Great staff and beer selection, plenty of TV without the sports bar feel. Cool second floor, nice neighborhood type bar.

I like the space, the beer was cold and good, they are adding liquor at some point which would just add to the stars. They are starting out...go check them out and let them know what you like. That will only help them in selecting their next taps, cans/bottles & wine. Key points for walk-ability!

Best bottle shop in the greater Charlotte area. David does a great job at curating a great guest experience every time. And everything is very reasonably priced. Pay Barley Market a visit!

I love going to clt to find a perfect place to find a great selection of beers and some friendly staff that know what they're talking about. Barley market is what I'm looking for in the lkn ara. Bartenders know me by name and has a "home town feel" to it. It might be hidden but it's worth the trip if you're looking for a local spot in the LKN area.

Best craft beer list in LKN.

Great vibe, beer is awesome (sours specifically) and people are laid back. Highly recommend going here.

Such a great atmosphere and service. Plenty of craft beers, they are working on the wine selection but this is a great spot!

Average tap list. Beers to go were generally older. Service was good. Ambience was best part.

We were attending a friend's car show on the Saturday of Father's Day weekend. We arrived a little…read moreearly so we can park at the show and walk to lunch. We came upon this place knowing it was in the area, and decided to try it. They allow you to seat yourself which is fine. They did not seem to be very busy at noon on a Saturday, but people were coming and going. All good. Our server came by quickly to ask about drinks and if we wanted any appetizers. We gave drink orders and said no to apps. It was the first time here, so I tend to look over the menu a little longer than usual, but, it was not that busy. The server came by to take our entree orders and we said we just need a few minutes to look over the menu. Within 1 minute, another server came by to take orders order. We said that we just told the server we need a couple minutes to look at the menu. I'm not sure what the rush was, but it made me feel like they must take orders immediately. For a casual place, with a great playlist by the way, they sure made me feel hurried. The first server came by in a good amount of time, so we finally placed our order. Our food came out pretty quickly. Everything looked really good. Nice portion sizes and the food was tasty. We got a summer lovin flatbread and the California panini chicken sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. I wasn't too fond of the aoli. I thought it was a little thick. I think I would have preferred a honey mustard sauce for the fries. Also, the chicken was so thin on the sandwich you could hardly taste it. Sandwich was good but I expected more of a chicken cutlet as opposed to a flattened piece of chicken as you might get at the deli counter. My guy finished first, but I was still eating. The server comes by and asks what we're thinking for dessert. Again, rushed? I was still eating my lunch. We weren't ready to make that decision but now I wanted to finish and go, because, clearly it's the servers favorite table, and must have some attachment to it to be rushing the meal so much. I think the server needs to work on timing. If one in the party is still eating their food, would they really be discussing dessert yet? And to remind all who are reading: it wasn't a busy day yet. Only a few tables were occupied, so I will be docking a star for the service. Overall if not such a rushed experience, I would say: menu good, portions good, comfortable atmosphere. Nice place. Servers need extra training in timing and approach.

They're known for their draft beers and have a big selection to choose from. Our food came out fresh, hot, and delicious, and the drinks weren't bad either--not watered down, which is always a plus. I like getting my money's worth, and I felt like I did here. Good food, decent drinks, and a fun atmosphere. Auntie D gives this one a solid four out of five forks!

A fun, character-filled beer spot, but the food didn't quite live up to the experience…read more I met up with family at The Flying Saucer in the University area. It's seat-yourself, so we had to pull a couple tables together to fit everyone. One thing to note: it was very warm inside, so I'd recommend sitting toward the back where it's more comfortable. My boys really enjoy this place, so I wanted to like it more, but the food was just okay and a bit pricey for what you get. Most items run about $14.99-$21.99, even appetizers are at entrée prices. I ordered the Carne Asada Fries appetizer ($15.99) after hearing they were "fire." The steak had good flavor, but the portion was light--fine for sharing, but not very filling. One entree, Big Dipper ($15.49), a roast beef seemed overcooked and there wasn't much meat on a large bun. Two people from the table ordered pizza. Neither ate more than 2 pieces. On the positive side, the beer selection is excellent, with plenty of options on tap and in bottles and cans--from Guinness to local IPAs. The atmosphere is also unique: plates cover the walls and ceiling from guests who've completed their beer challenge, which makes for a fun, quirky vibe you really have to see in person. Dart boards for those who want to be a bit more active. Overall, it's a great spot for beer and atmosphere, but the food and pricing didn't quite match the experience for me.
