First off I'm grateful to have it. Have the new Athlon Sports NFL season guide. Here I can digest draft info, free agent signings, and what the outlooks for the franchise's is. Am not surprised that the cost has gone up, but we are living in an era of inflation. Actually got a decent bargain on a history book about Incas. That should be excellent reading. This is a nice store. They used to have more, but writing seems to be on E devices. I'm guilty so it's not their fault. The employees here are very polite and helpful. It's also a fairly well organized store also. I sometimes enjoy reading a book here, with a nice cup of coffee. It's a comfortable spot, and for this I'm grateful.

Procrastination got me back at B&N, came in looking for Squigz and Bananagrams to purchase as gifts. After scouring the shelves for half an hour, I only found Bananagrams. Too tired to keep looking, I end up buying Tegu's Magnetic Wooden Blocks. Once at checkout my tab came up to 130+, didn't realize Tegu toys cost two arms and legs. But by renewing membership, I saved a bit getting a second set for my son.

The Borders Books in Kamp Washington/Fairfax is my favorite chain bookstore. But sometimes I will pop into this Barnes & Noble as it is a bit closer to me. I always have a hard time finding stuff in this store - things are weirdly organized - don't know if it is just this location, Barnes & Noble in general, or I am just whacked out - but I almost ALWAYS need help from someone at the Information Desk. The other thing I don't like is the breadth and depth of their book offerings in the Nature/Ecology section. It is significantly smaller than what the local Borders offers. I was looking for a book today on Virginia Wineries - I have a fairly old book on this subject - and I wanted to see what, if anything was available with newer information. B&N could not find anything - which should not be a surprise. As far as I can tell - the last time a book was published on Virginia wines - was in 2002. It seems like it's easier these days to keep up on Virginia wineries via the internet! I came across an unexpected delight - a book entitled: "Weird Virginia - Your Travel Guide to Virginia's Local Legends and Best Kept Secrets." I perused it and decided I needed to read this! I also picked up the current issues of Archeology, Renaissance, Backpacker, and Outside Magazines. There is also a Starbucks coffee shop inside of the B&N - I think this is the norm for all B&N's.

Yes, the books are generally more expensive in physical bookstores than buying them online, but I try to read one at the café and buy a couple so that they stay in business.

HUGE used book store and well worth the drive!…read more Their trade in process was really straightforward - when you walk in there's a trade in counter where they ask you to put your books into bins. I had one large bag that I sorted between two bins, one for books and the other for single issue comics and DVDs/non-books. About 45 minutes later I got a text that my trade-in was ready. I came back to the same counter after browsing the store and they offered me in-store credit or a lower amount in cash. They also returned the items they didn't want and I had the option to take them with me or leave them as a donation. I think it was a fair deal for what I donated, and I opted for the in-store credit. The store has a great mix of used books, dvds, comics, vinyl, and more that's pretty well organized. I will say there's a fair amount of duplicates of certain titles and it was interesting that some were priced higher than others - so check all the labels! In general the prices were reasonable with a few exceptions - I saw a really worn copy of a new hardback that they were selling for the list price ($35!) even though it had been out long enough that other books sellers were discounting it already. But then I also got a box set of dvds for $10 and a bunch of kids books for $0.50-2.00. It was easy to spend that in-store credit!

I have been shopping at this store for years now, unfortunately todays trip will be my last. Mckays…read morehas always had inaccurate pricing, but today they were so bad that I almost thought I was dreaming. Tell me why I saw Star Wars the Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels for $18... Currently this game goes for $3.67 on pricecharting, heck when it game out in 2008 its peak was only a measly $5. Multiple gbc/gba shovelware games all overmarket, by around 10 dollars as well. In general the amount of 3-5 dollar games that they are trying to pass off as 15 - 20 dollar games is dis gracefully disgusting. The point of traveling to these stores are to get the good deals. All of the inventory they have are traded in for or donated so it makes NO sense! It seems that the employees make guesses when it comes to prices, that or they are being told to overprice by upper management. By the gaming section there was a sign that claimed that all of the consoles and equipment is tested beforehand by "gamers with over 30 years of experience" whatever that means. I got an Xbox One Kinect from them back in December, and worked normally. A couple days later I wanted to try using its mic functionality, was not functioning. So it was never fully tested by "gamers with over 30 years of experience" lol. The worst part is that they give you a 3 day warranty... it's not like people have kids, jobs, or other commitments I guess. The media (dvds and blu rays) were also overpriced per usual. Usually only by 5-10 bucks. My main discrepancy today was that I saw multiple dvds and blu rays with dirt and filth smattered on the covers. Your telling me that they have the audacity to up charge, and still refuse to even spend 10 seconds wiping the cover with a lysol wipe? Is it that hard to do? Disgusting! I can't speak on their book pricing as I am not well versed but pretty much everything else is overpriced in this store. It really sucks because these type of stores are supposed to be for lower income families who can't buy new. And instead is being treated like a greedy gaming convention booth. I genuinely feel bad for kids nowadays who want to start growing a small gaming collection post pandemic. With greedy "thrift" stores like this, even the shovel ware games are off-limits.

He was very helpful and pleasant to be around. Much of the books are in the Korean Language, but there are many books that have both English and Korean writing. I saw comic books with Asian spreading the word of God, but doing it in a way kids through adults can understand. Oh, did I mention Hello Kitty too? Hello Kitty watches, dishwasher sets and even a sleeping bag to name a few things. If business doesn't get better for the owner here, I eventually will end up closing the store forever.
