A hidden cozy hipster cafe with a bookstore & seating. This place is very cute and the people that work there are welcoming. Their breakfast/lunch food looked and smelled really good. It was a good place for me to work on my laptop without feeling overstimulated, it would also be a great place to just escape & read a book.

This is by far the best coffee shop in the Buffalo area. As soon as you walk in it feels warm and inviting, like coming home from a long vacation. Ordering coffee was easy and the barista was friendly. I ordered the Iced campfire latte and it was phenomenal. I wish I ordered food cause I heard great things (I plan on doing so next time). After I got my coffee I walked around a bit and entered the bookstore. I was greeted by Eileen who is a national treasure whom I'll protect at all costs. She gave me a tour, explained how they are a nonprofit to put on programs and help local organizations in Buffalo. They have a wide selection of books, including a kids section and local authors. They even do local author signing events. I honestly wish I lived in southtowns just to become a regular here cause I'd be there everyday. It's well worth the drive for me and I will absolutely go again. If the owner or anyone who works there reads this- please keep doing what you're doing, I haven't experienced such a warm greeting from a place in so long I forgot they existed.

Stopped in last weekend for a breakfast sammy - the egg sandwich to be exact - and as always it was freaking delish. It isn't always consistent with the ingredients because it looks like there are a lot of younger kids that work there but its usually pretty good. The weekend before I order this and it was WAY over salted to the point that I couldn't finish my sandwich so I hope that doesn't happen again. I love that it comes with fresh fruit, but the type does vary. They have a lot of specialty drinks available each month and offer lots of free programs for kids and seniors.

Hey Gaymin Phatt here I wanna say great establishment but I find there to be a lack in ambition still great food

This little coffee shop/bookstore had rave reviews and decided to meet my friend for early lunch last week when she was off. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, even though it may have changed owners over the years it still remains a staple in the South Buffalo area. The staff were extremely friendly, the tables were marked off to abide by the COVID 19 guidelines, hand sanitizer was found on the table and your food was brought to you. My friend order the Charles Dickens, and I ordered the Jungle. I've always been a fan of paninis from local places and this sure didn't disappoint. Loved the mix of fresh chicken, goat cheese, sun dried tomato, roasted pepper and asparagus. In the back of the store is there is a hidden jem of a spiral staircase, and a bookstore that showcases local authors . The store has even a children section, local authors and something other interesting finds.

A relaxing cafe. And great bookstore in back

Tried this place for the first time today and loved it! The food is great and is made fresh to order. They sell books and candles. You can also bring your dog in with you to order if you want and sit in the outside patio. Lots of flavors for lattes and they had fresh baked goods too. Definitely will be back!

They have a wide variety of genres, with a truly amazing volume of books fit into their modest shop. My favorite sections to peruse are their literature section (great way to fill out your home library with the classics at an affordable price) and a fun section towards the front called something to the effect of Interesting Lives (just what it sounds like - a well curated section to find someone's story that's sure to be captivating or meaningful, perfect for those like me who avoid non-fiction but would love the right biography or memoir). The staff is friendly but leaves you to browse at your leisure, and the atmosphere is great with the stacks to the ceiling and the chill music in the background. One element that's a great added bonus is their punch card system - spend $30 on used books and get $5 towards your next used book purchase. As if the place wasn't already more affordable than most other book retailers! If you're looking for that "I'm in the movie of my life, romantically browsing the stacks with chill music playing in the background, lost in the world of books" moment, Westside Stories is your place. And, if you're looking for a specific book it's worth a quick call to see if they have it in stock - better to put the money in a local pocket, and get the book used for a great deal.

I was surprised at the good selection available at this small bookstore - I found some treasures in…read morethe sci-fi / fantasy section and have my eye on several others. They also have a nice selection of stickers and some other fun book-themed goods (mugs, candles, etc) so it's a nice place to find gifts for a book lover. This isn't a place to spend hours in but well worth a stop (especially if you are also checking out Rust Belt across the street). Pricing is decent and staff is friendly.

I'd drive 45 minutes for a book hug--and I do…read more There are a lot of reasons to love Hamburg, NY--but at the top of my list is Turn the Page Used Books, a charming little haven where the books are used, the prices are kind, and the smell of paper and stories hits you in the face like a warm, nostalgic high-five. Once upon a time, I lived just 6 minutes from this gem. Now I live 45 minutes away, and I still make the trip. Why? Because walking into this place is my version of therapy. Yes, I'm the weirdo who openly sniffs the books. No, I'm not sorry. The selection is outstanding. I won't swear they have every genre under the sun, but I will say I've never left empty-handed--and I read everything from thoughtful nonfiction to weird fiction to "why is this cover so dramatic?" suspense novels. They've also got a fantastic large print section, which makes me look like a great daughter when I stock up for my mom. (Let's ignore that I walk out with twice as many for myself.) The staff? Lovely. Friendly. Helpful. Basically your dream book club, minus the pressure to finish the book on time. If you're into books and warm vibes, you're already one of the gang. Highly recommend. Bring a tote bag. Or three.

I left with a literal armful of books today and it's probably for the best that I had set myself a time limit for browsing. The sections are clearly labeled and sorted by author. If you're treasure hunting for favorite authors, bring a list, because you will want to look for ALL of them. Bonus: easy to see pricing, and very reasonable. Plus the staff was friendly of course! (and they have a step-stool if you're short and want the books on the top shelf because of course I do.)
