She walks me past the bar towards the bathroom and sticks me a 2 seater table that was dark as crap. Not a hightop. So dark that I sat down and pulled out my phone in order to use the light to read the menu. I say.... "How about that table right there, pointing to the HIGH-Top in the bar... She says..." this is where I need to seat you for service.... ". ???? Since when can you not get service at a bar hightop??? I sit down.... I try to read the menu in the dark .. a waitress walks by me about 4 times ... no acknowledgment not even a how are you. Just walked past .... I get up and leave everything at the table and walk out .... so much for a decent meal and leaving a server a very decent tip. Never again .... I would not even post this if it had not been that this is the second time I've been to Duckworth's and service has just been horrendous. I'm not sure if it's because there is a group of regulars that go there and love the establishment, and gives them high scores but as someone who visits every now and then, and each time over the last six months has received horrible service I just don't understand. The food is not that great, and the service is even worse. I would not recommend this restaurant at any time of the day or night not until they can get either staffing needs straightened out or better food .

Walking up felt like a chain restaurant but walking in felt like the awesome brewery it was. It was about an hour before closing on a Sunday night so it wasn't very busy. I got my usual flight which at Hoptown consists of 4 beers and a water but since it was my birthday they gave me 5. Woohoooo. I got a wheat beer, a Hefe, a Kolsch, an IPA and a hazy pale ale. The beers were all solid, but the Flip Flops (hazy) was my favorite. We sat outside in their courtyard area overlooking an Ice cream shop. They played an eclectic mix of songs from country (blah) to "Walk the Dinosaur" by Was (Not Was). Fun place that makes the best of its suburbia location.

FWIW: don't let anyone tell you that you can't put a price on your health, it's a dollar up-charge from fries to a salad which was a dollar up from the standard slaw... and the raspberry vinaigrette will fight the cidery blueberries all the way - but it's a good salad for a buck each way ;-) BWB burger represents the breed well coming out on a toasted bun with the standard and customary toppings on top and a knife through its head. really, the only thing I'd do different is ask for a small handful salad lettuce instead of the shredded because it eats better that way. prompt attentive team-service could get annoying but it didn't and the salad to burger transition was executed quite well. price point is not abusive and I'm feeling pretty full up as I finish up and get ready to leave. we did alright today and I don't have a reason to derate so I won't :-)

The server came by to take our entree orders and we said we just need a few minutes to look over the menu. Within 1 minute, another server came by to take orders order. We said that we just told the server we need a couple minutes to look at the menu. I'm not sure what the rush was, but it made me feel like they must take orders immediately. For a casual place, with a great playlist by the way, they sure made me feel hurried. The first server came by in a good amount of time, so we finally placed our order. Our food came out pretty quickly. Everything looked really good. Nice portion sizes and the food was tasty. We got a summer lovin flatbread and the California panini chicken sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. I wasn't too fond of the aoli. I thought it was a little thick. I think I would have preferred a honey mustard sauce for the fries. Also, the chicken was so thin on the sandwich you could hardly taste it. Sandwich was good but I expected more of a chicken cutlet as opposed to a flattened piece of chicken as you might get at the deli counter. My guy finished first, but I was still eating. The server comes by and asks what we're thinking for dessert. Again, rushed? I was still eating my lunch. We weren't ready to make that decision but now I wanted to finish and go, because, clearly it's the servers favorite table, and must have some attachment to it to be rushing the meal so much. I think the server needs to work on timing. If one in the party is still eating their food, would they really be discussing dessert yet? And to remind all who are reading: it wasn't a busy day yet. Only a few tables were occupied, so I will be docking a star for the service. Overall if not such a rushed experience, I would say: menu good, portions good, comfortable atmosphere. Nice place. Servers need extra training in timing and approach.
