Later that day, he called to "ask" me what he did wrong. His tone was extremely confrontational and aggressive. I reiterated that I don't need a walker anymore because my situation had changed. He kept demanding an explanation. Honestly, I felt really put off by this. I had to tell him several times that it's because the situation had changed and it took multiple attempts to get him off the phone. He kept trying to push me because he didn't seem to believe me. Honestly, I don't care if he did. Before this conversation, I probably would have asked him to walk my dog on the days that I'd be in the office, but this made me so uncomfortable. Over the period of several months, he occasionally texted and/or called to ask me if we had any dog walking needs. I didn't answer, but eventually texted him to tell him that we did not. I understand his wanting a "reason" to try to improve. However, I gave him a reason. And even if I didn't, I don't necessarily owe him one to the point where he has to demand one repeatedly.
