Barley Pop has 40 taps and there is always a cider and kombucha on. You can bring your own bottle and enjoy it there for a $2 corkage fee or sample a variety of beers and go for the 5 or 6 oz. pours so you can try a bunch. Take your favorite or favorites to go in 32 oz. howler (half growler), crowler (32 oz. can), or 64 oz. growler. Expect a crowd on most nights on the weekends and especially for events when they are tapping rare beers or food trucks are present. it is a fun place to try beers and ciders and perfect for locating beers that are hard to track down. Also, you don't have to commit to purchasing an expensive six pack or bomber not knowing if you are going to like it, find it here and get a 6 oz. pour and if you like it have more and/or take some home. With plentiful foods options around you will not have a problem bringing your own food to keep the beers company.

This place is great for after-work happy hours and late night hangs! 40 beers rotate regularly. Awesome beers, really polite staff. Plus, they allow nice Doggos! :)

Highly enjoyed our visit at Barleypop and Tap. They really have a wide range of beers on tap as well as for sale. Be aware though, they still observe the alcohol sales curfew and therefore, no liquor for sale after 9 pm. You can still order beer from the tap though. They don't serve food but you are welcome to bring take-away from many of the local restaurants. Monsoon Siam being right next door.

It's not just a good place to buy beer + growlers for off-sale, it's a nice, modern, cozy bar to drink also. It's pretty well-lit inside, sporting a single pinball machine and impressive bottle/merch displays. With a fairly edgy selection of 30 beers on tap, and needless to say, an endless bottle selection, you'll be in beer heaven. It's basically a calmer, more modern version of Hop Cat. I like it so much, this will go into my Atwood rotation right before Woody & Anne's. The owner was pretty cool, and he mentioned he had the idea of the Seattle-style bottle shop after spending some time at the Chuck's Hop Shop.

Good spot to try some more obscure beers. 40 taps total with two being nitro. I was super happy with how many sours were on tap. Bartender did a great job of making recommendations and offering tasters. Good bottle to go selection. Seemed a bit pricey, so I knocked off one star for that. Not so bad though that I won't come back. I'll stop in again especially with that many sours on tap.

This is my favorite spot to check out new beers. The beer tenders are very knowledgeable and happy to help recommend beers I may like. They let you sample! Which is great for me. When I come in Eric asks me what I'm having, and then I ask him the same exact question, and I'm never disappointed. They are a dog friendly, and you can order food in! It's a perfect place to come after work and hang out!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! With 40 beers on tap I really do not see how you can go wrong. They also provide a massive selection of amazing canned and bottled beer. I came for a Central Waters event and had to go home with an adorable anniversary glass.

This year, I called ahead to ask about wine and beverage cups, and was pleasantly surprised to speak to a real, live person who not only confirmed they had what I was looking for but also told me exactly which aisle it was in. It's refreshing to get that kind of personal touch, especially in a place that might seem like just another big-box store. Located on the south side of West Towne Mall, it's easy to find, well-stocked, and the service goes above and beyond. I'll definitely keep coming back!

Total Wine & More really does a good job providing a wide array of products for a great price. I've been here several times and never leave disappointed (except for one thing that I'll mention later). Their employees know their products and can make smart recommendations based on what you're looking for. Samples? Yes please! At one visit, an employee pointed out a good whiskey that he thought I'd like. Lo and behold, it was one of the samples, so I was able to "try before I buy". I like that. On another visit, I was lured into a back room for a tequila tasting. Not liking, I tried to decline, but was convinced to give them a try - and I was not disappointed. Also, I like how at the front of the store they have racks of "airplane bottles" - small "samplers" that you can buy to try out various products. Again - I like this idea. It was a way for me to try peanut butter whiskey without sinking too much into a larger bottle... So yeah - they're the big guy on the block, but I like the service they provide, and the deals that I get. I would LOVE it if they were able to track down a bottle of Thomas Tew rum. This is a personal goal of mine (I have my reasons), but I understand they are a small brand only found on the east coast. Someday...

But the fried cheese curds were the best item of that day! They came out in a metal pull with ranch to dip them in. I asked for a side of buffalo sauce and tossed the cheese curds in the sauce and that just took them over the top!!!! Service was good. Everyone was friendly. My coworker and I got there at the end of the brunch hour (2 pm) and settled on the things we ordered. After we put our order in they gave us new menus.... They could've gave us a heads up as the lunch menu had more items and more of what we really wanted so that we were a bit frustrated with the staff because of that. Place was cool as it was game day for foot ball so it had people in there cheering and giving the place to life.

Our appetizer arrived at the same time as our food. A big serving no-no. The server should have spaced out our meal. I ordered the fish sandwich and asked for no tartar sauce - I also asked for sweet chili sauce on the side. My sandwich came with tartar sauce on it and no sweet chili sauce. They did end up remaking my sandwich and it was served to me with two slices of cold cheese that hadn't melted yet on the sandwich. Our appetizer pretzel was good but didn't have any salt? Is this normal? Seems odd for a pretzel... My partner ordered the CBR wrap with Buffalo sauce and a side sauce of garlic Parmesan aioli. His sandwich came with no Buffalo sauce and he thought his garlic Parmesan aioli lacked flavor but when I tasted I realized they gave him avocado aioli instead. The fact so much went wrong with the meal had us scratching our heads - was this a kitchen mistake or had our server just totally mis-entered so much of our meal into the system? She did action the changes but seemed confused at first for how to solve my partners no Buffalo sauce request. As a previous server it would have been a no brainer for immediately getting my customer what they originally asked for. The food tasted great, but all around was such a poor experience we won't return. It felt like with all the mistakes there was no sincere apology on the servers end, just a shrug and "oopsies" mentality. There are too many great restaurants in Madison to be spending money at places where service isn't prioritized.

They have a great stock and I believe the employee who was working the day I stopped in genuinely care about me as a customer and my business. I am looking a a specific, rare spirit. Cork N' Bottle's website boasts: "We were established in 1960, so if you're interested in it, we've probably seen it-- whether it's a rare bourbon, limited-edition run from an obscure brewery, or a small-production wine from a tiny appellation in the middle of nowhere. We're passionate about what we sell, and we're dedicated to curating an interesting rotating selection of delicious and sometimes hard-to-find beverages of all sorts. Want a special order? We're your store." So I decided to stop in and when I did, the employee I spoke to was very kind and gave me some tips about how I might find it and suggested that I call on Monday to speak to the employee who handles purchasing for this type of spirit. When I did, the employee I spoke to on the phone was incredibly condescending. It doesn't bother me that the store doesn't have the spirit in stock or the ability to specifically make sure I get a bottle. What bothers me is that the man I spoke to on the phone made me feel stupid for even asking if they may have some come in stock. I understand certain spirits are really hard to come by and it can be frustrating dealing with these type of requests if it's something that is in high demand, but it is exceptionally poor customer service to ridicule someone for asking a question when the website specifically boasts of the business' ability to help find rare bottles. All that being said, they do have a nice selection and the employee I dealt with in the store was delightful. I would consider going back for simple shopping as there didn't seem to be high mark up on things that tend to be harder to come by, but I would not ever ask for assistance from staff again.
