They have some stuff. A lot of the lumber is not good. There's lots of stuff they do not have. That's all the good stuff. It's somewhat expensive. It's cluttered. It's also like a Trump circus, with Trump stuff everywhere. It's also a Charlie Kirk memorial, with lots of Charlie Kirk stuff all over. If you want to have MAGA MAGA MAGA in your face the whole time you're trying to find something, then go here. Very disappointing experience and poor customer service. I came to Barmon Lumber to buy fence boards. There were about 20 boards left in a bundle, and it was clear that previous customers had already picked through the bundle and left the lower-quality boards. I asked them to open a new bundle, and I was willing to take the boards in order according to their policy, but they refused and told me I had to take the leftover boards first. What disappointed me even more was that some employees laughed at me because I don't speak English perfectly. That was very disrespectful and unprofessional. Very poor customer service. Barmon the coolest place and nicest people! Got lots of cool tools, clothes, shoes, paints, stains etc. Ordered just under 400 1x6x6 cedar fence boards. They are the same grade as you would get a HomeDepot. Nicest kid came out and "ploped" a whole tarped bale/pallet board right into the back of my dually. Pulled off the tarp and top 100 boards ( 478 on a bale) and was out of there lickidy split. Paid with tax $742-HomeDepot same checkout would of been $1720. read more

YIKES. Went in to pick up 10# of nails because I wanted to support a local business instead of Lowe's. Got up to pay and I thought the guy said $17.26. I didn't have my glasses, but I thought that was a good price for bulk nails. However, looking at my receipt I see I was actually charged $76.26. WHAT? I was charged $6.99/lb for bulk nails. 16d duplex nails. Lowe's sells them per-packaged in 10 lb for $24. That's right, they sold their nails for $50 MORE than Lowe's. And no returns, all sales final. We're currently building two new construction homes nearby, and I'll guarantee we buy NOTHING else at that place. read more

Old school feel until you get to the lumber piles. They advertise $0.69 lf for the pine T&G if you take the garbage they have in the pile, 2x if you select something without cracks. About 1/3 is usable and the help is marginal. In fact, the last guy that helped me tossed some extra in my pile and told me himself they sold crap. Not much of a vote of confidence. read more

Avoid this place. Bought 125 tongue and groove pine boards. Rented a U-haul with the intentions of hand loading each board. The two loaders did not give me the option and tried to load them with the fork lifts. They ended up breaking 11 boards and the one fork lift operator said we should credit the customer, the old one over ruled and said I should have brought a different truck. Again, I would have had loaded each if given the opportunity. Will not recommend or return. Will drive the 30 minutes to Lowe's. read more

Just moved to the area from Portland, OR which mean I'm also moving a medium sized business here as well. I spend tens of thousands a year in lumber and have been looking for a new place to get wood that isn't Home Depot. A friend recommended that I check out Barmon Lumber in Sultan. Went up there a few days prior to check if they had 4x8 sheets of plywood, and it turns out that they had one kind in the thickness that I needed for a decent price. Decided I would come back a few days later to give them a shot. The old man that runs the place shouldn't be in customer service of any kind. Just kind of rude from the start. His son was cool to me, however, and helped me to get 8 pieces of plywood onto a fork lift so they could be moved to the saw to be quartered. I have an Outback and can't fit whole 4x8 sheets into it, so I need to have them sawed into 2x4 pieces first. The son and the old guy start loading 4x8 pieces onto the wall saw, and immediately, I notice they're using a super old, dull blade, and cutting against the grain, as if they've never done this before. 8 sheets later, I have a stack of *mutilated* wood on the sides from the damage the dull saw blade has done. I literally cannot believe that this is the level of quality I'm getting here, with a piece in my hand that is literally SO DAMAGED, that it's torn the sides up 6 inches into the wood.... I turn to the old guy and ask... is this how you cut all your wood here? He just walks away and says "yep" without missing a beat. I won't be shopping here again, or giving them the tens of thousands of dollars a year I spend on wood for my business. Literally the worst service, and quality you can expect. First off, DO NOT READ THE SHITTY ONE STAR REVEIWS THEY ARE ALL LIES. Second off, if you need it, Barmon has it. I've been shopping there for two years, and everything they carry is quality. I was especially impressed with their hardware section. WAY better than you can get elsewhere. And they have "odds and ends" parts that have saved me many $$$ elsewhere. Their clothing section is really good quality for unbeatable prices. I recently paid 150$ for a pair of Carhartt work boots on amazon, and soon after found out that Barmon has better quality boots for way less than half price for what I paid. My brother bought work boots from there, They're some of the best I've seen. Whether you're building a house, restoring something and need special hardware, (they have some equipment for sale too) Maybe last second winter clothes and supplies, look no further than Barmon Lumber! read more

Check out their clothes section, great prices and new clothes! I love this local family owned business. They are always super friendly and really care about their community. They even built a whole new addition to the front of their store for a new discount clothing section (looks like the bought out of season Costco items). My husband bought a pair of sandals and we found them broken when we got home. He thought it was going to be to much of a hassle to exchange so I took them back fully prepared for an unpleasant process. But I was kindly greeted by the owner's son, he didn't even bother to look at my receipt or care that the purchase was weeks ago. He helped me find a comparable option since they were out of the style that was purchased and we just swapped boxes. By far the easiest return/exchange I've done in a decade. read more

I needed some paneling and they had a good price.Someone had picked up the lift of paneling by the bands w/ a forklift, and damaged the1st 3 pieces.... I was pulling out #4 and was told "Don't pick trough the lumber!" I said "The top 3 are ruined!" .... he says "I bought it, now you have to!" Never again. New RV Battery (NOT) try 5 years old I was camping in the area and needed to replace my RV house battery, got there 10 minutes before closing and purchased what I thought was new, got it installed to find out it was completely dead. I live 70 miles away and although they are willing to give me a refund, it's still a 140-mile round trip. Took the battery into an Interstate dealer and was told that that the battery was over 5 years old and was a reman. Waiting on a call from the owner - will post results. read more

I am buidling a 1,000 sqft deck and have chosen to do my business with Barmon Lumber. I went in with my list of lumber and hardware, I worked with a guy named Kevin who was nice. We had to come back the following weekend to pickup the 5/4" deckboards, about 150 of them. Kevin had them nicely bundled so that we could drop them on a trailer and go. After we unpacked the deckboard I noticed that roughly 50 of them were sub-par quality. I figured that when we asked if we would be able to bring back any unused lumber and was told yes, that this would hold true on sub-par lumber. That's a big no! over $500 of crap lumber that I can't use on my deck and they are not willing to swap out the boards. Do not get your lumber here if you want quality wood, you will not receive it. And apparently despite being told we could bring back unused lumber, it doesn't include the crap wood they sell you. Be forwarned. read more

Don't bother buying railroad ties here unless you want to take home there crap. Owner will not allow any sorting of materials and you have to take it as is. This doesn't work out for people that are actually trying to do good work that doesn't look like crap. One would think that he would actually be able to come up with a pricing system that would accommodate sorting like most places instead of shoving garbage on you. Most of the materials in the yard have been left to the elements and appear to be rotten. I had bought other items there trying to be supportive of a local business and employees, but why bother if I'm going to get this kind of treatment. My family and I have shopped at Barmon Lumber for nine years. We purchase our entire winter supply of pellets from them, as well as misc screws, wood, tools, etc. Today, in the middle of a global pandemic, I needed to go in for pellets and discovered two employees and two customers not wearing the state mandated facial coverings. After mentioning this to the young man who helped me I called the owner Dan to remind him that it is now a law that he and his employees and customers wear a face covering while indoors. I was essentially called a "looter" (what??), told that masks don't work, and that if I didn't like the way he does business I shouldn't shop there. Besides the obvious fact that he's breaking the law and endangering his employees and his customers who come into the store he doesn't seem to realize that he, his customers, and employees could be asymptomatic and spreading the disease around outside his store as well. Which impacts the community as a whole. Unacceptable. read more

I love the fact that you can load your truck from the warehouse and not have to push a cart around full of lumber/concrete like at Lowe's, the quality of lumber could use some attention, but great customer service I've been doing business with them for over 15 years and if the lumber I'm using will be covered up by drywall or under the house out of sight I will buy from barmens if it's going to be visible unfortunately I have to go to Lowe's due to the poor grade. read more

I live roughly a mile from Barmon Lumber and I drive to Monroe every time I need lumber, for the last 9 years. Most of their lumber is left in the weather and you are not permitted to pick and choose the wood you want so expect 20-30% of what you buy to be damaged or warped. They are also significantly higher priced than every other supplier in the area. read more

I'll begin this review with a confession that I have shopped here for a few years but never for lumber. The service has a locals-low-key feel of genuine hellos and thank you's. No frills. Always honest answers. They do have special buys that are pretty tough to beat. I have bought their 2200 lbs pallet of wood pellets for our horse stalls. (The no glue variety). Easily $100 cheaper than anywhere. I bought my rain gear here - professional grade stuff at great prices and a ice variety of colors and sizes. Dickies are the best bargain anywhere. They don't always have my size but when they do, I buy two. Heavy denim for cheap are great for weekend warrior projects. I've also bought some flannel shirts they had - again, great prices and variety. I may buy some lumber from them someday - why not?! read more

They have an extraordinary inventory - they always seem to have what I need. And the service is terrific. The owner is hands-on so the place is well managed. Good prices on discontinued and factory second items, but beware of what you buy. Products have been known to sit on the property for years! Don't expect to get a deal for buying in bulk. They aren't fond of outsiders and the customer service/support is desperately lacking. read more

Drove from Puyallup to Harmon lumber for some T1-11. They loaded our 20 sheets & over 1/2 are damaged. We asked to get the next 20 in the stack. As it looked a whole bunch better. He said you get these or I'll refund you. I love little out of the way lumber, hardware stores. I won't be supporting this lumber store in the future. Watch what you buy. Even at a good price the damage isn't worth it. read more

I went in to buy some basic rubber work boots that had been recommended to me by a male coworker. When I arrived, the staff were generally unfriendly and when I inquired about the boots an older gentleman simply pointed to a wall on the other side of the store. "All we got is over there", he said. Clearly, no one had any intention of coming to helping me. I looked and did find the particular boots, but was unable to discern if there was any sizes smaller than a men's 10. When I walked back and asked an employee if they had smaller sizes, he told me he didn't know. I paused, surprised that he wasn't going to try to figure it out. Then I said "Okay..." and walked out of the store, no one saying a word to me as I left. I don't know if this is some issue with me being a woman or if they are just generally rude/standoffish but all around it was very poor customer service and I don't recommend doing business here. read more

I responded to and advertised price on 5/4 cedar decking, called the yard to confirm pricing then headed down to buy. When I got there I was told that price was for eight foot boards only, and there was an up-charge for random long lengths. I reluctantly agreed although feeling had. paid for my order and delivery. When the lumber package arrived it was less than 20% usable with the rest having planer mark, missing knot holes and grade stamps. The biggest flaw was all the wood was MOLDY. I called and spoke with Dan Barman ( owner). He defended his inferior product but would allow me to bring the wood back and hand sort through his mountain of bad wood to find enough for my project. When told him I didn't have the time to invest in this and he could come get his unsalable product; he responded with " If I send my truck out I'm going to bill you another delivery charge". Bottom line I paid over $300 to have his truck bring and return crappy product to me( less than 15 minutes from his yard). PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DAN BARMAN. He is only interested in your $ not service or product quality. read more

Large lumberyard with good prices and wonderful help. If these were seconds, I couldn't tell it; it looked like the quality I would see at Lowe's or other business. Things are a bit spread out but they are happy to walk you around to show you what they have, if you have a project that needs a fix but are not sure which is the best option (in my case, something to work as a ridge cap for a chicken tractor). Rudy showed me the options and was very helpful and friendly. It was easy to get in and out, and they have a huge brass gong in lieu of a countertop bell, and you can ring it if you want to---who wouldn't? I'll go again. read more
