Barone Meatball Company was at Dorthea Dix Park during the adult recess event. The staff is pleasant and professional. The food truck was clean, and the ordering process was organized - one line for orders and the other line for pick up. They seemed fully staffed to provide good service to all customers. I ordered the smoked gouda zucchini meatballs over pasta. My order was fresh. The meatballs and pasta were just as flavorful as they were satisfying. I would suggest less breading and more zucchini in the meatballs. Overall, I enjoyed the food.

Really good meatballs from this food truck. Got to try while they were at the Greensboro Food Truck festival....so it's nice that they do travel outside of the Triangle. What I appreciate the most was the "mix" option where you get 4 meatballs of your choosing for $12 - which to me, is fair from a food truck. Good sized balls, not too big (to where you'd think it wouldn't be flavorful inside), not to small....who wants small meatballs? The classic moms Italians meatballs were my favorite, juicy, saucy balls. The bacon cheeseburger was a surprise and was great. Buffalo flavor just ok.

Mom's Italian Meatball Sandwich. Seasoned beef meatballs topped with homemade marinara, with cheese. $10 + $1 = $11 before tax.

The Barone Meatball Company food truck stopped by my wife's workplace in Chapel Hill and she picked up lunch for us. I had the Mom's Italian Meatballs sandwich (hoagie) with Provolone ($10 + $1 for the cheese = $11 total before tax and tip). It was delicious and filling. A solid four-to-five stars. Really good. If you like meatball subs, you won't be disappointed. It was one of the best meatball sandwiches I've tried. Barone serves different types of meatballs, from Bacon Cheeseburger (beef) to Chicken Parmesan. They even make a Reuben meatball out of corned beef. The Mom's Italian Meatballs were seasoned beef meatballs that came with a homemade marinara. The meatballs were served piping hot and were nice and big. Jumbo size. They had ideal meatball texture to me, not too hard and not too soft, and they were packed full of wonderful, savory flavor. Very satisfying. There were three meatballs in my 8-inch hoagie and I believe the meatballs were grilled, though I'm not certain. Barone sells meatballs you can take home and bake yourself too. Aside from meatball hoagies, you can also get your meatballs served over penne pasta or inside a grilled cheese sandwich. All are the same price, priced by the meatball type. If you see Barone, they're definitely a food truck worth ordering from. Our neighborhood was lucky enough to have this truck come by a week ago. And we were smart enough to try them out. I got their Italian meatballs with marinara over penne pasta, while Husband wanted the Buffalo Balls sandwich with Pasta Chips and Marinara. Ordered at the truck and they are doing no touch for adding a tip when you pay. Didn't take long for our orders. Took them home and both of us were happy with our choices. My pasta came with three big balls and a reasonable amount of penne with a tasty marinara. The balls were very good (and I'm Italian). The true test is to save one for a cold meatball sandwich on white bread with mayo the next day and this ball passed the test with flying colors. (did add some crushed red pepper). Husband was busy and didn't even open his buffalo balls sandwich for awhile, but his reaction was "this is really good", and he polished it off fast along with the tasty fried pasta chips. Definitely recommend!

The food truck was in town at Poplar Grove at an event. There were many food trucks at the event but this one looked super interesting. We decided to try Mom's Italian Meatballs over penne pasta with marinara. Unfortunately they did not have garlic bread as a side, but had Pasta Chips with marinara. The food arrived fast and hot. There was plenty of pasta with marinara sauce and there very large meatballs. The meatballs were tasty, not a lot of fillers, and well seasoned. The pasta chips were very good. The chips are lasagna noodles, deep fried and well seasoned, served with marinara in a container. Their food truck menu changes frequently, but definitely worth a stop.

Four stars just because it seems to take a really long time for the food to cook; however, the quality is very good! I ordered the traditional meatballs and they were delicious. They offered vegetarian options, as well, which I thought was great. Since I ordered food when this truck was at the Italian festival, I liked that they offered just the meatballs as ala carte as an option so that we had the opportunity to try small portions at different places. This is also a great option if you couldn't make your mind up on the multiple delicious-sounding meatballs on the menu and wanted to try more than one kind. Also liked that you had the option to put them on a sub or a bed of penne.

Food trucks are honestly my new favorite places to try and eat some foods. This was the featured food-truck at Deep River Brewery when we came down to visit our friends in NC. It serves exactly what the truck says...meatballs. And they are some damn kick ass meatballs too! I ordered the "Black-and-Bleu Balls" sandwich (more like a hoagie type): Beef meatballs mixed with bleu cheese coated in blackened seasoning served with remoulade. I don't know if it was honestly my luckiest day...but I had been craving for cannoli lately and guess what they had for freaking dessert?! - You damn right....CANNOLIS!!!! I didn't want to ruin my dinner, so I decided on only one (original) cannoli to share among my friend and I. I picked up the hoagie in a wrapped foil and the cannoli and a plastic container. The black and blue meatball hoagie was delicious. I split it with the hubby and we were impressed with the flavor it had in the bite. The remoulade sauce was a great flavor touch to it as well. The cannoli was a great finishing treat and def hit my craving sweet spot. I didn't see that they also had feature the "key lime" cannoli as well - I will make sure that I give this one a shot (if I get lucky again for this food truck). Overall, the cooks/staffs on the food truck were friendly and quick, my choice of meatball was kick ass, and the cannoli is a must try for those who love sweets (and cannolis in general). Great food truck!

I was genuinely surprised at how authentic and delicious the food was. Elbow Macaroni in a chicken parm is odd, but overall some great food!

Food: 4 Service: 3…read moreAmbiance: 3 Date/Time: 9/28/2025 12:30pm Crowd: full bar, 1/4 full dining room Order: Turkey BLT, Philly sandwich This place is located just behind the gas station on the corner of Lynn and Creedmoor in a little strip mall. The business used to be a food truck only and they moved into this location and used the relatively small place to turn into a sports bar, keeping the "kitchen" parked outside in the food truck since the suite is an end unit. If you're a big sports fan, this place is probably perfect for you. It is set up with the bar to the far left as you enter, with a divider in the middle and then the dining area on the right of the divider....and TVs everywhere you look with signs indicating which game of interest each is tuned to. And, like most sports bars, the noise is set to loud. From the dining area, you can exit out the side to the mostly covered outdoor dining area which is where the food truck is parked, and where you go to place your order (not give it to your server who only brings your drinks) and pay for it. Also where all your condiments and napkins are located. For those of you who are not sports fans, all is not lost as the food is pretty good. Granted it's sports bar oriented but it's really pretty tasty. The turkey BLT is between large slices of toasted and buttered bread with a slightly light serving of turkey. The Philly is on a small hoagie and has some kick to it with all the jalapeños. Standard sandwich orders come with chips but fries are available for an upcharge. Service is, well, again it's a basic sports bar so don't expect sit down restaurant service but the folks are mostly friendly. Bottom line is if you love to sit at a bar, or eat grill food, and watch your favorite team on tv with friends, this place should satisfy you. For those who just want some good grill food, order out or if it's a nice day, sit outside where it's not as noisy.
