B&N has a place in my heart going all the way back to my childhood. I fear one day that we will no longer have books to hold in our hands and everything will switch to digital. Whenever I go to the mall I always park so I *have* to go inside Barnes & Noble. Unfortunately I was looking for a series of books that was online only. The employee that helped was very patient and helpful. Then onto my next favorite section. Looking for a specific style I went through the mass selection available, happy they had so much to offer. I didn't find exactly what I wanted, but it meant so much they tried to cater to different personalities/people. While their prices can be on the high end with some products, they also have great bargains on other items. During my hunt for a book there was a lovely lady with a tray filled with mini Starbucks samples. What a wonderful way to end my day! read more

I came in about a week and a half ago. I came in 40 minutes before closing just to look around with some friends. 10 minutes from closing a lady asks us if we're looking for anything in particular, keep in mind we were already making our way to the check out. I work in customer service and I know it's not that hard to be nice to customers. I told her we weren't looking for anything specific and she very rudely says "welp we're closing soon, so that's why I asked" This was 6 minutes from closing. So we had time. While we were being rang up at the register the same lady was standing by the door to lock it. Not very good customer service in this place ever. This is not the first time people at this location have been unfriendly and rude, which is a shame since this is one of the only commercial book store in the quad cities. read more

Great selection of books, games, magazines, puzzles, and more. But the staff is generally rude and put out when asked a question or for help. I stood at the checkout lane with my items in hand and was completely ignored. Past visits produced the same result. Honestly, if you don't want to wait on people, don't work retail. read more

Barnes and Nobles is my favorite place to get books. The chain has a large variety, merchandise, and helpful staff. This place was no exception. There was a large variety of books here, and contains many genres as well. There's always something for someone at this store. From Naruto to cookbooks, this place has virtually everything. Like most other Barnes and Nobles, this one had a Starbucks inside. The coffee was very good, and the service was polite. The employees of this store were very helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate me and find the books I was looking for. This store also has various merchandise for people in fandoms. I spotted Doctor Who, and Game of Thrones, and many more. It even had things that you would normally find in other bookstores. Overall, I highly recommend this bookstore. I will regularly stop by here, and spend lots of time in my visits. I hope my review persuaded you to come here. You will not regret it. read more

This is the only B&N I know of in Davenport IA. it's a pretty decent one to shop at. it might not always have what you're looking for, but it's got a pretty impressive inventory. why I found a copy of The Client List at one visit. And I managed to exchange my individual copies of The Hunger Games Trilogy for a Boxed Set. It's as good as the ones here in Chi-town. it's definitely a go to place. read more

I've been a long time shopper and supporter of Barnes & Noble for more than 20 years. I love pretty much everything about B&N stores... the smells, the displays, the Starbucks, the comfy couches.. I can go on. But I won't, because this store deserves none of my accolades. I've been a bimonthly shopper at this store for the last 2 years and I have never experienced customer service more terrible than at this Barnes & Noble. The employees have a skittish, paranoid look about them, and it can only come down to their tyrannical manager who runs the store. They refuse to honor the prices that are on bn.com in their stores, and on multiple instances the manager has flat out refused to accept coupons on top of my member discount. I literally just went onto their website and ordered a book for 5 dollars less than they were willing to give me in their store. Huh? How do you expect people to come back to your store when you're clearly so indifferent about making sales and appeasing your long time, loyal customers when all we're asking you to do is the job you're paid for? Maybe this comes down to company policy, but the way in which these instances have been handled are extremely rude and condescending. I love supporting brick and mortar stores but I'll certainly think twice about giving this location any of my business in the future. read more

I love B & N because this store is about the only store I can buy my series from. I also love the fact that you can have anything special ordered. This is where I buy all my entertainment from and I really enjoy shopping here. Most people prefer Hastings but it is just too small and you can't really get what you want. B & N has everything you can ever find minus what's on amazon. But I will always shop here. I always enjoy friendly friendly service and the fact that B & N will always carry the books or shows that I always am looking for and Walmart doesn't carry. The other thing I enjoy is being able to share what I love with family or friends that I care about. Trying to find a rare show that you can't normally find anywhere else? Look at B & N. What I'm trying to say is, thanks B & N for always having the shows and books that I'm looking for and the great service that you provide me. read more

I love this store. It's nice to preview a book before you buy it. There is no substitute for a local bookstore.

Great customer service. I placed my order online for pick up and was to anxious to wait for the confirmation email, so in 20 minutes from ordering I was at the store and they actually had already put it aside for me. Great inventory and very organize. It feels good to come to this store. I still love paper books (rather than e-books). read more
