Love this place! Compared to other B&Ns I've visited, this location has more selection on everything, especially their toys, which is what I usually come for. I've gotten few Lego sets here and just about every one of the portrait ones. I come around every few days and there's always a new set that's usually hard to find in stores like Walmart or Target. Picked up the sunflower set this time and it was priced the same as what you'd pay on Amazon. Was fortunate to get the only one they had and looking forward to building it! This location also has a Starbucks located in the back, so you can sip on some drinks & snacks while reading. If you're a Pokemon Go player, there are multiple gyms and poke stops so I also like to chill and play the game at Starbucks. read more

This B&N is attached to Augusta Mall but has a private entrance. It is busy! I love to shop locally but could not get this book, which I was dying to read. I was, and BINGO, they had it! I could not resist looking at all the other books while there; they are organized well. I like the little cards they have that suggest different books. I walked out with a few extras to add to my existing library. What I like about B&N is that they are clean, the staff is friendly, and it is well organized. I did not even go to look at the bargain books - but they do have a bid display. If you are interested in cooking, toys, booklights, or journals, they also have those as well. read more

Apparently time is an issue for this location. We got here at 850pm and the website says it closes at 11pm Saturday. Older lady that meets us just loudly lets us know they close in 10 minutes and that the mall is already closed so they're closing? I don't know but they need to update their hours. read more

If you know me well enough, you know I am about local. Also, I love books. So finding myself here (for a meeting) was not the most exciting. But as I usually do, I was early so I took the time to walk the place. There are positive attributes about this store that cannot be denied. They are organized, they carry plenty of copies of the top sellers, they are tidy, and they provide an adequate amount of seating for people who want to read while there. I had forgotten about the size of their journals section, periodicals, and music. They have a hefty amount of vinyl (old and new albums) to choose from. Anyone who has been there at least once knows there's a Starbucks in the center so your caffeine and snack needs are met. I did find the team friendly and will keep them in mind if needed in the future. read more

This is a nice Barnes & Noble. It's in the Augusta Mall. It's quite large but only one story. There are a lot of bargain books and toys here. They even had some past holiday Godiva chocolate on sale here which is great because that stuff is so overpriced. Their Funko pop section is a little scarce but I did find a good one for like half off! read more

This particular location of Barnes and Noble is not anything amazing by any definition. It's the only one in the city, so of course I'll have to settle. If isn't as big as most B&N are (assuming because it is indeed attached to the Augusta Mall). I just don't find the selection here that I feel like I would at your typical stand alone B&N (especially one in a larger city). But, this place does have a DECENT selection I suppose in comparison to other bookstores in the area. Pretty cleanly and there is a Starbucks inside (which I hate to visit because the people sitting over there are always so loud when I come), as well as a section for kids of course. read more

The selection has clearly moved to almost exclusively new issues of books. There are relatively fewer books like Bukowski and even children's books that came out less than 5 years ago. They have an expanded music section but the stock is exactly the same generic stuff 2nd and Charles has at the same price. The staff is generally helpful and genuinely wants to get you what you want but often times has to refer you to ordering it from their website unless it's a hot off the press new release or required school reading. The bathroom was a wreck and typically is but I don't know if maybe it's because it's a mall location. The Starbucks inside is not actually a "real" Starbucks in that they don't have the ability to take Starbucks cards. The Starbucks staff explained it is some sort of "partnership" and they aren't a full store. That being said the drinks were as good as any other Starbucks. read more

I preface this review having been to this location on multiple occasions prior to today. I had some time so I thought I would see if any new books were available for a tech geek like myself so I started perusing from the business section to the travel section finally ending at the periodicals and as I stop to look at book titles that catch my attention I notice when I stop, like clockwork someone comes around the corner on the same aisle as I. I love B&N because they have a decent member discount and they are building up more sections for diversity. BUT...Every place I stop, I am shadowed!... Why should this matter you say, well as I made my purchase and stopped at Starbucks to order an expresso, a lady sits down in front of me with six magazines (unpaid for) Guess what? No shadowing! A few minutes later, her husband sits down with three magazines (unpaid for) and guess what..no shadowing! So me being the inquisitive traveler I am, I wait until the couple is done reading and as they leave with magazines in hand, walking in the direction of the magazine racks I notice they put the magazines back and GUESS WHAT..Yep..no shadowing. I have a love for books that has probably contributed to my having to wear glasses. When digital books started coming out I resisted them because of the pure joy I feel when turning the crisp pages of a new book. It's for this reason that Barnes & Nobles holds a special place in my heart, so much so that I finally got a membership card this past January. This B&N is located in the Augusta Mall. I don't know if it's because it is in a mall that makes the ambiance feel different than traditional locations, but a lot of people seem to come in here just to flee from their other half who may be shopping to oblivion, so it does get crowded by people who otherwise would not be spending their time looking for a book. Because of this, sometimes it can appear to be messy because people take things off the shelves and don't put them back. The employees are super amicable and ready to help without hesitation. There is also a B&N Cafe which serves Starbucks coffee (you get 10% off with your B&N Membership Card, but they don't accept Starbucks rewards). There are goodies there like Cheesecake Factory cheesecake slices, various tarts, etc that you won't find at a regular Starbucks. There are plenty of seating areas which enable people to grab a book or magazine and get comfortable. There is a parking lot outside of the outdoor entrance but weekends are packed so you'll likely have to use one of the other parking lots and access the store from the inside. Definitely a pleasant place to be especially for a bookworm...I just wish that it wasn't located in the mall! read more

This is the only original price bookstore in this area. There use to be several in the area I don't know what happened but we are left with this one. The selection is great here. You can find almost anything you are looking for as far as literature and magazines. There is also a Starbucks in this bookstore which offers WIFI. You can see several people enjoying themselves and using the WIFI at any given time of the day. When I'm in the mall I always stop here and read as many of the current magazines as I can. This was a favorite past time of mine when there were more bookstores in this area. The staff is very competent and also very attentive. Whenever I'm in here I also come out with a peace of mind!!! read more

Barnes and Nobles seems to keep thriving in the face of so many brick and mortar bookstores closing. I believe we went from 4 to 1 over the years. I remember when B&N was on Augusta West Parkway and I love and still long for that location. Maybe I'm nostalgic but after putting in many hours of studying for nursing school there, I miss the ambience. As younger nursing students we met there to study in groups and drink coffee. Even when I wasn't studying, I loved the comfortable chairs that you could flip through a magazine or get a preview of a book you wanted to buy. I never imagined that they would move away from that but that's what happened when they moved to the mall. In spite of my nostalgia, I'm not terribly disappointed with the mall location. I think it's modern where the older location reminded me of a very large grandfather's study (in the best way possible, of course). The Starbucks is there so expensive coffee drinkers may unite! Everything else is not far removed from the old location. I think the only complaint I have is that it takes too long to check out. They are much too slow to ask another cashier to help out when the line begins to grow. While I'm sure everyone is happy about reading books on their electronic devices, I'm not one of them. I like the feel of a book in my hand and that I can throw it around or toss it in a bag for those lulls when waiting. I pray there are many like me because I'd hate to see another bookstore close. read more

One of my favorite Barnes and Nobles. The bookstore itself has a large selection of books and the cafe has plenty of seating. One of the few Barnes and Nobles I frequent where I can just about ALWAYS find a seat in the cafe to get some studying in. Also, the internet here is surprisingly fast compared to other Barnes and Nobles I've been to, mainly in the Atlanta area. Lots of books, the people are quite helpful and energetic, and positive as well. Wide variety of books, and the bargain books near the register are tremendous. My only gripe is the Starbucks, it's owned by the store and not a Starbucks property, so I can't use my Starbucks card there. Major, MAJOR downer for my review. and it's unfortunate, that's a 1-1.5 star reduction in my eyes for that. The children's book section could also be larger in my opinion, they also have some games, puzzles, and language aids too. The store isn't bad all in all, a regular stop when I'm visiting. read more

This is a great bookstore. We don't buy a ton of books here (mostly a digital household), but we always spend some time here when we're at the mall. My kids love the reading nook and kids' section tucked off in the back. The Starbucks cafe is what hooks me. The goods are the same as you're going to find at any other location - I find the Starbucks fare a bit too sweet, but you can always order it toned down. If you'e waiting on service from a store in the area, waiting for a spouse to do some shopping, or just feeling like a lazy Saturday morning, this is a tough place to beat. read more

The fact that it has a Starbucks gives it an extra star. Also has a large, spacious children's reading area (see pic) that is usually not too crowded. Like other Barnes and Nobles I've been to, this place is perfect for grabbing a coffee, book, and comfy corner to pass some time. read more

The prices are a bit high compared to other online businesses but they have a good selection of Bargain priced books, and other deals that make them price comparable with other companies. The employees are helpful and the store is organized in an easy to follow layout with plenty of seats to browse books if you are so inclined to do so. A very nice place to hang out and relax while deciding if the book you are browsing is worth the purchase price. read more

Bookstore has a Starbucks but doesn't accept Starbucks cards?! What is the point? Horrible concept....

I ordered a cookbook through Barnes & Noble using one of their resellers I believe. The price of the book was really inexpensive then, of course, there's shipping which quadrupled the price. I received my book yesterday BUT it wasn't the book I ordered. It was a book I have zero interest in. Sent Barnes & Noble an email and was told it wasn't their problem. I would need to return it for a refund. Let's see how the math works book - purchased book for $1.99 (I thought that was a steel but it was used. Shipping $4.99, Tax $0.56, Total $7.54. Now I would need to return this crappy book for approx $5.00 (it's a pretty big book and it's a hardcover) and they'll be nice enough to return my $1.99. So it would cost me approx $10.55 for their screwup!! What a rip off. I would stay away from Barnes & Noble and "their" resellers. Not only incompetent but not accountable. read more

While I don't love the actual location as much as other B&N locations, I do love this store for other reasons. I started a book club here in January and was new to the process and was nervous as to what to expect. The staff here is wonderful and goes out of their way to ask how the book club is going, what we are reading next, set up an area for us, etc. I look forward to coming here every month for book club and actually just enjoy coming in here to stroll and flip through books (usually cookbooks... they have so many!!!) There hasn't been a time that I've gone in there that someone hasn't started a conversation past the typical greetings and I really love that about this store in particular. read more

I really enjoy coming here. I brought the little ppl here for storytime, that starts at 10 and not 10:30. It is every Wednesday and it's great for the kids. My son enjoys the Thomas and Friends track that is available for them to play. They also have the hands on learning station with the legos. My daughter loves to walk around with Abby (which is alreay owns). The Starbucks could be bigger, but it's cool too. I always find what I am looking for when I come in , and being a member has its perks too. It is a great place to study and relax. They also have so many educational toys for all ages, some which I think are over priced. The gift of reading never grows old, so when I don't know what to give, I stop in here and grab a great read as a gift. The kids are never ready to leave, which can be a good and a bad thing. I really enjoy coming in here, it is kid friendly and that makes it easy for me to come in and spend some coins! read more

Great selection of books!! They have almost everything. If not, it's probably online on their website. There's a Starbucks cafe in the middle back of the store. The food on display looks so delicious! There's chairs placed throughout the store so you can actually sit down and read a book or magazine if you want to do so. Honestly, I have never purchased a book from Barnes and Noble. I know that sounds bad, but hear me out. I have a Kindle and a lot of my book purchases are from Amazon. However, I do enjoy Barnes and Noble for having coffee and getting a little work done on the computer. Now this particular Barnes & Noble location has a Starbucks inside. It has plenty of seating for the use of computers or meetings. It's also quiet. It is the most quiet of the area Starbucks. I'm guessing that because it's a bookstore and people kind of lump it in with library. So, library etiquette applies. The staff is nice and seem to know regulars. This is the staff at both the store and the Starbucks. The magazine section is the best because they have them all. Alot of publications I didn't know existed until visiting the magazine section. Also, they have movies and a section for those. This is a great place to visit for coffee and a sit down in the middle of the week, but it is pretty busy during the weekend. This is also the hangout/hideout for Men during the holiday. This place was packed with guys during the Christmas shopping period. Lol! Makes sense. That's easily 3 hours to blow. Parking is easy during the week, but you'd probably be pushed out to the larger parking lot during the weekend. I like this location. I'll continue to visit. read more

This is a great location. I was looking for a book, and went to the customer service desk to find out about the location of the book. There was a guy and a girl at the counter, and it was apparent that the girl was being trained by the guy, and she was nervous. She looked it up on the computer and they took me right to where it was. He was very patient with her and he seemed helpful. The store was very clean, and all employees were very nice. read more
