I'm one of those folks who could tell you that Todd Rundgren was all over Grand Funk's "Loco Motion" (...well he produced it), but can't remember what I had for dinner three days ago. The owner of Reimagine Records is one of those who understands your musichead quirks and has equally obscure music facts in his head...along with a very good array of music in his shoppe. If you like bands like Marillion or Gentle Giant or even the Shins, he knows about them and can speak intelligently about them. Places like Utica and area can support these businesses because the rent is much more reasonable, and gives these indy shoppes a chance. Fairly priced and a good vibe here...support these folks. I have been looking for a good record shop in my area since I moved to Oneida in October. I went here for the first time today and I've got to say that I am impressed. I have been keeping up with their Facebook page, where they post new items regularly. Yesterday I saw a Brian Eno LP I have had my eye on and I knew that I was finally gunna stop in. I asked if they could hold it for me until the next day and they said yes, no problem--very accommodating! I stopped in and they had my record for me. I talked with Michelle and she is very friendly and welcoming! Scott was kind as well. I looked around and found some awesome stuff--Boards Of Canada's "Geogaddi" 3LP and a cassette tape of Melissa Etheridge's "Yes I Am" as well. This store just opened in July 2014. A pretty good selection of vinyl and CDs. A lot of common LPs and CDs but some gems mixed in for sure. The one thing that takes some getting used to is the alphabetizing system used in the store. (Cheap Trick filed under T and Van Halen filed under H? I'm not sure of the reasoning but it's easy enough to figure out). The owners are really nice and knowledgable (The guy knows his Prog). Worth a visit if your in the area. read more

I like to go to record stores whenever I go somewhere new or in this case when I go home to visit friends and family. I went here for the first time in 2015 and was impressed, the store is Clean with a capital C and organized. I loved it and bought a few records. I went back this past July and had more time and ended up having a conversation with owners Scott and Michelle. They are wonderful people. They are knowledgable about music and equipment and are a complete pleasure to talk to. What I look for when I go into a record store is the organization of the vinyl, how it is displayed, what types of conditions the vinyl is and what they are charging for them. Reimagine does this perfectly. The records they sell are only vg+ and up, they are cleaned on a vpi vacuum cleaner and stored in outer plastic. If your only experience were going here to shop for records you would be shocked at how other stores go about this. I see records in some stores where I live in Dallas-Ft.Worth that look like they have been driven over by a car in the driveway. So to come here and experience this is fantastic. There is no price you can put on knowing that the used vinyl you are purchasing is going to play and be enjoyable. I really can not stress enough how great it is that Scott is cleaning these records. The vinyl hobby is a time consuming, tedious and expensive one so with a store like Reimagine Records they are doing the work for you. Again knowing you are buying a record that will sound good, has been cleaned and comes in a plastic outer sleeve is fantastic. The amount of vinyl they had in 2017 compared to 2015 went up and I am so happy this is the case and they are doing well. I am looking forward to spending my money in this wonderful store next summer when I visit again. It was the best record store experience I have had since I was a teenager and went into The Last Unicorn and discovered the amazing world of records, tapes and cd's. In town from Portland, OR visiting family and had a great experience at Reimagen yesterday. Their prices for "vintage" or used records is beyond reasonable. Their stock was diverse, albeit fairly "classic." The owners are friendly and helpful. They gave me a discount on my small stack of purchases AND threw in free shipping boxes so I can send the records home (Sound Garden in Syracuse would not even sell me shipping boxes and I spent a good chunk of cash there). read more

Ever go into a store...and you feel like your being watched? I stopped in a few weeks ago, it was my first time. The selection was okay. The atmosphere felt like the inside of a church. Had a musty moldy smell to it. As I was scanning through the selection of vinyl lp's, the owner kept asking me questions. She wanted to know where I was from. I just wanted to be left alone to browse. If there was something I liked and wanted, I was going to make a purchase. I felt so relieved when I left. I don't think I could ever go there again. I know I am not the only one that feels this way about this shop. I believe the management needs to improve. Overall...just a real creepy experience! read more

Excellent shop with friendly and knowledgeable owners. I was impressed with the used vinyl selection and the prices were very reasonable. It was great chatting with the couple who owns the store and I wish I had more time to go through all of the inventory.
