Video killed the radio! So the cell phone killed the book store ! But it's not totally gone, we can always rely on Barnes's and Noble to make sure we get the best of knowing. Years and years we have spent in this book store. It's great that they still have are around. You're on vacation and you are going to read and enjoy a book. To me, and surprisingly, the children; a "real book" is the greatest of all ! They have all sorts of books. The selection is truly amazing. The books are organized by categories and everything is easy to find . What's not to love when you read a book and enjoy a few moments with your imagination and learn something. To know that is the best gift that you can offer yourself and then talk to others and share it . Purchase a book and read. These days books are a better value for your money. They offer more than you can imagine . Need a special gift that's unique it's all here . After you purchase that book you can visit the cafe and have a drink which is Starbucks for the coffee and little snacks. The Reese's cookies are delicious. What's not to love not start the recipe for knowing and all the knowledge it brings . read more

I usually do my reading on my Kindle, and often download digital books from the library. On occasion, when looking for a gift for traditional book readers, I venture over to Barnes & Noble. The Millbury, MA location is clean, spacious and boasts a large volume of volumes! They have a nice children's section and also offer games, puzzles, toys, and some arts and crafts. They have a cafe with Starbuck's coffee and free Wi-Fi. I grabbed a quick ice tea which was nicely made, and tasted like... iced tea instead of some esoteric designer flavor. Was shopping on Wednesday, and while waiting to order from the cafe, I overheard employees behind the cafe speaking inappropriately about another. Matters that should be discussed privately shouldn't be spoken of where customers can hear. This location clearly needs a vibe check. read more

Barnes and Noble is fine but the Starbucks which apparently is not a Starbucks but the name is plastered over everything with the same drinks, the woman working behind the counter is RUDE. Gave me a lecture on why its not a Starbucks when I opened my app. Whoops. How would anyone know that when the logo is everywhere. Employee needs an attitude adjustment. read more

This is in regards to the cafe. I found the lady who worked behind the counter rude. The annoyance that she gave off bc I asked a question on a menu item. I then get a cup of latte that had the top not on all the way, when the cup collapsed and spilt, she actually (no joke) wagged her finger at me and said. "Tisk tisk", while nodding her head no. I was discussed with the blame and humiliate the customer attitude she had. Obviously she doesn't like customer service, well that is the impression she gave. Im not sure what changed or shifted but theres a larger woman behind the counter when i go most times now instead of the skinnier girl with the brown hair. She is so off putting almost rude. Was here last Friday for children's story time. My five year old had a blast The leader of the group seemed to be truly enjoying reading to the kids. Afterwords, we were treated to a little craft time All in all this location always seems to be well stocked, we've never had a problem finding whatever it is we are looking for. My favourite book store to sit down, grab a coffee at the Starbucks area and read books or work on my laptop. I sit here for hours and hours without anyone interrupting me. And the variety of books is amazing. If you get a loyalty card, the coffee, food and books reduces. read more

Barnes and Noble in Millbury,MA a review by S. Osper. I enjoy really all kinds of bookshops. Maybe its the universal love of reading with my mom and friends that make my enjoy it so much. I picked up a few of there Barnes and Noble classics here for seven dollars hardcover. Pretty good deal. The atmosphere is nice. I've seen a few bigger and nicer ones (Like the one in Santa Rosa, CA.) or the one in South Windsor, CT. But this one is pretty nice for one close by. Of course, they have those nice armcahris and of course, a Starbucks (Which I actually SLIGHTLY prefer over Dunkin Donuts' I still love both. No hard feelings DD.) Anyway, the point is, it has a bit of everything, including journals, bookmarks, and different magazines. Plus it is located in the Millbury plaza. +1 star. A Review of Barnes and Noble in Millbury, MA. By Dimitri D. I have always and forever will be fond of Barnes and Noble (BN) There is something about the store that has a very cozy environment. I don't know if it's the soft chairs scattered around the store, or if it's the StarBucks cafe in the corner, or if it's just simply being surrounded by all of the tall, floor to ceiling bookshelves lined with many variations of stories and knowledge. I love the atmosphere but the book selection in the Thriller/Fiction category (which is my favorite genre) could certainly be bigger. It almost seems as though they tend to not re-stock very often in that category. Especially in Ted Dekker's and Dean Koontz's section. Stephen King's is pretty good, so is James Patterson's. But if they would work on offering just a few books and re-stocking a little bit more, that would be great. read more

I always look forward to shopping at Barnes & Noble when I go shopping at the Shoppes @ Blackstone Valley once per year. Barnes & Noble always has great gift ideas: thousands and thousands of books, cards, art supplies, tech gifts, and always lots of those great big bins of "red-labeled" clearance. In addition, this location is newer, modern, clean, organized, and has tons of sunlight. The store has outstanding employees, especially those at checkout. Never long checkout lines, and normally a fair amount of parking. This complex does get astoundingly busy so parking can be filled, but isn't ever completely filled. My only complaint is how they completely got rid of the CD and DVD section and replaced it with a Kid's Toy section. Great for mom's of toddlers, but they are barely any places with DVD's or CD's in the area anymore (since Blockbuster and Hollywood Video went the way of the dinosaur). I guess people will have to go to Best Buy (that isn't always the most pleasant place during busy times). Pretty good Barnes & Noble. One of the best stops throughout the many many stores at the Shoppes in Millbury. 4 stars. read more

It's a pretty nice establishment. Has Starbucks, and is clean. What is problematic is that they BLAST music so loud. I am sitting across table from someone at the Starbucks cafe and I cannot hear what they are saying because Barnes and Noble is blasting music. So for anyone trying to have conversation or even trying to read, there is distraction. read more

I'm at the point of disliking B&N a little more every time I visit, and this applies to all locations I've been to, but I go to Millbury most. It's not that the staff isn't helpful, they are, and they've recommended some books that my nieces and nephews, from infants to teens, have loved. They usually have what I want in stock. The stores are clean and well maintained. They carry an amazing selection of magazines. But they undo all this goodness at checkout by hounding you to buy a membership. Every. Single. Time. Some checkout clerks are worse than others in their persistence once I've said, "No." I just want to pay and go, not hear, at length sometimes, about how much I'd save. Because of that I find myself buying from Amazon more and more. Saves gas, time, they nearly always have what I want in stock or will ship it when available. And they don't try to sell me a membership. If B&N has long-term plans for staying in the brick and mortar book business -- and I hope they do --they should ditch the membership pitch. read more

Ok so I wanted to say before explaining my bad experience I enjoy purchasing books from this store and cute things I find on the shelves my review has nothing to do with the store its self but an employee who worked at the Starbucks.. So I love Starbucks its my favorite place to go.. Sadly there is no actual Starbucks Franchise in the Area so I often have to go to the Barnes and Nobles. An employee of a name I cant tell you at this moment has worked there for a bit. I have hear about him but deemed all the stories as too horrible to be true. I went to the Starbucks one day an asked for my normal drink... A Grande Java Chip Frapp with Whipped Cream.. The employee who looked to be of the India Race Bluntly Stated How old are you? so I replied.. Why would you need to know that and he said because of the drink so I confusingly replied 15 and he murmered so decaf and I said no Id like it with normal coffee and he said NO you are too young and I replied last time I checked IM the consumer so Ill have it normal and I would swear he put decaf in my drink.. Then my friend said my name is _____ and he said ya whatever and brushed us off! He didnt put our real names on the cup! Another one of my friends went there and said the same and he gave them the drinks saying "You kids don't know what caffeine is anyway.. Just leave!" I am thoroughly discouraged with this employee and Barnes & Noble for hiring him! I expect more and of all the years I have come to this Starbucks have never been so embarrassed and upset my entire life with an employee! read more
