Soothing jazz was playing, the antique rugs made everything feel welcoming. There are several rooms full of used books in various categories. Everything was labeled and easy to navigate. They also have tables of used records and shelves of movies. This is the kind of analog, community-based place that so needs to exist in today's world. I hope it's always here in Syracuse.

The sisters that own this spot have a podcast, as well, and discussion felt like record stores of decades long since gone. (Don't tell me that 1998 was 26 years ago, I don't want to hear it, and that's before most of the likely customer were even born.) Speak up about what you're finding and you'll have a great conversation about records that are in the store's bins, what's in your collection and what's in theirs. Pricing on these records is pretty reasonable given that it's a mix of new and used records. Stop in, you won't regret it.

Owner has 100s of records on display; likely has 1000s more in the back. There were so many records I wanted to buy, that I could have easily dropped my house payment on them. Everything I bought was vintage pressing, but he also had new pressing. Picked up Led Zeppelin ! and !V, Dark Side of the Moon, some Eagles, some AC/DC.... Had records from every genre. The store also sells guitars and guitar accessories. Strings, picks, pedals, most things you could want. Guitars were all nice beginner to intermediate level guitars. Owner also stated that he would be carrying Ibanez soon. He sold a variety of other products that would appeal to someone in the market for vinyl records. I have been shopping at this location since it first opened. Ever since the "rearranging" of this…read morestores lay out last year, this place has gone right down the tube. The worst part is the check out registers. Now, there is usually only one register open (instead of two or three), and a line of 6 or more customers waiting in line to pay for their merchandise. Most of the employees have been there for a long time, and all but one exibit the "I hate my job" vibe. The one that doesn't (yet) is the one that is the newest member of their staff. I used to shop there at least once a week, or at least every other week. Now I go a month or two between visits, and absolutely dread it when I have to check out.
