    2nd day back!
    Kelso A.

We just got our dog Spot back from a two week board and train. I am amazed! Prior, Spot was unable to be leashed and walked due to reactivity to other dogs, aggression, and more strength than I could handle. My confidence fell flat and I know that ripple effected to him more. He was digging in the yard, tearing things up, and taking things from house (I.e. keys, chess pieces, slippers, rubbish) outside to bury or burn energy on. He jumped on countertops and got any food left behind no matter how far in, he was determined. He broke through two doggy doors to get in house. I took him on 3 walks today! Around town center, in a pet store, to an elementary school to pick up his boy and back! My confidence is back to say the least. Of course spot still had some distractibility but I was able to work him through seamlessly! I highly recommend them!

When we first adopted Zeus from the Fur Angel Foundation he was extremely nervous, anxious, and timid. He didn't respond to his name, a whistle, or even treats. Taking him on a walk even on our quiet street at night was completely out of the question. He would just pancake on the ground and refuse to go anywhere. We met Brandon for a consultation and after really listening to what we were hoping to accomplish he reccomended 4 weeks of board and train. After 2 weeks of daily communication with pictures and videos being sent to us we met up for a mid point check-in. Zeus' confidence had skyrocketed! After only 2 weeks Brandon had already introduced all of the new skills we we're looking for, and even a couple we didn't think of. Another 2 weeks drug by while we missed our dog but Brandon kept us in the know with photos and videos of Zeus' adventures. He was having adventures! They went hiking, to the beach, and even ran errands to the hardware store. Mokupuni Paws has a network of dogs that they work with to help socialize your pet as well so not only was Zeus out on adventures, he was making friends as well. It's now been about a month and a half since Zeus has been home and we're as happy as can be. Our 8 year old is able to walk him by himself past dogs that are barking their heads off and Zeus isn't phased one bit. I highly recommend professional training for any dog. It makes the relationship so much easier. Especially with timid dogs. Mokupuni Paws really gave our Zeus a whole new life full of the confidence needed just to live a normal happy life.

I decided to make a last minute trip and was scrabbling to figure out who might be able to care for my dog for the week I'd be gone. I knew I could just hire a dog walker, but I also knew my dog (like all dogs!) could benefit from some training while I was gone. I am so glad I left her in Brandon's skilled hands!!! Seda is a very intelligent 1.5 yo aussiedoodle, but before her week with Brandon she would pull on the leash and have some overexcitable/demanding behaviors. I wasn't sure what to expect after only one week, but was thrilled when she came back knowing how to HEEL! She is also much more focused, excited to listen, and to train! As a working breed it is obvious how much joy she gets from training, and we are both much more excited to continue training on from here! Thank you Brandon & Mokupuni Paws!!!!

I highly recommend this small business!! I sent my little puppy, relatively well behaved for a puppy, and he came home after almost three weeks as a an extremely well behaved little dog. Brandon and the team kept me updated all along the way. They clearly know what they are doing, their philosophy of dog training is clear and evidenced in the amazing results with my dog Kirby. I look forward to have Mokupuni Paws as my dog experts that I can rely on for years to come!!

As a long time dog owner and someone who has fostered dogs and worked with many dogs and trainers - I have to say Brandon has been excellent to work with for our new dog Gertie. Gertie came to us from a breeder with no training, no socialization, and had never lived inside a house before. Brandon has been so patient and kind helping my husband and I with Gertie for the past several months. We also did a two week board and train and Gertie came back like a new dog - her anxiety has dropped tremendously, and we now have such a strong foundation to continue training her. The best thing about Brandon is that I can feel the love that he has for dogs and Gertie too! He is someone I can trust with my dog, and Gertie truly loves him too. We look forward to continuing our training with Mokupuni Paws!

Words can't express how much we love and appreciate Brandon, and how much love + joy he's given our pup and family. Our 1yrs old pup did the 2 week training course, and came back the best version a doggo could be. His training and care make the world of a difference, we've honestly never gotten so many compliments on how well behaved, cute, and happy our dog is (and we've had 4). He provides daily updates (pics and videos included), and also helps you as a dog owner to care and communicate in the best way. We can't recommend Brandon enough, and if you love your dog you should treat them to Brandon's training and care, they love him and they'll come back loving you even more.

Leave my 3 month old puppy for two weeks of board and train??!! Who better than Brandon and Marina at Mokupuni Paws to provide such a service! I learned so much from them on how to bring out the best in Lexi. Brandon is my "go to" for all things relating to her care. He provided routine updates with photos which reassured me that she was doing great! Lexi even has weekly visits with him! During this formative time (she's now 7 months old), I want to make sure she's getting quality care and with the growth I've seen in Lexi, I know he provides the structure and reinforcement she needs to grow into a well behaved member of our family. Brandon's patience extends into instruction with the owners too! I'm so grateful to have his expertise to guide me!!! I am sure you will feel Brandon and his partner Marina's love and warmth and be convinced that your fur baby deserves nothing less!

Running away, jumping, even pooping right in front of us... it got to the point where it just wasn't fun anymore. That's when we called Island Dog Obedience. Kristi was incredible from the start. She came to our home to meet Gigi, and soon after, Gigi was off to Kaneohe for training. It was hard being without her, and we wondered if anything would really change. Then came the daily photos--Gigi playing with other dogs, calmly sitting on her cot, and responding beautifully to Kristi's commands. It was amazing to see. When Gigi came home, we were hopeful but unsure. She greeted us with joyful zoomies, then quickly settled down and listened. We couldn't believe it--she was a completely different dog! Gigi is now the best little pug, and it's all thanks to Kristi. She was amazing, and at our house for over 2 hours making sure we understand how the e collar worked. It was a great day for all of us. with so much love and aloha, Jeri & Jerry Lynch

Kristi is truly one of a kind My boyfriend and I came to her desperate for help with our new pup, Kona, who struggled with severe anxiety. He was scared of pretty much everything -- people, new environments, being separated from us -- and we were also dealing with barking, basic obedience, and some unwanted behaviors. After just 4 sessions, the transformation has been unbelievable. Today was our final session, and I honestly wish I had a video of how Kona used to be so people could truly understand how far he's come. At the beginning, he wouldn't even go up to Kristi and was extremely hesitant and fearful whenever she took the leash. Now? He confidently walks up to her on his own terms -- calm, trusting, and self-assured. That alone speaks volumes. Kristi didn't just train Kona -- she guided us on how to train him the right way. She's patient, knowledgeable, supportive, and truly cares about both the dog and the owners. She sets you up for success, but it's important to note that the progress comes from continuing the work at home too -- and her guidance made that possible for us. We are beyond grateful for Kristi and everything she's done for our pup. If you're dealing with anxiety, fear, or behavioral issues and want real results, Island Dog Obedience is 100% worth it. I cannot recommend her enough!

We eventually decided on the basic 4-lesson training sessions, and we just completed our last one yesterday with Loren. Shout out to Loren for working so well with our Tank and Pepper!! First and foremost, you MUST be willing to practice reinforcing all the lessons you learn on your own time in between training sessions. It's like learning something once and then not doing your homework...would that work? Of course not. SOooooo.... my husband and I (mostly my husband), really put a lot of effort into doing our "homework" in between sessions with Loren. I mean, I wouldn't want to be the embarrassed parents who didn't help their children succeed, lol. Anywho, each training session was clear and had lots of scaffolding and repetition, so that our pups could succeed. There was plenty of explanation behind all the commands and corrections, so we knew how to handle our specific dogs. I think the personalization and customization was wonderful, and it makes me really happy to see that the trainer knew his stuff! Further, it was clear that he genuinely cared about each dog and his/her personality traits that makes each dog unique. During the 4-lesson basic package, Tank and Pepper learned sit (with duration and distance), place (with duration and distance), heel (still needs LOTS of practice), and down (with distance and duration). Now from here on out, it's about reinforcement, reinforcement, reinforcement. I don't want to lose any of this precious learning, so we better stay on top of things and continue the great work that has begin. We're so happy with k9 Off Leash that we are now also seriously considering the 2-week board and train with both Tank and Pepper. I know these guys are way booked out, so if you're even considering, then I suggest you call them right away!! Thank you, Loren, ad k9 Off Leash for your help with Tank and Pepper!!

They were referred to us by our vet at VCA Kaneohe to treat our dog's degenerative disease that impacted her spinal cord, affecting her back legs and ability to walk. She had been going for laser therapy treatment at VCA for pain which was initially working, then her vet recommended Dr. Gregg Levine and KAI Animal Institute as an integrative and complementary mode of treatment for pain management of her spinal cord disease. We're so glad her vet recommended KAI Animal Institute. In our first communication with Dr. Levine, he went over our dog's history over the phone, and went over various modes of treatment he could offer to relieve our dog's pain. We then setup a treatment session at his healing studio for him to assess our dog's health and recommend the most appropriate course of treatment. Stepping into KAI Animal Institute's studio, we were greeted with a calming and healing oasis that was thoughtfully designed for animals where Dr. Levine used various treatments like low level light laser therapy, rehab therapy, targeted pulse electromagnetic field therapy, and acupuncture for our dog's pain. In addition, his wife, Julie, an animal behaviorist, performed harmonic therapy for our dog during the treatment which used sound healing powers to further help calm and treat our dog in addition to the acupuncture, etc. Soothing music was played in the background during the treatment session which helped even my husband and I to relax. During and after each session, we could see a change in our dog's behavior and demeanor. She would smile and be so happy, excited to go to KAI Animal Institute's healing oasis and see Dr. Levine and Julie because she knew they would help her feel better. She was able to stand for brief periods with assistance and continually kept trying to use her back legs on her own. Mahalo Nui Loa Dr. Levine and Julie for providing such kind, compassionate, and caring treatments to our dog to help her with pain management. We are so thankful, grateful and blessed to have met Dr. Levine and Julie and can't recommend them enough for complementary care for animals dealing with pain or recovering from an injury or surgery.

His holistic approach to addressing whatever issue the dog is presenting that day and using the full range of therapies to treat them instead of having to pick from an ala carte menu like other places has been amazing. Being a part of the therapy myself as opposed to just waiting outside a clinic has strengthened the bond and trust between my dog and myself. She has learned new tricks, even at the age of 13, that have enriched her life and our relationship. We started with him to just address a back leg injury Keira had suffered, but have since expanded to help Keira heal and hold off the bits of aging her body has begun to show. I am beyond pleased with the results and use the therapy and training techniques Dr. Levine taught us daily to continue my dog's healing and progress. As you can see in the last photo, Keira is a very happy customer at the end of every session! I can't recommend Kai Animal Institute enough!
