I hired Barn Owl bakeries for a cake for my husbands military retirement and honestly what I received was embarrassing to put out at his ceremony. The cake was cracked in multiple places and most importantly the images were very bubbled and looked awful. They were also laid unevenly, the sizes of the images were not what was asked for, and the lettering was also slanted and uneven underneath. When I let Kimberly know how unhappy I was with it, she stopped responding. I received multiple comments on how sloppy it was and was even asked if I tried to make it myself. I was looking for options to buy a birthday cake for my partner and came across Barn Owl Bakeries. It was the Friday before Labor Day and I thought id be out of luck with needing a cake for Tuesday, but I decided to give it a try anyways. Kimberly answered right away and I was able to get the cheesecake I wanted ordered with 0 issues. When I came to pick up on Tuesday she had a sign outside just so that I knew exactly where to go and I thought that was such a nice touch. I also had to push back my time by 30 mins and she was accommodating of that and very sweet about it. The cheesecake itself was delicious. It was exactly as described as far as texture goes: creamy with the right amount of sweet and a yummy tasting crust. The strawberries added on were a nice touch but I took off half of a sandwich baggies worth before putting the cake out and although they did taste great with the cake I wouldn't say i'd add that particular part again. (If it ever becomes a purée option im back in!!) Any other baked goods or cake that I will need for a birthday or special occasion i'll be ordering from Barn Owl Bakeries moving forward! I was hosting a 65-person birthday party for my father on 5/6 at noon. On 5/5 at approximately 5 pm I called Barn Owl Bakeries, in TEARS because the cake I ordered from a DIFFERENT vendor was built incorrectly and completely collapsed on itself. Even though they were completely booked, they agreed to make me a three tiered cake, very similar to the one I was supposed to get from the other vendor and have it delivered the next day. They stayed up all night making the cake for me and had it delivered on time! As to the taste of the cake, it was DELICIOUS and I received so many compliments on it. Guests were asking to take home pieces for later or to share with family. My father was even a little annoyed I gave some of it away! He wanted it all for himself! lol. I truly have no words for the kindness and compassion Barn Owl Bakery showed myself and my family this weekend. I will be recommending them and purchasing from them again in the future!
