Metrowest and Central Mass has SO much to offer (artists, intellectuals, organic farming) and Worcester Wares apparently has a pipeline from allllll of these magical people right into their wee storefront! They're located within the DCU Center (easy to find) and light floods this packed shop....let me list the ways it makes my heart sing: * Screen printed Worcester shirts and totes (both classics and hilarious) (Paris of the 80's & Out of the Night Tees, I love you) * Jewelry and pins of the Massachusetts and Worcester variety (I definitely picked up a Worcester pin) * Worcester Bravehearts wares (baseball?! YES!) * Artsy prints,calendars, and mugs (Mugged In Worcester!! Hank VonHellion!! Sarah Wormann!!) * The shop owner (Jessica) is SO nice! Just the kind of awesomely funky lady to inspire your pride for all things local to the Woo You'll pay a fair price for local gems, but know that you're supporting so many local artists when you do! And THAT's the gift that keeps on giving. I went to Worcester Wares to order some custom shirts for my small business. I paid the full price up front (mistake on my part) and patiently waited for the project to progress. I promptly sent in all of the graphics needed to make the various shirts I had ordered. Months into the project I was informed the the owner was dealing with some personal matters, which I was understanding and patient about. She did deliver some of the products I had ordered, and indicated that she was working on the remaining products. Some of the shirts had a defect, which she said she would rectify. The hoodies that I ordered were supposed to feature a large logo on they back, which the ones she delivered did not. After that visit, it was radio silence. I sent several emails and messages inquiring about timeframe for delivering the remaining items, but did not get any response from her, or from anyone at Worcester Wares. I began this process in early December 2025, and paid for my items in full at our initial meeting. It is now May the following year, and I have not hard anything from the owner since February when she dropped off a few of the items I had ordered, despite several emails and phone calls. Unfortunately I would not recommend Worcester Wares to another business. I am now out several hundred dollars and have only a small handful of the shirts that I ordered, some of which were not made as ordered. Very disappointing.

While shopping, another guest asked the cashier about if any weaving classes were available in the near future but the only response was a grunted "no." Seems like a friendlier response was warranted so I stopped the shopper on her way out to tell her & her daughter about "A Place to Weave" in Fitchburg, MA. My point is, isn't the Worcester Center for Crafts mission to support the craft community? It isn't hard to do and a friendly word goes a long way.

Glassblowing was very interesting but too hard for me. I'm really glad I took it for the experience and I would probably do it over again just to try it out. It requires a lot of coordination, so if you are as klutzy as me, you might find it too difficult too. As described in their catalog, flamework is: Tthe process of shaping glass rods and tubes into small objects over the flame of a torch. Begin by making beads, pendants and marbles to establish a foundation of technique. As the class progresses, projects will advance to include the creation of solid sculpture and hollow forms such as flowers, holiday ornaments, and perfume bottles. Small class sizes and one-on-one instruction allow students to work at their own pace. I love this class and the instructor, Jake Vincent, is patient and a great teacher. You don't have to be quite as coordinated to do flamework. In addition to glass classes, they have classes in clay, metal, fiber, photography, wood, and design and multimedia. They have a gallery too. I haven't been yet, because the glass studio is in a separate area of Worcester. I've heard its great and intend to go soon. I'll update this post when I get there. Called because it was over a week and I hadn't received a call that my item was ready for pick up,…read morebut my friend who painted with me got a text days before that hers was ready. I reached out to the studio and they told me my item was there... not sure what or how they were planning to get in contact with me. At the visit I left my name, my number, a description of my item and noted I painted my initials on the bottom of the item - wrote all of this down on the little scrap paper they gave me to write my info. I'm guessing they lost it.... I go to try and pick up my item today, sign says closed 7/18... it's 7/17, no mention on the phone when I called yesterday or on their social media page(s) that they would be closed due. Frustrating to say the least. Items available to paint upon arriving for the visit were sparse so overall, all of these things combined, it was not worth the hassle.

The staff (I believe it was Candy and Sam who helped me) are well educated about everything in the store from the scarves to the jewelry to the glass and ceramics. It's rare to find truly knowledgeable and approachable staffers in a unique and invigorating setting outside of a major city! I don't come to Worcester often but I will certainly make the Gallery Store a stop the next time I'm in the area.

Owner who says has been in business for 40 years needs to learn some phone and people skills . Have…read moreused them for 3 or more years now for bouncy houses with no problems until this year. Was told when this booked that the bouncy house would be picked up the next day which was a Sunday , perfect because I don't want that behemoth sitting on my lawn for longer than 24 hours ! So when I didn't hear from them on Sunday I called and they told me it would be first thing Monday....ok ...not really acceptable but I understand. Now they are 2.5 miles away so when I called at 9:00 am Monday and the owner said they are on the way I say great . I did a couple of errands and came home around 10:15 to find their equipment still on my lawn . I called back and talked to the same "rude " so called 40 year in business owner to ask why it wasn't picked up yet and he went off on a tangent about this being the busiest weekend and 200 other customers and no help , and then went on and asked me if I was one of "those guys " who sat around and watched my lawn all day ! WTF ? Who does this guy think he is ? So .....I had to do a face to face with this arrogant so called business owner . Sure enough....just what I thought....jumped up in my face and proceeded to tell me I'ma "Kenny" .....ya know a male "Karen"....not once but at least five times ! He is a lucky man.... I would not recommend doing business with this man unless you get a written contract for drop off and pick up times . Very unprofessional.
