I never thought I would be writing a review on a bookstore as I don't think I have actually gone in one in years. But I am not a grandma of a toddler and it is all about the "experience" with the little ones. I LOVED THIS STORE!!! and more importantly, my little one did too. We spent over 2 hours here and the staff are so friendly and nice. This store is located in Ala Moana, street level and parking is a little tight but you can find. It is a pretty big store, even has a Starbucks in it. The kids section is great! There is an area for kids to sit and read/play. They have so many children's books all sectioned off my age and type of book. They have toys, backpacks and so much more! Go around the corner from the kids area and they have like 4 rows of toys. Like big toys you would find at Target. They are well made, good brand toys , not cheap stuff that is not safe or educational for kids. We shop so much online it was absolutely refreshing to spend time in this store. I will 100% be back.

The best bookstore I've ever seen with the greatest staff and so many books to choose from!! The cafe has a huge selection and they also have so many magazines, games, notebooks, calendars, trinkets, and a whole music section... one of my favorite places to be in Hawaii!

The last of the big chain bookshops! Nestled on the bottom of Alamoana macys mauka.* Please don't leave, we need you!! I have ptsd and abandonment issues from all the best stores and restaurants leaving. Love that there's a coffee shop in here making loud noises because for some strange reason when I have to be absolutely quiet my stomach and or colon likes protest loudly. It's like I have a shelf life in b&n and I hots to get the hell outta there. Yes there is a public bathroom thank you but no I will wait till I get home. *mauka = mountainside

Daughter wants to look at books

My daughter wanted to come here and buy books with her money I gave her. This location is near Macy's around the corner. You would have to walk further along. The store is huge in size and has a coffee place on the right side. It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon and I ended up sitting in the kids section on the bench to take a break while my daughter looked at books. I love to read books when I get a chance so I didn't purchase any books this time. The store is pretty organized and every section is divided up by categories so that makes it easier to find what you're looking for. I definitely would come back here to look at books and purchase one but you have to get the better deal. My daughter got the buy one get the other half off I believe. Not bad and they have certain books on sale and some regular price.

Getting lost in a book is time well spent. When I worked in the mall this is my special place as a crafter you always search for any inspiration and here is just filled with so many all you need to do is find it in yourself to decide what the treasure will be today. Honestly my favorite section was right before all the bookshelves the ones that have all the varieties of not just books but craft kits, cookbooks and informative items and journals...you always seem to find something you didn't think you're looking for. Holiday season is the place to be with all the calendars, and toys and puzzle section is a fabulous place to shop for the little ones and now I see a manga section...cool! Once I really do find a great book or magazine what do you seriously want to do...read!!! A one stop enjoyment they have a cafe serving up Starbucks drinks along with the best selection of pastries with a decent amount of seating here you can escape the world and find your own here. Thank you!

To start off, parking is a breeze after December and the holiday shopping season. If you're looking for a quick snack or drink, this cafe is a sweet spot. Shoutout to Jessie & Riley from the Cafe for starting our first Friday morning of the year on such a positive note. Grateful to have encountered such friendly and helpful and interactive staff. Would definitely come back:)

I'm not a fan of reading, but I do like to shop at Barnes & Noble. My family enjoy reading and shopping here. Therefore, I like tagging along with them. When I do come here, I usually head over to the BARGAIN area. Here you will find shelves and shelves of different genres of books. Fiction, non-fiction, autobiographies, manga, educational, home and garden, cookbooks, journals, activity books and craft kits. So many choices at a DISCOUNTED price. I can spend all my time here just browsing and picking up a few items from here for myself or gifts for others. There is also a BARGAIN area in the children's section so be sure to check it out, too. So, if you are looking for bargains on books, go and check out B&N at the Ala Moana Shopping Center. You'll thank me for that!

I just came to get some coffee. Very quaint, peaceful, pretty busy. The cafe is NOT Starbucks. Their food is better than SB.

Ask the Community - Barnes & Noble

Is there an online site for this shop where we can buy online? Would like to buy from Oahu store vs. mainland store, being that we live on Kauai.

Yes, there is. You will need to go to "barnesandnoble.com" and search for the Ala Moana store. It'll pop up. We've used this site before. Hope this helps!

The price wasn't great, but I had no choice but to pay. The water was cold which was strange to me because I was going onto a cold plane and cold water on a cold plane makes for a colder trip than usual. Had the price been better, I would have bought two bottles of water. The big bottle wasn't very big, it was just bigger than the smaller bottle. The person in front of me had an issue with her card, so the cashier had to restart the machine. It seemed to take a long time and I was grateful that I was boarding at the gate across from them. But that was the only really weird hiccup. Otherwise, I got my water, paid and was set to go.

Amazing. Wandering in to get a preflight drink, I picked up an extra copy of a magazine and left…read morethe store with a smile. After placing my drink and magazine on the counter, the cashier scanned my items and my $20.00 bill. Wearing sunglasses, he completed my transaction quickly and efficiently. He is blind. This was my first encounter with a visually disabled person in a customer service capacity and he thoroughly impressed me. Kudos to the company's HR department for being open minded and progressive. This experience reminded me of Stephen Curry's catchphrase, "I can do all things.". Point proven. Inspiring 5 stars times two.

This sundries store near the A-gates in the Hawaiian Airlines terminal opens at 6am. Nowadays you…read moreneed to get to the airport early because of all this new changes and possible shut down of TSA happening often. Very inconvenient if you need to purchase something to drink . To make things worst the worker comes in around 10min prior and her computer don't wring she had to reboot. Don't you think if you're a worker you'll come to your station at least 15min or 30min to count your register and get everything settle . Looked like she just got to work . Here's another problem I encountered my brother in law was nice enough to offer to treat as long as I did the run to get drinks and snacks. I had to pay cash because the register screen was still rebooting so the same last had to use a manual scanner than she advised me sorry only cards . So that means I was treating my brother in law . So irritating the customer service sucked . Management should look into this matter and have workers get everything settle before they open the store and count their register and make sure computers are working . Not showing up just before opening the store and nothing working . I guess next time I need to buy my food at Burger King if I fly the early morning flight on Hawaiian Airlines. Burger King was already open when I got through the TSA check point . Just a friendly reminder to all you travelers if flying the early morning flight only Starbucks and Burger King is open in Terminal 1 none of the Pages &Pages sundry stores .

They have a couple of refrigerators with sandwiches, musubi, charcuterie boxes (cheese and meat), and drinks. They also have books, magazines, candies and other items. The sandwiches are airport prices, and of course the one I chose was the most expensive at $12.99 for a deli sub. My husband got a little meat and cheese box and we picked up a couple Gatorades. If you're in a hurry this is a great quick stop.
