This shop is for the "true believers" and "Constant Readers," not just the "Big Bang Theory" popular kids. I can definitely agree, there are records from all kinds genres, even a Creepshow Soundtrack one that just came out! I had already pre-ordered it for my partner, though... What surprised me was that they also have CDs, and stickers and pins and patches and even board games! There was a large selection of vinyls that were on sale that day, which made it seem like a great deal could be had here. I'll have to check it out on Record Sale Day I think they call it.

The selection is unmatched and I end up spending a good amount of time and money on every visit because you can't get this experience anywhere else. While I love the movie selection in particular they also offer vinyl, books, games, apparel, and more! The staff is always kind and helpful. Soothing jazz was playing, the antique rugs made everything feel welcoming. There are several rooms full of used books in various categories. Everything was labeled and easy to navigate. They also have tables of used records and shelves of movies. This is the kind of analog, community-based place that so needs to exist in today's world. I hope it's always here in Syracuse.

The sisters that own this spot have a podcast, as well, and discussion felt like record stores of decades long since gone. (Don't tell me that 1998 was 26 years ago, I don't want to hear it, and that's before most of the likely customer were even born.) Speak up about what you're finding and you'll have a great conversation about records that are in the store's bins, what's in your collection and what's in theirs. Pricing on these records is pretty reasonable given that it's a mix of new and used records. Stop in, you won't regret it.

That said, the vinyl they do have is small but well curated. They also sell vintage speakers, turntables, and other gear. This has a vendor style set up, and seems to change around. It is winter, and I will say the place is freezing, but it gave home to a little room up and to the side that had a friendly man who really turned his space into a little oasis. It was shut off from the rest, had space heaters and was well curated with items. It was a really fun place to find. Recently they seemed to have turned the front into a redemption center for recycling. I am all about recycling but it did smell really terrible. It was also cold enough we didn't get to explore all of the floors. In the waaaaay back there is a door labeled with a sign that says "unheated! Close door behind you!" This vendor space had some really gorgeous antiques in it, with a few lights I am still thinking about. My advice is to go, dress warm if its cold outside, and prepare for a little adventure as there are twists and turns and places to find everywhere. Not all the stairs are connected too, so if you find a place with stairs, go up them!
