Growing up, our dogs lived outside in their dog house and ate table scraps. The luxe life was not a part of our dogs daily routine! The manager confirmed this should not have happened, and that the groomer would be retrained. No offer of a refund for this mess, and teh promised call from the "owners" never happened. I don't appreciate that. I habe the phone calls to prove I was there by 12:39 (was on the phone with them as I walked in because I was lost) and I checked in at the front desk. Really hoping the bath and groom are excellent because I don't appreciate false facts and platitudes thrown my way. UPDATE: my dog's groom was perfect and the timing was quick. It is kind of pricey (but it is marketed as a spa, so to be expected). I would come back just with a different groomer who has better (human) customer service. read more

My long haired Chihuahuas were much in need of some grooming, so I made an appointment at Barkin' Creek at the Domain. The technicians were skilled, friendly, and gentle with my little girls. After two hours my scruffy puppies emerged, clean cut and fresh smelling. Service at the front desk was professional, if a bit perfunctory. Came here to get some pup cakes as Sprinkles down the road had sold out. The store is stellar inside so I'm sure to come back to shop more instead of a quick errand here. There are human grade meal kits as well. The pup cakes come 6 to a pack and the ingredient list also includes an analysis of protein, fat, and fiber. So these definitely are higher in quality than the ones at Sprinkles. Plus my dog gladly ate her pup cake with satisfaction when I got home. read more

I came to Austin for the first time and came here to see what to buy for my dog, but I was not expecting an incredible grooming salon how they built it looks so glamorous and I thought maybe I can get my dog a trim for his grinch feet the grooming crew and receptionists were very friendly and so nice and boy they did an awesome job on his paws!! Today I had my mini Poodle and Shih Tzu groomed ! They came out fantastic. I was hesitant being that it was my first time getting them groomed here but they really know what they are doing . The Groomer that got assigned to my dogs was very pleasant and assured that my furries where in good hands . I am definitely happy with the service I received but will say it is a bit pricey . Not more expensive than any other fancy grooming places though . My Shih Tzu was $75 and my Poodle was $85-89 can't remember which but 4 dollars doesn't make a difference my point is that they cost a lot . You always here "you get what you pay for" which is true and I'll add anywhere is better than PetSmart or Petco but if I didn't have the Christmas Spirit in me I don't know if I'd be as excited to pay $175 minus tip . The place as a whole is clean conveniently located in the Domain so you can head over to Starbucks or Juice land up the street and chill or you can shop around and even buy some fancy hi end doggy gear and decor lol . They have a variety of very nice pet Beds water bowls and toys plus scratch made healthy food for your dogs . Altogether a cool place to have in this location . read more

BEYOND SATISFIED! I have a 9 yr old sheltie, and she looks STUNNING! Melinda did a fabulous job! When she was a puppy we took her to petsmart for grooming and noticed how much she hated it, so i began to groom her at home. Id like to say I got pretty good at it, but it was time to trust a professional, as we had moved and it wasn't possible to groom her at home anymore. Melinda was kind and thorough! (All of the staff is kind and helpful) We had a consultation before grooming, and she was able to finish her before the estimated time. I had her bathed, deshedded, nails trimmed, and my god she is silky and smooth! My dog was happy and kind towards the groomer at pick up. Not a good experience for my pups and us On February 8th, I took my 4 pups for their grooming appointment at 2pm at the Domain store. I made clear we needed multiple groomers working on them since we had a bad experience before with only one groomer working on 3 of our dogs, that took 6 and a half hours, all that time my dogs were in the store, not walked and not sure they got water. So when I asked I was told to make sure next time there were multiple groomers working with them, so I did. The time of my pups at the store didn't improve, this time it took 5 and a half hours, 3 of them where ready when I stop by the store to check the status of the grooming, when I asked if they have been out in all that time the answer I got was "we make sure they are walked if they have to stay here long time" so I asked them they have been walked?, the answer wasn't convincing the front desk person said I think they were, pretending to look for information on the computer. I took 2 of my pups and walk them for a little to then put them on the car so I could go get the other 2. They gave me Loca, who was noticiable nervous and stressed out, I walk her a little also so I could put her in the car to get Coco. I even made a comment to the front desk person "did you give something to calm her down? This behavior is way too mellow for her" they told me they didn't give her anything. By the time Coco was ready, I was informed that the reason it took so long it was because the 2 dogs Loca and Coco were really matted and took them long time to untangle their hair. First of all Loca doesn't have that issue, her hair is thick and wavy not curled. I was charged a total of $325.73 with the tip I included. That is for only 2 of the dogs, I had paid already $281.02 for Oreo and Roscoe, keep in mind, Roscoe is a 6 pounds Brussels grifón Yorkie mix who is paying the same price for a grooming than the 36 pound Oreo. I took my 4 pups home, they were exhausted and stressed and happy to be out of there and on our way home. Thinking that even with the previous bad experiences we had at the same store, this one wasn't that bad other than the exaggerated cost and time expent at the store, I didn't check them before we leave, but once at home we noticed that Loca had a spot where apparently the clipper guard wasn't used so it was really short on the back of her neck. Her nails were sharp like they were clipped but not ground. And her due-claw on one side was no touched while the other one was short but sharp. This is negligence from part of your crew, no one informed us of why her hair on the back of her neck was in that condition or why her due-claw wasn't taken care of. But we were informed about the extra charge for their hair matted. We definitely have reached our limit dealing with your company, it has been one mistake or abuse after another, we were trying to make things work but is not possible, we will not be paying close to $600 for grooming where our pups remain on boxes for a long time, without being walked, where they are on a very apparent stressful environment and where the crew is clear to inform of extra charges but not about their mistakes. Is not worth to put our pups on this situation, the quality of your work and customer care is something you obviously don't care about. I'll make sure to inform my friends about the bad quality and lack of compassion of your crew/company. read more

This review is for their dog food and baked goods. My pup is coming up to 17 and he has a very sensitive stomach and no teeth left. I've tried feeding him farmer's dog and ollies - both have given my dog upset stomach at some point. Barkin Creek offers a good variety of fresh made dog foods. My pup loves their turkey with sweet potato and beef with potato. They also have fresh baked goods and their doggy macaroons (recommended by the cashier) are like crack lol. I highly recommend their fresh dog food and baked goods. They are all very reasonably priced. read more

We stopped in last-minute to get our 2 small dogs a bath and by a stroke of luck, they got us right in. John took great care of them both. It took a couple hours, which was fantastic!! I've taken my Great Pyrenees Rowan to Barkin Creek a number of times and am always so happy when I do. Rowan's size (over 100 lbs) and anxiety make her a little bit of a difficult pup to groom. Our pups have been on the fresh food diet for years and we used to be on monthly subscription services, but we found that after a month or so, our dogs always got bored of the food and stopped eating. We switched over to barkin' creek when they opened in the domain and our girls LOOOOOVE the food! They are always begging for more and we love that they have plenty of flavor options, so we can rotate them and they never get bored! And now with the grooming/spa being open, we've been also taking our girls here and they've been amazing! The staff really love the dogs, and our dogs are not stressed by their visit. If you have an anxious pup that needs time to gain the trust of the groomers, this is not the place for your furbaby. I took my 9 year old Morkie here for a groom and received a call soon after drop off that they could not complete the groom- that he was too anxious and distraught- and to prevent further trauma they decided it was best to stop. I whole heartedly agree with their decision on this- but when I went to pick him up he was completely TRAUMATIZED. For days, he was not himself. He also had a huge red abrasion on the underside of his belly- which probably started the panic as he is very very sensitive to pain. I spoke to the manager and sent her the pictures- and the best she could offer me was to bring him back to finish the groom for free. Why would I ever bring him back to a place that literally terrified him? I don't feel that it was necessarily the fault of the groomer- although she was very standoffish and almost offended even that my poor pup did not respond well to her. This whole experience was a one star- but the shop itself does have some very cute toys and accessories that I will absolutely go back for- so I added another star. I would also like to share that this was back in November 2021. I wanted wait until I brought him to another groomer to see how that experience went so I can compare and leave a really fair and honest review. I brought him to East Side Pet Ranch today- and it was a whole different, positive, experience. I will be leaving a rave review for them as well as some pictures from today as I highly recommend that establishment over this one for your pup's grooming needs. read more

I can't even express how much I love this place! I took my 10 month old goldendoodle there for the first time today and my groomer was amazing! Charlotte's haircut was perfect and she was such a happy girl when I picked her up! The salon is beautiful, and two stories which is pretty awesome. From service to cleanliness to professionalism, this place has it all! I am so lucky to have this wonderful gem here in the neighborhood! One of the most incredible grooming/shop I've ever been to! The employees clearly love dogs and know how to bring my pup energy down.
