Solid bookstore, although the prices are a bit higher than you'd like and they don't offer any used books, which is annoying. Also the store was uncomfortably warm which made it difficult to browse for as long as I'd want to. Bathroom situation: it was reasonably clean, although there was a slight aroma of rotting death. I like the books they have for he kids section but I am still in hunt for books that play rhymes and I could not find any. . Most of the time I do not find a team Member to help me find a book so I get disappointed. The books which I got is nice but I just find It pricy for games and other things. I highly suggest to have a membership as it gives you discount and the Starbucks in this store is a good place to sip your coffee and read books but doesn't not have enough chairs. read more

And the staff is always excited and helpful...except for the one guy at the register that always seems upset. ‍ Most of the time Amazon can beat them on price but sometimes I want/need the book instantly and B&N always has it. And I'll usually find a new author through their discounted hard backs in the front. Their kids section is great and the "fake" Starbucks is nice for meetups and book clubs. *fake because they don't take SB cards, points, app. but it's similar menu and taste. read more

I have been a B&N member for decades. The recent membership rate hike is just too much and seems greedy and unwitting. From hence forth, I will purchase my books on line and take advantage of liberal return policies and cheap used books. I have always felt that supporting walk in stores is the right thing to do. I stopped at B&N/Starbucks for a short break while traveling and was pleasantly surprised! The staff was helpful, friendly, and willing to go beyond just waiting on me. They treated me like more a new member of a group of best friends than people working! They paid attention to my questions and helped me find old and discover information about new products! The three new games I purchased at B&N look like fun and my snack (coffee/baked goods) from Starbucks for the road were very tasty! Also the bathroom there was impeccably clean! I live in Oregon and found out they have signed copies of books by one of my favorite authors. I called and the staff member (Laura maybe?) was amazing! She went through their entire collection so I could get copies of the books I'm missing. She was helpful and patient and thorough. I would definitely shop there in person if I had the opportunity. read more

Love going into the cafe. The staff is great and always ready to answer any questions you have about the drinks. They serve Starbucks but are not a Starbucks so you can use your Starbucks card but if you have a Barnes and nobles account you will get a discount. read more

One of the few places left where we can go as a family and browse the books for an hour or more. The kids enjoy the wide range of items in the young peoples' section. We appreciate having a place to sit and review the books we are considering purchasing. The coffee area is a little overpriced, but the staff is always friendly, even when I sit at one of the tables for 1/2 an hour while I decide on an armful of magazines. With the passing of so many independent bookstores, I will continue to spend my money at this brick and mortar store rather than purchasing online. Seriously the service at the cafe is complete crap. I'm a paying customer. For Melissa to bark at customers and then hand the food they just purchased rudely over to the customer (by handing over I mean flinging it across the counter, not even offering a plate when clearly they will be sitting in the cafe) is just ridiculous. You work in a customer service field. Exhibit your customer service skills. Not only was she rude to me, she was rude and short with customer in front of me. I understand you are stressed and need to do ur closing duties, but as long as their customers in front of you, they come first. None of the other employees seem to have this issue that she does, they are all polite and efficient. Except for her. Won't be ordering anything from her. read more

Ever since Borders Bookstore went belly up, the selection and quality of books at Barnes and Noble has gone down... I pretty much go there for the magazine browsing and 10% off the coffee with my BN card.. This location is okay selection wise... Using a lower bar to grade bookstores now... The best Barnes and Noble I have been in for selection is downtown Seattle and Kansas City MO. read more

Sadly, I saw the reason the Internet has become the shop of choice. Customer service does not appear to exist in the brick and mortar location in Kennewick. I didn't leave without comment though. I wanted to give the staff a chance to redeem the experience. Even the fifth staffer I encountered, to whom I explained the poor experience with the previous four, didn't seem interested in any way to try to make my experience more positive. The prices are little more expensive then stores like Hastings or Amazon.com, but the store has a great selection. The environment is pretty relaxed and quiet, and there is a Wi-Fi cafe as well. Their resource station is always staffed, so it's not hard to find help when you need it. read more
