I finally had enough money saved up to upgrade my wiring for the house. Oi! That's a lot of money! The house had the original wiring from the 40's. Now it has top-of-the-line easy to upgrade wiring with room for exapnsion. This is good because I will need to call them back a couple of times. They came in, upgraded the breaker box, grounded the wiring, made space for future additions which we discussed. Sadly, I couldn't afford to get everything done all at once - nor could I get everything done all at once because I needed to have a carpenter in for part of it and the plumber, and then the electrician back again, so even if I had the money to get all the wiring work done at one time, it wasn't possible. But - they did a great job of installing the upgrade. They were fast, prompt, friendly, professional, hardworking, and now I have to scrimp and save for more work. I need some switches and outlets that don't work fixed, I need a number of new outlets installed (remember, original wiring from the 40's - a maximum of 2 outlets per room and I think 4 should be the minimum, so I need to double the outlets), install electric wall heaters, and an overhead heater in the bathroom, plus bathroom outlets for grooming items that are electrified, and ceiling fans. My home was built on 2021, and My circuit breaker kept tripping, almost daily. They advised me of the $69 charge to check for the issue. He arrived spent about 45 min checking and couldn't find a reason, said it could be a variety of things. He assured me it was safe and we didn't need to worry about a fire hazard. Next, We had a disk light inside and 3 exterior flush mount led lights that were blown. Since the house was just over a year old, we wanted to make sure there wasn't a short causing led lights we rarely use to blow. He said it just happens sometime, nothing is wrong, then He quoted $656 to change 4 light bulbs. I admit I was ignorant, I should have researched but trusting him I opted to have him change one exterior light. This was the week of Christmas. After researching the cost, the bulbs were less than $20. I feel taken advantage of and I would not recommend this company. read more

I contacted Barnett after I lost power to half of my house. They sent someone out on Saturday. According to the technician, he reviewed my problems and told me that he and the company would be unable to work on my house because it was cluttered and not clean. Well, I found a company that was not judgmental and fixed all of my problems today. They understood my circumstance with my back issues and were very understanding about the clutter. I want to recommend another company called Flanco Electric. They were so helpful and understanding. It's a shame that Barnett Electrical was not helpful and left me without power to half of my house. I now have paid for a complete upgrade to my outside and inside breakers for a great price--shame on Barnett for being so disrespectful. read more

Only after posting the review did their service manager call me and offered a refund of the fee. For that reason I raised my rating to 2 stars; however, they gave me a lousy reason for declining my job; therefore 2-stars is a fair rating. These guys are ROCK STARS, I obtained three quotes for a Cabana I was having built. They were not the cheapest, nor the most expensive, but their response time was better, and had a good knowledge of what had to be done. I had to double the service and meter on the house to service the new building, and made numerous changes throughout the construction, and the guys on the job never pushed back on any of them, and when I received the final bill for the additions I felt it was fair. But a no call no show on a day that I explicitly said that I would have to take off work in order to be home for the appointment is completely unacceptable. When I called to inquire on what was taking so long I got the voicemail and no call back after two hours of waiting. They charged me $5,800 for a job they never finished. These people are crooks. Inside the house, "Ryan" knocked books off shelves and damaged personal property that he never should have touched. He moved all of the breaker switches from the inside of the house outside without my permission, without any discussion. Rather than simply back out of the driveway, he drove a heavy truck across the lawn without my permission just so he could turn around in the back alley and avoid putting the truck in reverse. My air conditioning unit went out about a week ago. I called to have the heat and air team to come out. They were prompt and up front about the cost of a service call. He came out and Checked the power to the a/c. Told me it was an electrical issue and that their electrical team would have to come out. But because I have a very old electrical panel they would probably have to upgrade that before working on anything. So the electrical guy comes out, again, prompt and told me the same thing the hvac guy told me. In order for them to work on anything they will have to upgrade the electrical panel. I got a quote on 4 different packages, ranging from about 4700-8000 dollars. None of those I can afford. So I said thank you and sent him on his way. I got to thinking about it being electrical. Did some good old fashioned google searches. Ended up changing out the fuse to the outdoor breaker box to the air conditioning unit. And presto, like magic it comes on. I'm giving a 1 star because this was a 22 dollar fix and because their protocol says they can't do anything electrical without upgrades, they chose to try to get me to spend thousands of dollars when this was a quick and easy fix. It's clear that they weren't interested in helping but they just wanted to get me to spend a ton of money. So, sorry guys, I'm not impressed. read more

Called Barnett Electric to schedule some work, day of our appointment comes, call to confirm and they no-showed. I should have billed them for making me miss work. Re-scheduled with them for October 9th, my wife stayed home this time because I had to be at work. Was told by the dispatcher they would show up fully stocked, quote the work, if we accepted the quote they would do the work immediately. Derek arrived at my house and I got on the phone with him to walk him through what needed to be done: 4 existing outlets in kitchen (under remodel) replace old metal boxes with poly and replace standard outlets with GFCI, step down to 110 existing cooktop power under cabinet and install box/outlet, move one light switch over 1 stud, replace existing bathroom fan with new light/fan combo already purchased and sitting there, replace two outside outlets with weatherproof GFCI. He says he will get me a quote, tells my wife he has "another appointment he has to be at so he won't be able to do the work that day." He'll need us to take off a third day, because he's apparently double booked. I called the service manager immediately and explained this was unacceptable. Derek called me with an outrageously high quote, clearly trying to bid himself out of the job so he didn't get pinched on the other appointment. At this point I have waited over 3 weeks on this company to do some simple electrical work and I cannot continue my remodel until it's finished. I asked how much for just the kitchen work, we agreed on a price, I asked him to proceed and complete the kitchen work. Of the 4 outlets he only replaced 2. Charged my wife $652, used about $40 in parts. Derek started working in my kitchen at 9:55 am and my wife called when he left at 11:13 am. This company will waste your time and cheat you out of money, and leave the job unfinished. I called in 3 times, spoke to Marlin, tried to get them to come out and make it right. Nothing. Asked for Marlin to send me a copy of Derek's license, nothing. It's shameful to treat your customers with such disrespect. read more
