My shy 13 y/o German shepherd went for the first time to Barkley's and was treated with kindness and love. He came home happy and well after being there. They did a full wash, de shedding and nails. All successfully and used a drummel in his nails. He hates having his nails done but, these guys had no issue with him, were patient and understanding and gave him lots of breaks. I've been here a couple of times to self wash. And the place is always very clean, staff are friendly and the blow dryers are very strong/fast. I have two Australian shepherds and can fully blow dry them in about 20-25 minutes. read more

Did a self dog wash today on my large Goldendoodle. The staff was so very helpful and welcoming when I walked in. They immediately got me all set up and kept checking on me! Everything was there that I needed towels, 3 types of shampoo, gentle to the eyes shampoo, ear cleaner and a great conditioner. I was very happy with the products they use. My dog looks great and smells awesome! And the baths and drying stations are high enough so you don't have to bend over. I did buy the dog cologne because it smelled awesome! Early this morning I made an appointment for my dog to be groomed.. I travel 30 minutes and arrive at 10:45 for our 11:00 am appointment I review what I wanted to be done.. and leave.. They typically call when you can come and pick up.. Not hearing from them... I return at 12:15 to find my dog exactly where he was left at! When a staff member seen me .. he said oh he is next !! I said , I had an 11:00 am appointment.. why is he not done yet .. let alone started?? He said.. oh we didn't know you were in a rush.. WTH!?!?? I wasn't in a rush, that's why I made an appointment!! I have been a customer here for a few years, since I moved to Florida and got a dog. Barkley's was great and they all love their animals. That being said, there have been issues with how they treat dog nails and how they deal with customers raising complaints. The first incident was back in late 2015 when my dog got groomed. The nail tech missed my dogs duclaw and it grew so much that it punctured his pad and got infected. My dog had to get surgery to drain the wound, remove the claw, and wear a cast until it healed. I let it go because I was still happy with the grooming overall. When we brought this up, the manager told us that she specifically remembered missing the duclaw. Recently, I had my dogs nails done in April. I'll admit that I can't exactly say they missed a nail, but my dog ended up splitting one of his nails at the base and had to get it removed and cauterized. The vet said it looked as though his nail was "extremely long" and looked as though it hadn't been cut in a very long time. This happened two months after his last grooming. Although the manager said we should have cut his nail sooner because they'd grow in that time, we've taken him to the groomer once every three months and this has NEVER happened before. Alerting management to this was a mess. She tried to blame us, wants the vet records despite the fact that she won't pay, and is unwilling to amicably speak to us about how to resolve this as she was rude, spoke over us, and refused to address any recourse for the duclaw incident she mentioned she remembered. This place is amazing! My poor lil chihuahua had never had his teeth cleaned because he has a heart condition. They were so bad you couldn't even see them anymore they were so caked with plaque. Cindi (who is awesome) was able to do a non anesthetic cleaning on him and I can't believe how good they look!! I can see his white teeth again! Not only that she gave me great tips for his breath like pain yogurt added to his diet (this changed his breath from "death breath" to tolerable in just one day!! Love this place! I've tried so many groomers to get my dog a simple nail trim. They all refuse because my dog has severe anxiety and fights it when she gets her nails trimmed. This is the first place that has been able to cut my dog's nails, and so quickly too. They used a dremel and were really quick and efficient. I appreciate their patience and positive attitude so much. I will be returning for sure. read more

This place blows me away every time. First visit our little one got pulled by our bull dog's leash and scraped her knee. The staff came out to help me corral my pups and let our little girl feel like part of the team. Our second visit my bull dog escaped his leash and ran towards the road. beyond frustrated right now. i just picked up my 5 year old dog who's been to the groomers over 100 times in her life. the groomer cut her ear after saying it was too matted to brush out. i've been home for an hour now and she's still bleeding. she looks terrible and is in so much pain. she's covered in blood and looks worse now then she did when i dropped her off. i recently moved and decided to try out a new place... never again i'd rather drive two hours to take her to her old groomer then to ever step foot in this place again. read more

I love this place!! You won't find a cheaper way to groom your dog than your kitchen sink! But at least this way your kitchen doesn't need a thorough scrubbing after youre done! Good place to get your dogs groomed - you can do it yourself or have them do it or a combination of both - which is what I do when I take my two dogs. Nice owner and staff - although it feels like things could be run a little more efficiently at times everyone is friendly and you can tell they love dogs. It seems they have a dog care service as well as I see owners dropping and picking up there dogs while I'm there - everyone seems very happy and satisfied with that service too. read more

I am SUPER FRUSTRATED with this business. My dog got dirty at our local dog park in Delray this morning, so I found them online and called to confirm that the self service dog wash opened at 11am... staff member answered the phone and confirmed. I drove 45 minutes up to wash my dog at 11am, and they had a handwritten note on the door saying they'd be opening at Noon instead today. I called from outside, and even though someone answered the phone, would not let me in to wash my own dog for another hour. I drove 1.5 hours out of my way, wasted gas, and now am cleaning my dog at home. There was a very sad looking dog tied up outside the business as well, in South Florida August heat... hope he is being properly cared for :( read more

Great place to wash your dog yourself, or to have a groomer do it for you. I always have my 110-lb dog bathed and groomed by one of the professionals here. She comes back looking (and smelling!) great, and is also happy. She doesn't get stressed out! Dogs aren't kept in cages and get water and potty breaks, so it's much easier on them. Their daycare/boarding place is really good too, lots of happy dogs there. read more

Normally is a really great place. Has been in the past. Not sure what happened. Had an spot at 11 by 245 they hadn't even started his grooming. After deliberation they decided to rush through it to get it out of the way and it looks just like I expected. Rushed. Not even. Tufts of long hair left in strange places. No bath. For $75 I expected much better care to be taken. read more

I called to see about going to this place to give my dog his bath as it is chilly outside and I do not have warm water outside. Needless to say he doesn't like his baths and being a rescue he must have had a bad experience doing it in the tub where their is hot water as he freaks. To charge $22 dollars to have warm water is ridiculous. I would bring my own shampoo and conditioner as I use only the best for him. This would be a good business to get into when I retire. I feel a charge of $10 to $12 is fair and to add extras if you wanted to use their shampoos towels etc. But bring all your own supplies and paying 22 dollars is extreme! read more

I have been bringing my Golden Retriever and mixed Corgie breed for some time after a recommendation from my daughter. The owner really loves dogs. I have been impressed with their knowledge comparing it to that of my vet. I have never had any issues. My biggest concern is a groomer's concern for the animals in their care. That has been great. When my Golden gets shaved (looks like a lab when he's done (so much cooler for him), it's always turned out great. After several visits, I have never been disappointed and have never had a negative encounter either in care of my dogs or attitude of staff. read more

Cindy is a miracle worker. No doubt about it. I rescued a greyhound from Animal Control, whose nails hadn't been trimmed in a long, long time. I tried a couple of places, but with limited results. Her nails were still scary long, and she wouldn't let anyone near them. Cindy accomplished the impossible. She did not restrain my dog (which is wonderful, as I'm sure that would have been frightening and stressful for the dog). She just put a firm arm around her and went to work. My dog (who is quite large - 85 lbs.) resisted the procedure and I'm sure that anyone else would have been wary, as she was howling and looking like she was trying to bite. But not Cindy. I asked her why she wasn't worried, and she said that she trusted the dog and knew it would be ok. I was in awe. She truly is a dog whisperer! And my dog's nails came out beautifully. For the first time, she was able to walk easily on concrete - no clicking sounds. She was in heaven. Everyone at Barkley's is a dog lover and so kind. Your dog is treated like a king (or queen!). Prices are extremely reasonable, and the results - second to none. It is the only place I'll be going to!! read more
