    Starbucks in Barns and Nobles

I love coming here I always leave with books that I didn't plan on getting, all the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful the books rang on price but for the most part I don't think the prices are bad.

I thought horses lived in Barnes. I didn't find any in here.

There's nothing noble about making horses live in cramped little Barnes. All the books here are 99.95. Oh wait, what I meant is, this is review #9995 for me. I like bookstores as much as the next person but the problem with this one is that it is extremely corporate as you probably know. It used to compete directly with Borders and at least they could keep each other's prices down, but Borders was the cool one, whereas BN was the stuffy and expensive one. These days it's just pretty much BN having a monopoly on major bookstores, and it's even worse cuz bookstores in general are starting to go out of business so you have the whole sympathy vote as they're trying desperately to stay relevant and you won't see many competitive deals in here anymore. This one in particular is massive and a nice place to hang out and read stuff, and it has a Starbucks inside it. What could be more corporate than that? I believe these stories often do. Nobody offered to help while I was browsing in here the most recent time, but that's fine.

Book stores are much more harder to find now but this place I always come out with a book. But you can find a book but also sit and relax browse. Go into the kids section and find a book, a toy or a fun puzzle to play with. You can join the Barnes and noble card club and get discounts on everything you buy including the Starbucks inside the McKinley mall store. Fun time and you can spend the whole day here and enjoy some reading.

I came here last night to use two gift cards that I had from more than a year ago. When I was near the help desk/manager area, a hand washing alarm went off. They have hand sanitizer everywhere but every half hour, the associates must go and wash their hands. If you don't want to come inside you can buy items online and choose to pick them up at the store and then a manager will run them out to your car. It seems convenient and great. They didn't have a book I needed for my mom, so I bought her something else. ( I bought her a Mitch Albom book. The local author uses a small local publishing company so her book is only sold at one or two spots.) I found some great books for myself and items for others. The store was very clean and brightly lit. They had many hand sanitizer spots set up throughout the store. I think they are also limiting the number of people allowed in the store. There wasn't a long wait to be cashed out. (Paper bags are five center each here but I declined.) The cashier was very kind, courteous and efficient. I'll definitely return in the future. (Yelp isn't posting the pictures of the other items I purchased. I bought A Raisin in the Sun. I'm looking forward to reading that.)

Lots of space, nice and helpful employees, not crowded at all, and it's right in the mall too! :)

I was surprised at the good selection available at this small bookstore - I found some treasures in…read morethe sci-fi / fantasy section and have my eye on several others. They also have a nice selection of stickers and some other fun book-themed goods (mugs, candles, etc) so it's a nice place to find gifts for a book lover. This isn't a place to spend hours in but well worth a stop (especially if you are also checking out Rust Belt across the street). Pricing is decent and staff is friendly.

This store was highly rated so I decided to check it out. On entering I was warmly greeted and…read morestarted looking around. It's a very small store, and there are not as many books in stock as I am used to seeing in other used bookstores, but they are well organized (better than most used book stores) so it all balances out. I found a book of poetry by Billy Collins that I decided to buy, and continued browsing. A gentleman decided to engage the owner (the only employee there) in a protracted conversation about her store and the bookstore across the street, Rust Belt Books. The owner, apparently only too happy to talk about her store was so focused on talking to the guy who had already made his purchase that she never acknowledged me hovering around the front of the store waiting to make mine. I waited at least five minutes before finally putting my book back on the shelf. If you want to talk books and bookstores fine, but if you want to SELL books you need to pay better attention. Your store is not THAT great!
