I love the atlas collective! Great book selection, fun drinks, friendly staff, and queer owned!

We were in the Quad Cities for a wedding. Saturday morning we had to kill some time. My wife was in the mood for coffee and my kids always like looking at books. After a quick online search we decided to go to Atlas Collective. Overall it was a nice bookstore. The inside was welcoming and there were a fair number of people sitting around drinking coffee and browsing books. My wife and cousins all got drinks and generally liked them. My kids founds a couple books that they liked and ended up getting one. I liked the vibe, and overall was happy with the visit. The only downside of the shop is that it is relatively small. They have an okay selection, but you are going to be limited in your choices. If your tastes align with the selection on hand you will be fine, but you could end up leaving empty handed. read more

As I've said in previous reviews, I always like to stop by a bookstore whenever I'm out of town. I found myself in Moline for a conference and stopped by this bookstore, which has long been on my bookstore hit list. Lovely decor inside! So welcoming, and so inviting! The staff was gracious, the drinks were fantastic (I had the Artemis!), and the selection was diverse. There's also comfortable seating inside and coasters for your drinks so that you don't have to worry about ruining the awesome furniture. I will definitely be visiting again! read more

The staff is always very friendly. It's a great third space to enjoy a good book or crochet project. I usually order the Persephone, and its flavor and quality is consistently good. The inclusive events they offer are also a plus! read more

During a short visit from San Antonio, TX to Moline to see long lost family, we had time to visit one coffee shop and lucky for us we landed at Atlas Collective! We immediately fell in love with this cozy, creative, welcoming space. For book lovers, this is a great space to find new books for all ages- there are intentionally well designed spaces for children, young adults, and adults. It's the kind of store you really want to spend time in; couches, tables and chairs offer a spot to sit and read, study or chat. The staff are so kind and helpful and connected to the mission of the shop and I loved that I was able to find items from nearly each category at all price points. You don't have to spend $25+ to take something special away from this shop! For parents, educators, and community advocates, Atlas Collective is a conducive space for small events, networking and sharing resources! They have a rich calendar of community- centered events that appear to be a cornerstone of their business plan. There's a small coffee shop within the store that serves handmade espresso and tea drinks. Heads up that the Energy Drinks listed on the menu board contain Monster Energy Zero Ultra™ & Lotus Energy as well as the delicious teas listed. Their selection of books is awesome and inspiring and well-curated to pique interests and align with monthly themes. The Atlas Collective also hosts book clubs 2-3 times each month! Blind date w/ a book section! Curated by @macabrelibrarian does a fantastic job creating a full and fun experience for readers who dare to select a mystery book. Their packaging was gorgeous w/tons of creative details. This would be a fun gift for a book-loving friend or a treat for one's self! In conclusion, we love Atlas Collective and look forward to returning again! Books and games and coffee and community! A lovely shop to visit with a kid's corner for borrowing books as well. I will definitely be back.

The Atlas Collective, located at 1801 5th Ave, Moline, IL, is a must-visit for its unique, delicious drinks, fantastic selection of hand-curated and patron-recommended books, and inclusive and inviting atmosphere. During our recent vacation to the Quad Cities, my wife and I decided to check out the Q.C. Coffee Trail, which is a tour of various coffee shops in both Illinois and Iowa. Out of all the coffee shops we visited, The Atlas Collective was one of our top three favorites, if not our absolute favorite! Although it was one of our last stops, it left a lasting impression on us with its delightful array of coffee, tea, and other drinks that had unique and mouthwatering flavors. I particularly enjoyed my iced melon drink with delightful boba bubbles, and my wife loved the coffee! Our visit to The Atlas Collective was not just about coffee but also about the unique experience their bookstore gives its patrons. If you are unsure of what to purchase to read, the "Blind Date with a Book" selection is spectacular. I chose a huge and impressively thick "Blind Date with a Book" in the horror genre. The book was beautifully presented with washi tape, a horror tarot card (I got the Two of Pentacles represented by the creepy twins from The Shining), a delicious single-serving bag of tea, and a short typewritten description of the book, wrapped in black paper and tied with black yarn, finished off by the most awesome pin in the world, a tiny reproduction of the "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" cover. There was a lovely array of "Blind Date with a Book" books to choose from, all uniquely packaged and presented, each with its own different pins, teas, and other accessories. Once we got back to our hotel, I eagerly opened the book. I found that I had received "Imaginary Friend" by Charles Chbosky. I haven't read it before, but I was thrilled to discover that it was a large print edition and over 1,000+ pages long. I can't wait to dig into my new horror book, and I couldn't have chosen a better book for myself if I had tried! Apart from "Blind Date with a Book" selections, The Atlas Collective has many other genres of books available, and all are hand-curated by the staff, as well as containing books by suggestions or requests from patrons. We left with several goodies, including Dante's Inferno, a book on caring for tropical plants as indoor plants, a horror anthology/trilogy that I had not previously read, a book of funny online posts, and more. I cannot stress enough how lovely and thorough their book selections are at The Atlas Collective. The Atlas Collective is more than just a coffee shop and bookstore. It's a safe space, a beacon of inclusivity and diversity. When we first walked in, we were greeted by a stunning variety of gorgeous plants, as well as a rainbow assortment of pronoun pins and a neon sign with a rainbow proclaiming 'The Future is Inclusive'. These are not just decorations but symbols of acceptance. This warm and friendly atmosphere, fostered by the owner Kara, is a testament to the shop's values and makes it a place where everyone can feel at home. The Atlas Collective's bright and cheery shelves were not just filled with books but with the voices of the community. Each section had a lovely piece of paper with a book recommendation from a member of the community and why they recommended that particular book. It's a wonderful way to discover new books from all genres and feel a part of the vibrant literary community. The shelves were also full of gorgeous displays, including creepy and macabre curios in the horror section, adding to the unique charm of the shop. Another impressive aspect of The Atlas Collective is its children's section in the front, which has loads of awesome children's books in a bright, open, and clean area where children can sit and read or play and read in a sunny spot, surrounded by vibrant live plants and gorgeous wall art and decorations. There is plenty of sitting room with a wide variety of impressively comfortable chairs, sofas, and pillows, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. The bright, sunny, and open room was impeccably clean and dust-free. We would give them one hundred stars! We highly recommend The Atlas Collective and its staff.
