The stairs looking down leaving the tap room. Yikes!!
    James S.

A craft brewery that is truly a pain to get into! Completely hidden behind a block of antique buildings, in a weird alley way, through a door up a hellish flight of stairs, through another door. Located in some old creepy attic space, straight from 1932. They have a sign out front in another stores window, with a note that says come around to the back door. It was like an old speak easy!! Knock knock.. Joe sent me! It was quite a trek to find this place and actually get in to it. Those stairs are about a 45 degree angle, straight up. I cant see how this is safe.. especially after you have been drinking? Not a good idea. This place is about as low buck as they come. Like some home brewing project on a slightly bigger scale. The service was super friendly, fast and checked on us often. The bartender was great. Thats what the 2 stars are for. They had maybe 6 beers on tap when I was here. One good beer, and some pretty bad ones. Cool idea and story to the place. Get it in a better location and refine the beers. It has some serious potential. I will be back later for another visit. The restroom is another trek across the entire building through a shagging dance club, a food prep area, and down a hall into an old closet. It was clean, but straight from 1932!! And no hot water? Wow. One of the weirdest places I have been. Worst location ever!

A true craft brewery with small batches of truly drinkable art. They cover the standard palate of beer types but are willing to experiment with the likes of strong sours or tropical fruits. It's a garage hobby turned brew pub with the owner pulling the tap. Hail the little guy! Worth searching this place out - hidden off an alleyway, behind a creamery and above a workout gym in the heart of downtown Concord.

Great atmosphere and decor. I love exposed brick and there's plenty of it here. On to the food. I had the Life's Gouda with Bacon burger (2024 Winner). Phenomenal. The bacon jam elevated the flavor profile. My boyfriend had this year's competitor, Ham Jam. I tasted it and the spicy mustard overpowered the flavor of the pulled ham and burger. Half could be put on the burger and be just enough. It wasn't bad but definitely second best to my burger.

But because of the quantity, I ordered 10 wings at $1.70 a wing. You'd expect that to be a decent size Wing. What I got were six. Extremely small wings. Three normal wings and two regular size wings. I brought this to the attention of the people of the food counter the eatery. They said they couldn't do anything about it. I talked to the manager at the end and she just kind of brushed me off. I'm really disappointed it's not what I would usually expect here. So beware of the wings and ask about them before you order them, especially when you're paying that much for a single wing. The beer and the service of the bar was fine

We decided on the their appetizer sampler just to get a feel for their food, and it wasn't a great feel. The wings were burnt, Maybe that's their "style" but it didn't work. They were so dry. The shrooms had too much breading and were also overcooked, thought at least not burnt. The mozzarella sticks were actually decent. The pretzels was good, but some awful beer cheese. I had two of their IPA's and I did enjoy those. Unfortunately not someplace I'd go back to unless someone assured me it was better

Indeed, if the cold North runs through you veins, you'll find house beer and mead aplenty to wet your whistle in an atmosphere that while housed in a modern shopping center, is still somehow appropos. Unfortunately, I had driving to do, so alcohol wasn't in the cards, but the menu appealed to us. We needed some comfort food, so we ended up with an appetizer sampler that included a baked pretzel, jalapeno poppers (instead of the fried ravioli that I guess they were out of), buffalo wings, and mozz sticks. We also got a pizza from the current specials, the spicy hawaiin. We like pineapple on pizza, and definitely prefer pepperoni to ham, and this also included jalapenos... so it sounded right up our alley. FYI, there are no waiters, you simply order at the bar, and they give you a numbered buzzer to pick up your food when ready. I greatly prefer this way of doing things honestly. For the food, honestly... a mixed bag, hence the one star off. The pretzel was great, probably the best of the bunch. Jalapeno poppers were nice and large, good flavor balance of cream cheese and jalapeno. Mozz sticks were mozz sticks. We didn't care for the wings. For one, they weren't tossed in the buffalo sauce, it was just poured over the top, and they also were a tad dry... maybe fried too long. The pizza was a letdown, especially since other reviews were so complimentary of it. The slices were very floppy, it maybe could have used a couple minutes more. The cheese had a nice flavor, but the sauce was not either of our preference. Could have used more pineapple, less jalapeno to balance the bites. Overall, we didn't finish it, and didn't take the leftovers for later. It could just be our personal tastes, so go and decide for yourself. Outside of food, it was trivia night, and people were having a great time. We would have taken part if we were staying longer. I think if I lived in the area, I would still come here, and just figure out what food items are the ones to get and which ones aren't. Great atmosphere, friendly bartender and people.

There was music bingo Sunday afternoons, which sounds fun. But - the DJ had the music so loud that I'm pretty sure people a block over could have participated with no trouble. I like listening to good music, but when you're literally yelling at the people next to you, it's not a great experience. 2. My pet peeve - no changing table in the men's restroom. There's room for it, and Dads should be able to bring their kids out without worrying where they'll be able to change a diaper. I don't know if there was one in the women's restroom, but any place that's open to families should have a changing table available.

One of the things I love most is how dog-friendly it is. On one visit, they even hosted a shelter event with adoptable dogs - very heartwarming to see. I ordered a soft drink from the bar and sat at a high top. It's a large open space inside and they have a good amount of patio seating too. There was a chess club going on and then later in the evening they hosted music bingo, so they definitely have a good lineup of regular activities going on.
