Correction: That may or may not be true, as I don't really know Lemon Grove's actual borders, so I may have spent time passing through here on the freeway without knowing it. It seems like a pretty run-down city. I'm all for a diamond in the rough and not judging a book by its cover and understanding and acknowledging an old place's charm or at the very least its onetime charm even if that charm has long since faded. I'm not even basing my review on how the city looks or makes me feel. This review is based on two things: the conditions of the streets in Lemon Grove, and its neighborhoods. I don't think I've seen asphalt is condition this poor anywhere other than abandoned roads, and even many of those roads had portions that were still decent. It feels like 70 percent or more of Lemon Grove's streets need their pavement replaced badly. I may be being generous. Why do citizens put up with this? I'm not talking about potholes; I'm talking about degraded asphalt that should have been replaced decades ago. I'm not exaggerating. Just based on that, I would never voluntarily live here. The neighborhoods are cute in an old-California spread-out kind of way. Not quite the 1950s, but the 1920s and 1930s, or at least what I know about them. There are lovely groves of orange and lemon trees in people's yards. Some of the houses are run down, of course, and some front yards are a mess. But other people take pride in their little pieces of the American dream, which makes the sorry state of the street conditions that much more depressing. I think Lemon Grove is my least favorite city in San Diego County.

The actors were great. The lines to get in are long but they have a process that works and it gets you through the line quickly. What a welcoming, motivating=, caring group of people. The support and love that came from that room was something to embrace. Not only for my friend who had reached the one year mark but for all the others who were in the room. They all seemed like a close knit loving family who would hold one up if they faltered. This would be a great place for a newcomer reluctant to attend a meeting. They would definitely find acceptance and comfort here.

Overview: affordable way to get married, the wait times are pretty long even with an appointment,…read moregreat amenities though ---- Came here for a friend's wedding and it was a pretty simple process, but they were running behind so we waited longer than the original time they were supposed to get married. We got here at 11:30AM, they signed some paperwork, then it was a waiting game with the ceremony starting at around 12:15PM. Thank goodness there's air conditioning inside and plenty of seating. Especially in Santee and this heatwave we are experiencing, the AC was an amazing relief. They also had a water bottle refill station and water fountain. I also realllyyy liked that they had free menstrual products in the bathroom (so awesome!). There was lots of people getting married that day with around 3-4 other couples getting married. We waited for our turn and when the officiant was ready, they called the names of the couple and then we went outside. The ceremony area was shaded and had concrete benches, the only thing is that other women people/families waiting outside had slowly congregated nearby and were a little talkative. The ceremony area is located to the left of the front entrance and provided shade so I understand people want relief from the hot sun, but o feel like there should be a sign or a small fence or something to denote that that's the ceremony area so that people are mindful. ---- Overall: a longer wait time than expected, great free amenities, and affordable things like getting married!
