WARNING!!! IGNORE my previous Reviews of Barnes Garage! Bob Barnes retired and there is a new and horrible owner. I made an appointment for an Inspection and for new tires. The appointment was made almost 1 week in advance. I showed up on the day of the appointment at 7:15 A.M. (they open at 6:30 A.M.). After I reviewed what was to be done for my vehicle, I was told that they would give me a call. I waited (wasted!), all day waiting for that call! They close at 5 P.M. I gave them until 5:10 P.M. and called back. When I called back, I got a recorded message that they were closed!!! I drove there, tried the locked door, saw someone was still inside and I knocked. The guy who said he would call answered the door. At first he did not seem to recognize me. Then he started to apologize with the feeble excuse of how busy they were that day. (How is that my problem?) He said that the tires did not come in. Was the vehicle inspected I asked? No, nothing was done to it and it was parked out on the street! He offered me a "loaner." What, will you be loaning me my own, perfectly working vehicle? I drove my vehicle home and I will never return. What type of way is that to treat a customer and to run a business? He deservers ZERO stars! read more

Driving through from out of town with car problems. Stopped at Barnes Garage and they assigned a mechanic, Chad, right away. We took a test drive, he figured out the problem and fixed it. had a lower ball joint control arm replaced on my car. was charged 700 for the job, then a few months later while Che king out my brakes, I noticed the lower control arm was rusty, and still had the factory chalk marks on it. would never take my car back there again, and would never recommend them to any one. they should be ashamed of there actions. read more

I have an uneasy relationship with my low tire pressure light. That sucker is such a nag. It pops up every few months to remind me that I once ran over a nail and have been driving with a patched tire for two years like only neglectful car owners do. A few days ago, I took it to my oil change place and was told there were only 12 pounds of air in one tire. Twelve pounds? Well, it's full now, isn't it? Two days later, flat tire. Luckily, I was at work, where several coworkers stopped by my sad car and me to see if we were okay. I drove home on my sad-looking, 4-year-old spare and started trying to learn about tires. Tires are boring, though, so I went out for drinks with friends instead. Next day, I called Barnes and a lovely woman answered the phone. She took my tire information and gave me a couple recommendations, breaking down the information to my level of knowledge. I took my car in at 4, where I met a very nice mechanic who examined all four tires, explained possible dangers and signs of excessive wear, told me how and how often to get my tires rotated, etc. He pointed out RUST in the tire that went flat and cracks in the others. As someone who has never looked at her tires other than to see that they are still on the car, I have to say I learned a lot. I got the call to pick up my car at 5:30 and went merrily on my way. This shop is AWESOME! The people there are extremely friendly, and they do great work. This is not your cookie cutter auto shop, but a true small town, "we'll actually treat you like family" shop. I was on a road trip through the area and had a small issue. They fixed it FAST, with a smile for a fair price. Highly recommended. read more

I was passing Bedford in a snowy weather. Googled tire shop and Barnes Garage was open at 8AM. Talked to a very polite lady and they gave me a very good price on synthetic oil change and tire change. It was nice of Barnes garage to let me be near by while they work on it. So I could see them working on my car. Not like other big places where you don't know what they are doing to your car.
