I moved to Boynton/Delray 5 Months ago. My 2 year old Shi-Tzu has been groomed there 5 times, and had a 5 hour 'play date'. I can not say enough wonderful things about Barkingham Palace. Love this place!!! I've always boarded my Weimaraner at his vet but decided to try something different because of some bad vibes I got last time I picked him up. From the second I walked in everyone was friendly & seemed to genuinely love dogs. The sweet lady (sorry I didn't get her name) at the front desk was so welcoming and told me I could call at anytime to check on him. She even offered to give me a quick peek at where he would be sleeping. After a weekend away, I just picked him up (Sunday pickup= bonus!) and he seems soooo much happier (and worn out= double bonus) than he did after a weekend at the vet. We took our 2 dogs to Barkingham to get groomed which they desperately needed, especially our husky. I couldn't believe how incredible our husky looked when we picked him up. In fact I don't think his coat has looked so good in the almost 5 years that we've had him. Not a mat in sight. Both dogs looked great, and in all the years we took them to other places to get groomed no one has done such a great job as Barkingham did. Thank you! read more

Didn't even give me the time of day when I told them the breed of my dog just because she is a "pitbull" they said No immediately give me a break! I asked if they wanted to do an evaluation on her because she is very friendly to both humans and dogs but they couldn't be courteous enough to do so. If you have a big dog breed your better off going to The Barkers Hotel Pet Resort they are friendly, courteous and doesn't discriminate against bigger breeds. My money is just as good as anyone else's and I'm glad I didn't end up spending it here! F.Y.I. We were going out of town last minute and I was so nervous about our leaving our Cavapoo somewhere while we were gone. Barkingham palace worked with us to accommodate her and put me at ease right from my first call to them. Picking up Stella when we got back and seeing her play and having a blast there made us so happy that she was comfortable. I've known these owners the day they opened. They took great care of my Basset Hound for several years. It's family owed and operated. They take pride in what they do which is not easy. Understand that when you are dealing with animals of all personalities is tricky! These people do a fantastic job and not only do I appreciate the efforts and what they've done for me, they are my friends! Taking care of pets is a hard task. What INCREDIBLE service! I'm here for a few months from NYC visiting family and my pup's nails have gotten long due to not wearing them down on the streets of Manhattan everyday. These guys are so great...family business-they ALWAYS take care of my dogs...I've left my dogs n their care for 2 wks at a time multiple times now and they never fail to give my cavalier her heart medication 2x a day every day....also when they came from their most recent grooming I noticed they even washed my dogs collars!! First off, I have never boarded a dog before because I always used private dog sitters, but our 6 month old Boxer mix "Buddy" has special needs and has "fear based aggression and social anxiety". The owners who run the place are wonderful people. We have had to use them on 2 occasions, next week will be the 3rd time in the past 2 weeks. Buddy loves it there, they meet all of his needs. They told me both times that he was great and not aggressive at all! I think they tire them out!!! We love this place! read more

Worst Place and worst experience ever. Left my twp puppies there for two days and when I came back to pick them up. I found that they were filthy and pee covers their bed and their towels. Also when I spoke to the owner "Candy Pearce". and told her about my experience and also they refused to show me where my puppies will stay?. she was denying everything instead of looking at the video and find out if what I told her is right or wrong. When i started to talk to her, she told me that the manager couldn't understand me because of my accent !!!. This is just an idea about this place and the women who owned this place. Don't take your pets there at all and safe your money or take them to a place know how to treat animals and people with more respect. read more

This is a remarkable place. When I moved to the area I was stressed out about where to have my dog go to daycare/boarding when necessary. We used daycare 3 times a week and frequent boarding. Barkingham Palace was the only place that took a dog stressed out from moving and change and created an environment where he was happy, well cared for and comfortable. This place is simply the best. I never had a worry, they were so supportative of me and my dog. The owners and staff are terrific and how nice to go to a place where you see the same people each day.....happy staff that stay with their employer provide great service and care. I know Barkingham Palace was the best place for my dog Hopkins and for me. We've moved again, back to our home state, and we'll really miss Barkingham and the people who made our life here so special. I can't recommend this business highly enough. Kim F. read more

July 27, 2017 - I woke up to a call from Barkingham Palace, they had lost my pet. My cat was staying with Barkingham Palace as I was traveling & on July 25th, they had a break-in. The door to the room that the cats were being kept was smashed in and as the intruder (an employee at that time) walked in, my cat walked out. I have never placed blame on Barkingham for the break-in, that was not their fault - but what happened after the break-in is what anyone trusting their pet with this company should know. - Barkingham did not inform me that my cat was missing until I arrived to pick her up two days later. TWO DAYS after the fact - The facility does not have 24-hour care. There are times each & every day that your pet is left alone with no supervision. - My pet--along with the other cats there--was left unrestrained in a room with no supervision. Had they put her in a crate, she would have never gotten out. - The missing cat signs they put around the neighborhood had a cartoon picture of a cat (a lot of good that does) - had they told me immediately of the incident, I could have at least supplied a photo to aid in the search - At one point they asked that I not bring negative attention to their business. - I showed up every morning & evening to search the neighborhood for 12 days. My boyfriend flew halfway across the country to help with the search. My family was in Florida for vacation--my boyfriend, my brother-in-law, and my six-year-old nephew were soaked while looking for my cat during a tropical storm when all Barkingham was willing to do was offer suggestions about where we should look. I always felt like I was an annoyance. They never called to check in on me, the search or provide any information they were helping to find her. - Despite more than one offer to assist or reimburse the expenses involved in finding my cat, Barkingham did not respond to multiple requests for a meeting to discuss the issue after we found her. It is unreasonable and negligent, regardless what hour of the day it is, to leave other peoples' pets unattended when people are paying you to take care of their pets. It is even worse to not immediately inform a pet owner that their pet is missing. Barkingham and other pet owners are fortunate that no one else's pet has been lost from their custody. My sincere hope is that nobody else has to go through the heartbreak, uncertainty, and inconvenience that we did. Fortunately, my story has a happy ending. Two weeks after the break-in at Barkingham Palace & 12 days after they told me about the break-in - I (with the help of a sweet family & Jamie Katz Pet Detective) found my cat. It is my understanding that they no longer board cats, but for any pet that you love, please use this review as a warning of the type of owners you are leaving your loved ones with. read more

We left our dog here for one week (first time using them) and when I picked him up he couldn't get out the door fast enough. They say they brush them but when I picked him up he was full of mats, smelled like urine, and his hair felt dirty. When I got him home I had to bathe him, dirt and small rocks were coming out of his fur. The groomer even charged me an extra $15.00 because of the extra time to get mats out of his hair. read more

We just moved here from Massachusetts and I feel so fortunate to have found this place. The owner - Tony - is gentle and polite and extremely knowledgable. Just recently boarded my dog for 5 nights. She's a rescue so she can be uncomfortable at times in new situations/environments. Tony sr and tony jr were great with my dog. They let me come in 3 different times before boarding her just to get her familiar with the place and the staff. I never once felt rushed, they spent time making me and my dog feel comfortable. They made her feel so welcome. By the time I dropped her off before my vacation she was ready to stay and play. I called a few times to check on her and she did great. Couldn't ask for a better place to take her. The staff is extremely nice and very good with the animals. Highly recommended. read more

Our dog absolutely loves it there and gets so excited that he can barely contain himself when we pull in the parking lot! The owners are so great and everyone is friendly. I made an unscheduled visit to check out Barkingham Palace, talked to my vet and asked friends and overall I received favorable responses. I recently left my dog there for a long week and the boarding part of it seemed to be fine but the grooming part left alot to be desired. The groomer had a very abrasive and argumentative approach when she critiqued my dogs past grooming. I have been with the same groomer for more than 30 years and have been completely satisfied and so have the many people I referrred. The groomer at Barkinham didn't like the type of cut I had previosly had (every 6 weeks) on my dog because she didn't find it apopropriate for the breed. Well guess what it's my dog, my money and I am the customer so do what I ask! This was the last thing I need after a long day of driving home was to have an argument. I really liked Tony(the owner) and the rest of the staff but not sure if I will go back, BUT I know I will never let the groomer near my dog. read more
