Visited this evening during my Texas Winos tour. Dean, his wife, and the other staff were warm, friendly, and super welcoming. Really some of the kindest people you will ever meet! The property sits on 40 acres of lush land. There are rows of grape vines, a small area where mini donkeys and horses roam, and there's chairs, benches, and cornhole outside. The barn is gorgeous, constructed from bare wood that is simple yet strikingly beautiful. One of the first things I thought was that it would be a beautiful wedding venue. And it is! Upstairs there's a bridal suite with a sofa, a vanity, and two full length mirrors. We tasted several wines. My favorites were the Malbec, the red blend, and the peach wine. The Malbec is medium bodied and semi dry. The red wine blend is full bodied and a pretty exclusive TX wine from what they told us, and had a very dry finish. I think the peach wine would taste lovely in a peach sangria. It was slightly sweet and smelled amazing! The owners mentioned the winery doesn't have regular business hours, but that in the fall they will start to do some live music and local events. If you follow their Facebook page you can stay up to date on the events! It is a beautiful winery with quick access to downtown McKinney-15 minutes, so a great location if you are looking for a winery to visit outside of Dallas. read more

The owner was also the singer in the band that played and he did a wonderful job. Can't wait to go to the next event. First time out to BarnHill, and we got a flat tire. Made it into the parking lot, and the security guard, John, was amazing in all his efforts to help us. Enjoyed the great music, friendly staff, and energetic atmosphere while we waited for AAA to come help. AAA never showed, but the great Texas hospitality came out in full force to fix our tire. The customers and John were incredible. Thanks for turning a bad situation into a fun memory. Definitely will go back! read more

Went here for new years celebration, the staff were super friendly and they put on a great show. Vibe was good, wine was good, people were cool. Seating was good too they had heaters for inside seating and fires going for outdoor seating. Looking forward to visiting again! read more

We were there on a beautiful mild Saturday night in Late June. Grabbed a bottle of Riesling which was excellent. There were plenty of sights: horses, donkeys, sunset over the pasture, bonfire, BBQ, King George playing cover songs, and social distancing. We brought our own picnic snacks and enjoyed the atmosphere from the comfort of our own captains chairs. It was a great evening, and we'll definitely return. read more

Absolutely love this place!!! It's the kind of place that is so laid back that you forget about the day and just appreciate the space you are in. The music, wine and service is lovely. I usually bring my own food and chairs. To top the night off with making s'mores is a tribute to anyone childhood that you can't pass up. Some of the best sunsets and the animals are an added bonus!! Outstanding venue. the place, the wine, the music!!! all is awesome. my neighbors gave us tickets for Christmas. We had the most amazing time at this beautiful vineyard! It started the second we entered the property when the security guard welcomed us with an energetic and thorough overview of the logistics of parking and getting settled into the venue for the Luke Combs cover band concert. We arrived just in time to see a beautiful sunset over the rolling hills, then headed to the bar where the bartender took his time making sure we got the exact wine we would love. Every person we encountered was so helpful and seemed happy to be there. The concert was great, and the ambiance under the Texas stars couldn't be beat. We will definitely be going back!! read more

Yesterday was my first time at Barnhill and i enjoyed listing to a Chicago tribute band while relaxing at this lovely vineyard setting and tasting their delicious sangria swirl, just what we needed on this hot evening. Just went with friends and family to Listen to some Fleetwood Mac and relax. Everyone had a lot of fun and enjoyed the music and wine... until it was time to leave. Getting back to our vehicle, after the music finished, we noticed that we had been blocked in on all sides. We had to wait for over 30 minutes until the truck behind us moved, allowing us to leave. A great experienced ruined by something so ridiculous. This should never happen when security/cops are directing people where to park. read more

Went as a group for an Eagles Contest Band. It was predicted to be a stormy night. They were very responsive on FB and reassured everyone that they had tables inside the barn and a covered patio. It sprinkled but then cleared off so curtains were rolled up, firepits started, horseshoes and smores. Pizza truck had fast service and good pizza. Wine was good too! Great night. Excellent barn like space, a really good venue. They limit ticket sales for shows so even sold out shows aren't going to be horrible. The wines are excellent. Especially the Silky Chocolate Red. They often if not always have s'mores around fires. There's usually a food truck, always great so far. A real gem of a place. Dress appropriately, it's a barn. Bring lawn chairs, too. read more

Barnhill is continuing to hold large events with greater than 100 people with the approval of County Judge Chris Hill despite the state mandate from Governor Abbott to not hold events greater than 100 people. They are also not requiring masks. Kind of sad this venue and the country judge continue to put money ahead of people's lives. read more

Absolutely one of the best venues for outdoor music and scenery in North Texas! It is one of my favorite go-to spots in Collin County. Dean and Joy have done a tremendous job ensuring that EVERYONE feels at home! It is like having one huge family gathering when you go to Barnhill! This place has a nice setup to sit back and relax, think I noticed three firepits with lots of chairs. Live music playing inside the barn and a BBQ wagon to have a bite to eat. Unfortunately for our first time being there the security guard Paul Cobb ruined the experience. My wife was taking photos of the 3 of us like she normally does and while this occurred someone moved her chair. Just living in the moment and naturally she went to sit back down and asked if I had moved it, I didn't so she just grabbed it and put it back in place. Here comes the man of the hour "security guard" and starts talking to her like she knows what is going on with his plan of action about moving the chair and needing to light the other firepits. This irritates him that the chair was moved back and he starts coping an attitude. He did not use common courtesy and let anyone know that this was the path to be taken to move already lit firewood to the next pit. He lit the pit we where at with some accelerant earlier, not sure what his bright idea was to move already lit firewood from one pit to the next and smoke everyone out along the way. He also did not use a log grabber but two other pieces of wood to move a lit log. Seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. So he threw a fit because of a chair in the way but failed to inform anyone. For this reason our first experience was ruined, 25 dollars for the ticket x3 and 28 for the bottle of wine - there are other local vineyards I would look into that dont need a pompous security guard to put your money at. read more

We truly love this place!! My husband and I have been here three times with different groups of people, who leave vowing to return ASAP! When you come here, it just feels like you're visiting a friend's house-so warm, inviting and relaxed. Dean and his wife are precious people; the kind of people who make your first encounter with them seem like you've known them for years! Dean sings, plays keys and guitar (a triple threat guy!) and he plays with such joy and enthusiasm! The food trucks on-site are wonderful (not included in the ticket price, but accept cash or card). The Barnhill experience overall was ok. Meaning the landscape and barn were beautiful. On the other hand the band was MEH. The actual music was excellent, but the lead singer left me with a bad taste. He butchered some great music. So, if you decide to experience this venue make sure there is a real cover band in the "barn" NOT the house band. read more

The only winery/vineyard that I have ever been to that doesn't actually make their own wine. Really, explore the barn, nothing to make wine in sight. The sub-par cover band is a front for the owner (who is also the lead singer every night) allowing him to expel his verbal diarrhea. On 80's night, just after your second glass of wine from a real winery, you might get a strange sensation. That sensation is your regret from paying $25+ to listen to a cover band that can make make any high school garage band sound like the Stones..(Tax Free). read more
