This place is great! Who doesn't love bbq inside of a gas station. Ordered the bbq pork sandwich with slaw, side of mac and cheese. It also came with a couple pork rinds and hush puppies. My partner ordered the brisket plate which was a special with a side of cowboy beans. The pork sandwich was delicious, as well as the brisket. I thought the mac was just ok, but the baked beans were phenomenal. Definitely would return.

Good food, friendly service, and inside a gas station! Everything is yummy overall except I wouldn't recommend the banana pudding which was two thumbs down, super duper dry. Solid sauces and pulled pork. The chicken sandwich was pretty good too. Meat wasn't dry. We got the chicken sandwich and the pulled pork plate and the side of beans, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and the stew. They both came with hush puppies and a choice of drinks. They hyped up the broccoli salad but we opted to just save it for next time since there's no swapping sides and you'd just pay the full price of the side not the difference. Mac and cheese was yum, so were the hush puppies, def loved the coleslaw. Not gourmet but solid food and nice people. Would definitely return! Even our dog was licking the dirt on the ground next to the smoker outside hahaha

Passed by this place for years. Thought it was a food truck. They have a kitchen that is tucked away in the corner of a convenience store in a gas station. This place serves up some great eats. The pork BBQ was nicely seasoned. The tang from the vinegar is offset by a hint of sweetness. The beef brisket special was fantastic. The meat was well cooked but had a nice chew unlike some brisket that falls apart. Platter came with slaw, a side and a drink. The potato salad was creamy and crunchy with some peppers. There are only two tables inside plus outdoor tables.Jessica was in charge of the food. She was friendly and helpful. This is an off the path find.

This business is located inside of a gas station. They do have a drive through but it was closed the day that I visited. I placed my order at the counter & it didn't take long to get my food. I got the BBQ chicken with Mac & cheese, hush puppies & coleslaw. The mac, hush puppies, & the mustard dipping sauce for the hush puppies were good. Some of the chicken was moist while other parts were a little dry and over cooked around the edges.

I'm so glad Offline Raleigh made me aware of this (conspicuous) place off Six Forks. I didn't have any idea it was there, namely because it's inside a gas station. But don't let that dissuade you! I got the pork BBQ platter which came with a spoonful of coleslaw, two hush puppies and two sides. I went with the broccoli slaw, which was delicious, and banana pudding. Hands down, the best I've ever had! It tasted like they'd added a pinch of cinnamon which gave it a little kick of sweetness. They do run out of food so don't wait too late in the day, and also check their site for when they're open as they have odd operating hours. There are a few picnic tables you can sit at when it's a nice day.

After checking out multiple other BBQ places around Raleigh, this place, HANDS DOWN, has the best smoked pulled pork! It's the western Carolina style BBQ with red vinegar - tangy and delish. It's inside the gas station, but don't be fooled. I will always recommend this place to everyone. It hit the spot for me. The pulled pork plate was only $11 and it's a good size portion. It includes a side, slaw, and a drink. Y'all. Go get your BBQ here.

First time picking up bbq from this place. It is unassumingly tucked into the back of a gas station on Six Forks Rd. Employees were super friendly. We picked up some pork bbq and fries to go. Pork was lean and tender with a perfect smoky taste. Several bbq sauces to choose from. I went with an eastern nc vinegar sauce, my fave. Crinkle fries were delicious, too! I will definitely be back now that I have discovered this place-- convenient and yummy!

I love BBQ but I cant eat pork. I know they have chicken but do they have beef brisket BBQ?

They do not have beef brisket, just the chicken options as far as non-pork goes.

Do they serve beer and wine!!?

    They don't! Just soft drinks!

As we were walking up my grandson said " this is a fancy place ". The decor is nicer than most bbq places for sure. I was surprised to see so many options that were not bbq and a large selection of sides. He got meatloaf with Mac and cheese and baked beans. He said it was the best meatloaf he ever had and this comes from a picky eater! He loved the Mac and cheese as well. It was a huge serving so I got to try the meatloaf and he was right. He didn't share the Mac and cheese. Neither of us cared for the baked beans. I had the brisket, Brussel sprouts and potato salad. The brisket was tender and flavorful. Awesome. The potato salad was ok but I didn't care for the Brussel sprouts . I would try two different sides next time. A basket of hush puppies and biscuits came as well. We were both so thirsty and I can report they had excellent sweet tea. Our server was knowledgeable and pleasant. The food came out faster than I expected. We will be back!

It took over 30 min to get a drink, and 1.5 hours for food. On top of that I order a basic grilled cheese sandwich and ordered it with American cheese. I asked the hostess if they had American cheese and they said yes. I then asked the server if they had American cheese and they said yes. Now this might be a simple item but my son is a very particular eater. After waiting over 1.5 hours the food finally came out and it was not American cheese. It was now 9:30pm and all surrounding restaurants were now closed. When the food was delivered, I told the server that it was not American cheese and she told me yes it was but then came back and told me they didn't have american cheese. In addition to that the meat was fatty and not very well cooked. What happened next really blew my mind. The manager came up to me and told me that they would not charge me for the grill cheese sandwich. This was her solution to a problem that left my kid not eating and no other options as we were visiting in town. I told her that there was no way I would pay for food we didn't eat. She didn't offer any other solution to the problem. Horrible management skills, didn't offer anything for their mistake and made it feel like it was my fault they screwed up. We should have listened to the bartenders at the surrounding places that told us to avoid this place.

What a fantastic lunch experience we had with Kelly as our server. We people-watched while we I enjoyed a smoked chicken salad sandwich that was so hefty, I brought half of it home. I took a seat at the outdoor bar and started with some smoked wings. 5 whole wings, so really 10 wings at most places. Meat was juicy enough, maybe I was hoping for more of a dry rub though. I used the tangy BBQ sauce and sweet BBQ sauce on them, and they certainly enhanced the flavor. I usually like mustard based sauces, but theirs was little more peppery than I wanted Then, per the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the brisket melt sandwich, and it was the undisputed highlight of the meal Muenster cheese, thinly sliced white onion, pickle chips, and a good load of horseradish sauce. The brisket had an amazing flavor, and all the other toppings came together beautifully. But that Union bakery bun is just another level. It's like brioche, it was so soft, but somehow a little more substantial. For my side dish, I went with the sweet potatoes with goat cheese, pepitas, and agave. This was just ok. For me, the potatoes could have been cooked longer, a little more crispness would have really helped. I did think the goat cheese was a unique flavor with a milder ingredient like a sweet potato, but it did work with the other ingredients pretty well. Only one unisex bathroom and it's small, so be warned!

I ordered a combo plate of chicken pastry and bbq pork, with sides of fried okra and potato salad. Everything was served piping hot, just as it should be. The Chicken Pastry (chicken and dumplings) had wonderful flavor and was comfort food at its finest with thick and wide chewy noodle dumplings. So often chicken and dumpling dishes can be overly salty but Ole Time Barbecue's was perfectly seasoned. The barbecue pork also had great flavor and also was seasoned perfectly, though unfortunately I can't do even the most mild of spicy, so even tho there were only a few red pepper flakes, they made it a little bit challenging for me to eat. The fried okra was cooked and seasoned perfectly and not at all oily and the potato salad was also really tasty. I also tasted their coleslaw and mac and cheese from Hubs dinner and both were delicious as well. Also loved their sweet tea, I got it 25% sweet . The biggest surprise was the large basket of tasty hush puppies brought to our table the minute we sat down, and refilled. Also delicious and seasoned perfectly. The location is very homey and diner like, with just a handful of tables so you may have to wait, though luckily we didn't. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was they served their sides in styrofoam containers versus reusable dishes like they use for their main courses. I do love that they're using reusable dishes for their mains so it seems like they could also do this for their sides. Less trash for the restaurant and better for the world... .

On this particular gathering, a group of 10 selected this location. No issues with seating. Similar to other bbq lodges, it's first come first serve and bench(?) moveable seating. Customer service was first rate and terrific! A solid, solid bbq option. I polled my family and other guest and everyone agreed it was absolutely delicious. Opinions: We thought the collards were a bit vinegary/sour (not an issue for me) coleslaw was coleslaw - perhaps a tad bit less sweet than at some establishments. Hush puppies sweet, light, and airy. Ribs: similar to homemade Pulled Pork: solid - delicious Sauces: Eastern NC (swine wine), BBQ, Hot BBQ, many others Overall: a delicious option. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh.
