I used to take dog I had before this one to inexpensive Large box store grooming places and she would always shake and act so stressed out (Which I thought was normal at the time at the time). Later I read about it and realized how upsetting it really was for her and decided that I would spend the money to ensure that my dog is well taken care of. What good is a mobile pet grooming service that will not serve your area? Their website clearly states they serve South and Central Austin. I lived in South Austin and inquired about their services a year ago and was told they do not service that area. I recently moved to Central Austin and requested their grooming services for my Service Dog and they informed me that they do not service my area in Central Austin. I think Park and Bark is all Bark and no Groom. Unless you live in a very narrow geographic bandwidth of Austin and you have a small or medium sized dog. I believe the real reason they do not want to groom my dog is that he is a 72-pound German Shepherd and they do not want to deal with a large German Shepherd Dog. read more

I can't thank Selene and Park & Bark groomers enough! Selene is so sweet with my Winston, a 17-year-old mini dachshund. When our longtime groomer retired and closed the shop, I was nervous about going to a new groomer. Winston had only ever been to that one groomer, and I was worried about sending him somewhere new in his old age. Park & Bark was EXACTLY what I was looking for, and in hindsight, I should have started using them long ago. The Process: They confirm the appointment a few days in advance and send a text with an ETA on the day of the appointment. After cuddling with Winston, Selene brings him into their nicely furbished grooming van and sends me a picture of Winston before bath time. Winston is now blind, so he can get fussy, but she is sweet. When she trims his nails, which he hates, she cuddles him and the floor and ensures he is as comfortable as possible. I have had a husky mix whose history prior to my adopting her involved escaping a kennel at a vet clinic (during rescue vetting), chewing through 3ft of drywall, and evading capture for 8 months. We have made a ton of progress in the year or two she's been living up the house life, but heading to a professional groomer has always been out of the question. I was low key nervous even leaving her in a van. But Sel is amazing. She locked up and did a great job with my dog who came back far less stressed than my dogs who are used to regular trips to brick and mortar groomers. They give you a two hour arrival window, and we were 15-20 minutes late to bringing the dogs out, so the owner was incredibly rude to me. We were consistent customers grooming 4 dogs every 4-6 weeks and always tipped above average (25-30%). The owner was very rude to me about being a few minutes late even though there was no exact arrival time. I apologized and he was still rude to me to the point where I felt attacked and went inside and cried. I walked outside and he mentioned he didn't like that he was waiting, and I had said sorry already via text, his reply was "no you didn't" (when I did in fact say sorry). He continued to drill into me so I reminded him how busy of people we are, then he started comparing schedules, which felt childish and petty. He then got accusatory and said "so next time you will make me wait an hour?" I then decided to pull my dog out of the vehicle and request all future appointments cancelled. I will not tolerate being spoken to like that as a client or even as a human being. I had NEVER missed an appointment, always rescheduled DAYS in advance, but yes I may have showed up 10-20 minutes late to the appointment, and I always made it up to them via tip because I respected their time. To be attacked as a paying customer was the first time I have ever experienced such HORRIBLE customer service. If you are able to sit by your phone/wait around for them to arrive and be there right when they arrive, use this company, otherwise there are plenty of other options! read more

I am SO happy with the service I got from Selene! Most groomers require an early drop-off and to leave your dog there all day, which my pups always seemed nervous about especially when I'd go in at the same time as customers with reactive dogs. I decided to try Park and Bark's mobile grooming and my babies went out happy and excited, and came back to my house clean, dry, and smelling lovely with little bowties. I have an older big dog who is very anxious, timid, and scared of everything, which makes grooming difficult. Selene and Ramon were very nice and took the time to meet my guy and make him feel as comfortable as possible.
