Not my favorite B&N. Vibe can feel pretentious & unwelcoming. Asked if they had a magazine in-stock & was given a mix of insults & excuses. "Are you sure this title is in print?" ME: Yes, for sure. "Because..." ME: Because lots of magazines have gone digital, I'm aware, this is for sure in print. "This could be a magazine that only grocery stores carry." ME: Well I've purchased it here before, not specifically this store, but Wyomissing location. "Oh, well, we clean up our magazines, they don't do their job there." A simple, "Iooks like we don't have it" will suffice. I kinda wanna say (but don't) you have a lot of attitude for a store that has a broke-azz escalator & none of the magazines I want. It's unnecessary to run down another location & the point is wasted, cause if Wyo "not doing their job" means a broader selection of magazines to choose from, guess where I'm heading next time! At the register I'm asked if I want to use my rewards which are greater than the purchase I'm making. I reply sorta rhetorically, sure so long as I won't lose the difference. Said to me sarcastically, "Yeah, we're just gonna throw them all away!" WTF. Glad I was having a chill day & didn't respond w/ equal sarcasm, "right, cause rewards, points, coupons, these things never expire or have rules." No seating. Tight cafe area. There is a whole bunch of books to choose from. They still have a lot of the exclusive and deluxe editions. The value this weekend was great! They also have a clearance section which actually has some books and items to choose from. There were many sales associates available to ask questions and help you find what you need. read more

My experience here made me nostalgic, going back to the days of studying for 8-hour board exams. Love being able to have Starbucks and eat better food than actual Starbucks. Cheesecake and other treats are great for stressful study sessions. 13 years later, I'm not coming here as much, but I noticed this location nearby and decided to give it a shot while I did some work. I really missed the experience. This particular location is clean, and has everything I expected from a B&N. Bro I was just looking to see if they had a book on the computer that I thought was public and had hand sanitizer next to. I used the hand sanitizer then began searching when I hear a staff member approach and say "I dont know if you know but there's a covid thing going on" and then proceed to embarrass me in front of the store regardless of me apologizing profusely. Like, I'm sorry you have a computer positioned in the middle of your store facing publicly with hand sanitizer next to it. Like what do you want me to think? Like and you let people want around and touch books and DVD's and have your cafe open and I can't use the computer? What backwards s*** is that?!? I'm not stupid, I know there's a f***ing pandemic going on. That doesn't entitle you to treat me like a child. I've never reviewed a B&N before, but this one won my heart because of the woman I spoke to on the phone. I was a few days from starting my first grad school course, and didn't realize I needed a book. Not only did she find me BOTH books I needed (three other bookstores could not), she found them on clearance! When I got there they were both placed aside for me and I had an easy time checking out, as it is in a near empty plaza. It is too far to make it my regular B&N but happy I came here. read more

If you are old, don't expect customer service. My latest experience with this phenomenon happened yesterday when I waited in line for ten minutes at check-out only be told to move out of line when I took a minute to select the right gift card. Earlier that afternoon, I tried to ask an employee a question and was completely ignored. If you are young, you'll get plenty of attention. I once had a young man step in front of me and ask for a book while I was politely waiting. The staff member went off with the young man. Great store but an unconscious or ageist staff. read more

I love, love, love this bookstore. Let's be real. It's a chain, it's not special, and I'm not going to recommend making a trip here because it'll change your life, 'cause it won't. It's a Barnes & Noble. But it was a staple of my teenage years out in the 'burbs of Philly. I loved this huge bookstore silly. I'd hang out with friends here, or come here by myself to sip on a caramel frappuccino and peruse the latest releases. I loved the movie selection and often raided the bargain bin, saving up my lunch money so I could take home a new film. When you live in the boonies, even massive chains take on their own appeal. I still sometimes meet friends here when I'm in town. This B&N has a place in my heart forever. read more

I come here to read books, magazines, and to hang out with friends. The Starbucks Cafe is a plus since i am a Starbucks fan. I come here to study as well, but there are only 4 plugs total in the entire cafe sitting area, so not enough plugs for studying. read more

I started coming here after work to de-compress, get some work done (I'm a small business owner) and to sometimes wait out rush hour traffic before driving back to Philly. It's quintessential Barnes and Nobles in all its glory. All the vibes that made me fall in love with this place are here - quiet but not too quiet, good music selection, late enough hours (usually til 10) a decent book selection (I frequent the art/photography and reference sections). You could literally sit for hours, unbothered and I love it. It also seems as though there is always something new in, which is always nice. I do however wish they had more seating throughout - There are a total of 3 tables on the second level - more tables would be nice, unless loitering is discouraged. Also, the customer service in the Starbucks cafe can be hit or miss. It bothers me when you're waiting in line and you hear them ask customers ahead of you if they are B&N members. Then they get to you and they just go straight to your order. Low and behold, yes, I am a B&N member and yes, I would also like a discount on my coffee. Thank you, thank you very much. read more

This is a nicely sized two story Barnes and Noble located right off 202. There is a cafe on the first floor and plenty of seating scattered about. They seem to be a pretty popular location and they carry a decent selection. The employees are helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend. read more

This Barnes & Noble store had a big promotion stating that they would have the character Olaf from Frozen last night (Aug 1st). My wife even called before the event and they confirmed that Olaf would be there. My daughter was very excited for this event (and so were many other kids) and when they got there, NO OLAF! Thank you Barnes & Noble for breaking the hearts of many children and for wasting a Friday night for so many families. read more

Convenient location, great store. Clean, nicely set up, easy to navigate, and great customer service! There are 2 floors and a escalator that takes you up. Handicap-friendly with an elevator located on the ground floor. Only con is that there aren't enough outlets in the cafe area (located on 2pillars) so you have to wait around for it. read more

A dozen parents and children waited around for story time on tues at 11:00am. No one showed. After 30 mins of no staff even coming to say they did not have anyone to read to the kids we let them know a dozen moms with upset kids are still waiting and they had nothing to say other than the person called out and no one else would go up to read. Why the store manager did not have the decency to come over and tell us and left 12 moms and cranky kids to keep waiting for now 40 mins was so unfair. read more

Barnes & Noble Booksellers has designed their store shelving so that it is impossible to reach the top shelves in the Romance section (and other sections). Although the floor staff (if you can find someone) is willing to help, you have to know which book you want. Browsing is a big part of finding the right book, and it is impossible to reach the top shelves (unless you want to risk using the library stools that are provided). I spoke with the manager, and was told that the store set-up is not going to be changed because the layout is done by a designer from Corporate. How do you sell books if customers can't reach them? The store is definitely not user-friendly, unless you are 6 feet tall! read more
