This was my first time visiting a B&N outside of my hometown. In fact, I worked for them while in college. I can't even begin to show my disappointment that the religion section was shelves and shelves marked Christianity. There wasn't even a sticker designating any Jewish religion books. I was also in the Cooking section and again a big disappointment. A small middle eastern area. There was a Gaza Kitchen cookbook but I couldn't find a single Jewish holiday cookbook. Not a single Jake Cohen cookbook. They did have one by Eitan Bernath, but his cookbook isn't about Jewish cooking. So really Nothing. I feel this isn't a B&N thing because I get a lot of my Jewish cookbooks at the one near my house. read more

This Barnes & Noble is amazing. Always clean and staff is super friendly. I sometimes stop in there just to feel the energy. If you're a reader, you get what I'm saying. It feels so inviting in there. I love the children's section. All the colors and the wall decor is so fun. I've visited the Starbucks inside the cafe and it's pretty good but the one downside is you can't use the Starbucks app, but I know that's an overall B&N thing and not just this particular site. I do feel that they are typically understaffed and I realize this is a very small cafe but it gets extremely crowded in there and people are not always patient with the staff when they're clearly doing the best they can. My one negative about this B&N is that the black author section is very small and difficult to find. Maybe if it was in the main area more people would gravitate towards that section. Other than that, this is probably one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in a not so great mood and need a pick me up. read more

This is a great Barnes and Noble with an outstanding selection of books and games. The Starbucks is pretty good although I have gone there and had a completely untrained rookie. We joined with a membership to save about $30. Great place for Christmas shopping for kids of all ages. Creative kits and of course a great selection of books. read more

I called to see if they had a magazine. Sales representative mistakenly told me they had it . I said I was on my way to pick it up. Before I got 2 blocks from home, I got a call from the manager telling me they made a mistake and didn't have the magazine. Kudos to him for saving me a trip down I95 and 16 on a busy Saturday. I'm so glad that there is a big bookstore hanging on! With everything going digital and online shopping it's hard for a lot of stores. Barnes & Noble has shifted from being a bookstore to a bookstore that sells a large selection of gifts and also gift wrap and related products. It's a great place to find gifts. And an incredible place to find just the right theme of products to wrap or bag your gifts. They still have the Starbucks inside with plenty of seating. So it's a great place to meet a friend for some tea or coffee. It's a large Starbucks so they have pastries and lunch items. There is an extensive kids sections. It's gots books and toys in all the new characters and plenty of the classics. There is a huge row of Harry Potter products. It rivals Disney. It's a great place to take kids to explore the magic of books. It's a great place to spend a few hours no matter who you are. read more

This is mostly a review for the cafe. The bookstore has an amazing selection of books and hosts a cafe inside the store that generates comforting coffee smells that fill the entire place. The staff is very friendly and helpful in finding books for you. If they don't have the book in the store, then they can order it for you. The cafe has a seating area, if you are interested in reading while sipping a cappuccino. My daughter loves reading...and book shopping. She has made a deal with two sets of grandparents to buy her books and also a warm cookie from the cafe, each time they visit. The cookies don't automatically come warm, so you need to request them to warm them (they just microwave them). Our favorite cookies: Peanut butter cookie with receives peanut butter chips and chucks of recipes peanut butter cups. Warm they baby up and you have a rich, gooey piece of cookie heaven. Oatmeal Raisin. We ordered it warm and it was delicious. Oatmeal raisin is one of my favorite kind of cookies. My daughter says she prefers this cookie without being warmed. read more

Books, magazines and periodicals galore. Your typical Barnes and Noble with Starbucks, too. Popped in here to find a book for a baby shower in honor of an expectant coworker. I found a lovely book, with a meaningful message, that touts a Barnes and Noble exclusive addition. Their annual Holiday Book Drive philanthropy is in full gear. I was happy to purchase a $5 paperback, Step into Reading - Twisters, to benefit a child or one of their charities. My question is, "what does Barnes and Noble do with the proceeds made selling these books?" I would hope Barnes and Noble would write a big fat donation check$$$ to these charities, with money they earned by selling these books by generous, giving customers. Last year customers purchased 1.2 million books that Barnes and Noble gave in their name. At check out, Antonia certainly could have been more friendly. read more

I absolutely love walking into the store to buy a gift for someone! There are so many options for every person of every walk of life . I generally will walk in with a concept in my mind of what it is I'm wanting to give the person and what they like , I move onto buying the book, possibly a tote bag, greeting cards, tea cups, and anything else you could possibly think of putting in a nice gift basket. Honestly the selection is endless . And then they have the most beautiful gift wrap that always compliments the exact gift that you're giving . All in all if you're looking for a gift or just something nice to treat yourself, don't forget about Books and all they have to offer. As expected I received not a phone call, but a FaceTime call from my daughter telling me just how much she loved everything that was in her birthday box . It truly warmed my heart to see how happy she was about what I was able to purchase bookstore . The undercover shoppers at this location are aggressive and look like kidnappers. I have had a Barnes and Noble account since making my Yahoo email address in the early 2010's. I was shopping the 50%off sale this past Thursday and it was assumed I was stealing because I had four books in my arms at once. I purchased three after putting what I didn't want back. When I was walking to the register they closed the store door to trap us in the store. I even work remote at this location at-least once a week. Very disappointed. read more

The worst customer service I ever had. I wish I there was a way to give no stars. Was looking for a book and the person behind the counter, with no customers in line on his phone said he was too busy to see if they had the book. So when I found the book he was still on his phone acted like I was interrupting him. When he finally put the phone down had a attitude. So I told him how rude he was and ordered the book of Amazon. Next time I will just go to Amazon. Worst customer service ever. read more

I still enjoy visiting this store. Their clearance section has something for everyone. I always find what I'm looking for, whether it's a how-to, cook or self-help book. They have movie and music options as well. The cafe is a great place to have a coffee, tea or snack while previewing a book or magazine or just to relax during your visit to the mall. Currently I am at BN in Savannah, GA. Most of the time I don't visit the Cafe. Today I made a decision to go and order something from the Cafe. Never again. Have to have the rudeness people I have come across in awhile. My order, a drink and a slice of cake. Upon receiving my cake, it was put in a paper bag, I asked some of the ladies behind the counter if it would be possible to get a plate. The one lady explained to me that plates are not given out for certain foods that are considered finger food, and if it was a big deal she would get one, but it would take a minute. So let me explain what is wrong with this interaction I as a paying customer just experienced. First off, my opinion is ALL customers should have their food, whatever it may be, severed on a plate. I mean we just shut down the county due to some crazy illness, and here in a book store I am touching books that many people have touched before me, and who knows what kind of germs they passed on. But with that, if I prefer to eat my food with a plate and fork, damn it, I should have that option as a paying customer. And ,last get rid of the rude lady with brown hair, , and hat. She needs to learn about manners and customer service. read more

It seems like book stores are going the way of the dinosaurs. B&N are the last of a dying breed so gets all hope they stay around for a long time. This is a place you can actually go in and pick up a book and remember what is was like to have a book placed into your hands. The staff goes out of their way to help and the manager is Great & helpful . The reason they only get four stars is for the prices if it says one price online it's always a higher price in the store for some odd reason . I've spent a lot of money here for a long time. Went to get coffee and the cashier asked for my phone number. I gave it to her and she said my membership expired. Wrong. I renewed it January. She put the wrong number in. Then she proceeded to do it twice more. I couldn't believe it. I went "wow". Finally she got it right. She then proceeded to overfill my coffee. Then the manager of the store accused me of swearing. I'll be taking this to their corporate. read more

I came here looking for a biography on Johnny Mercer and a Bonaventure Cemetery coffee table book. They had neither, which is disappointing for such a large Savannah bookshop. Next I ventured over to the cafe where I was "greeted" quite rudely by a rather large, tattooed barista in a "wife beater" tee shirt. She proceeded to tell me I had to go to the back of the line because I'd walked up just before a group who entered from the correct direction, where the line was "supposed to form." In the future I'll stick to local book sellers and coffee shops and avoid the corporate conglomerates. read more

In the interest of disclosure, I work at a bookstore (not B&N). That said, this B&N location is probably the cleanest bookstore in Savannah, if that's what you're looking for in a bookstore. It's potentially the most organized, but this does vary given the day. My biggest problem with this store is the noise and well, the customers in general. Why would you put a bookstore as an anchor store in a major mall, where it gets all the through-traffic of everyone trying to get from the parking lot to the mall proper? Bookstores are supposed to be quiet, nice places ... this B&N is anything but. It is a loud, crazy bustle of constant activity. Just not right ... read more
