Lost Sales Opportunity: I replaced a dishwasher and was pleased with the product & service so much so that a year later I engaged them again about my gas wall oven. The key pad didn't work so the oven would only broil. The person on the phone advised I had to replace the oven or repurpose the space. He enthusiastically suggested a wine refrigerator and scheduled an appointment to review my options. A young man arrived; confirmed the oven needed replacement so I mentioned how the phone salesperson had suggested oven or wine refrigerator replacement options. 1) Gas oven: He advised not to replace it with gas oven and didn't recommend and models. 2) Electric oven: He discouraged an electric oven because of the existing gas hookup. Again no models shared. 3) Wine refrigerator: This was my last option and suggested by the phone rep. He remeasured and said that would not work because of a baseboard kick plate vent below. So I asked what CAN I put there and he told me to "go look at the website ". I said, well if you don't have a solution, let's table that for now. I'm also in the market for a new refrigerator. What do you recommend for replacement refrigerators? Answer: "Will YOU make up your mind?!" I complained to the company via phone how the salesperson was not helpful. The person was rude and offered no apology nor to send someone else out. Solution: I contacted the gas oven manufacturer and bought a replacement keyboard panel for about $100. I installed it myself in 5 minutes. The original oven works like new. read more

I bought a stove about a month ago. I used them because they are local and close by (less than 10 miles) and I needed delivery. They gladly took my money and the sale and I still have not received the stove nor heard from them except for when they called soon after the sale to say they couldn't deliver due to road weight restrictions. I'm pretty sure the kitchen stove doesn't weight 6 tons but I'm not an expert like them. They suggested that I pick it up myself. like I said, I'm not an appliance expert but I don't think I can fit it into my small SUV or drag it into the house by myself. Horrible customer service and providing their existing customers the help they need. We bought over $6,000 worth of appliances and was talked into purchasing an extended service warranty to the tune of $750. They had no problem selling to us and delivering to our area, but the minute we had a service issue, we were told that they DID NOT service our area! We were NEVER told this when we purchased everything. I have had to find a technician on my own. it's been 16 weeks without a working dishwasher and no resolution from them. After purchasing a dishwasher and a new range, we had difficulty with both installations - no propane kit provided (we had asked for one) and no conversion. We called Baron's and they were very understanding THAD WAS GREAT!!!! He even filled out our rebate form and had it sent in!! Yay!!!!! Baron's agreed that we absolutely had ordered the correct part to have our new range installed and paid for an installer to come and do the job. Amanda was very apologetic and everyone was very helpful! We are hoping to purchase a new washer, dryer, and refrigerator in the very near future!!!! read more

Try it over the big box stores as communications and delivery was outstanding! My dryer finally but the dust. Shopped around and did a lot of comparisons. Was going to go with the big box stores but always end up disappointed. Did my own research and decided on the LG brand for washer and dryer. Called and placed the order with Joyce. Ease or order and delivery date given, copy of order emailed in minutes along with rebates that I wasn't aware of! She was clear with current stock and backorder dates. Delivery- you get texts and can track truck on exact location. Delivery crew super nice and install went very smooth. I found the entire experience rather refreshing and I couldn't be happier . Very disappointed and went with local dealer so if we needed service on our appliance, we would hopefully have a good experience. The purchase and delivery was great. We purchased a Bosch Dishwasher earlier this year (Spring). Dishwasher has been working great up until this week, and now getting an error that can't be cleared. The dishwasher is basically inoperable. Contacted their service group, and have been informed that they will not be able to get to my repair until December - a month a half?! Very poor service. Contacting Bosch directly at this time. If they can't fix, I will look at having them take the appliance back and I'll purchase a different brand and from a different dealer. I am in service, and if I told one of our customers we won't be there for a month, I'd be out of business. Heck they get angry is we can't get their in a couple days. read more

Wouldn't even give this company a rating. We spent over 10 thousand in appliances. Had on going issues with Amanda a sales associate and steve the Manager in Ossipee store. After they did an unacceptable job installing a new dryer with a kinked exhaust hose ( we all know it's number one cause of house fires). The manager thought it was fine ... called corporate office and left multiple messages and no one responded to my messages. Buyers beware . We purchased a very expensive washer and dryer from them AND the 5 year extended warranty as well. We have had an ongoing issue with the washer for a year or so, and have had repairs several times, but despite this, the condition persists. Our warranty was purchased just to avoid this and give us peace of mind. We have contacted Barons NUMEROUS TIMES, as well as their repair service. They have done nothing but blow us off, not returning phone calls and not honoring the warranty we have. We are disgusted and will NOT let this go. We are now getting ready to file a small claims case against them in our town. We have all our paperwork, etc., as well as proof of their indifference and refusal to handle the situation. After years of using the big box stores for appliances in our sale homes and rentals, I decided to try Baron's (a local store in Ossipee NH). Sales experience was ok -not great. After salesman enticed us with manufacturer rebates for high-end units we had to request the forms and rebate information numerous times. I felt as though once he closed the sale he had no interest in making efforts to help us. So now comes the delivery...delivery crew was friendly but there was confusion due to lacking communication with main office/sales group. Then we paid $100 to have them install the over-range microwave. It was not secured to the wall and after repeated requests they finally returned to fix it. There was also a dent on the door (installation), and the hood lights (2) did not work. Contacted our sales rep again (Steve) and told me to go to the hardware store and buy new lamps -frustratingly poor service. So now we will go back to big box stores -they are not perfect but their service exceeds Baron's. read more

Bottom line: If you are considering buying from Baron's because you fear that if you buy from Lowe's or Home Depot you won't get good service, forget it. You're better off buying where the price is lowest because the service you get is no better from Baron's. We bought a washer and dryer and refrigerator from Baron's. The door of the refrigerator was dented. Baron's installed the refrigerator and told us they'd send us a new door and then send a repair person to install the new door and remove the dented one. The new door arrived soon afterward. It was in a huge box. The only place we could put a box that size was in our entry way. I kept calling Baron's to find out when they'd do the replacement. They didn't have the answer. Finally I tracked down the repair people themselves and got a service date: Feb. 21. That was more than a month after the new door in the very large box was delivered to us. We got very frustrated with trying to maneuver around that giant box all that time. read more

After 32 years I decided it was time to get a new stove for camp. Went to Barons and made a choice with the features I wanted. They arranged the installation, removal of old stove and the gas hookup. Very pleased that they made it so stress free. Stove was delivered on July 3rd and noticed that the flame was a little low but thought maybe new regulations. The 20th I used the oven and the temp would not reach 300. Repairman was in the area came out and found that the regulator was defective and needs to be replaced. According to NH law I could not use the stove and the new part would be in on the 1st of August. I spoke with the store Manager, Steve, who told me that he could do nothing. I was shocked but he was not backing down. A few days later he called and said he would swap out the stove for a higher priced one, I would pay the difference but I also had to pay another $250.00 for the gas hookup. It is a camp, I was not paying another $300.00. I thanked him for his offer and declined. The top rack was also bent I asked if he could expedite the repair when the part came in and be sure the rack was ordered. I received a call yesterday and was told that the repair date that was scheduled for the 2nd was now cancelled and moved to the 14th and they would put a note to call if they had a cancellation. No mention of a note to expedite the repair. So, I am almost a month without a stove and who know if it will be repaired then. I called the store and told them one of the worse decisions I ever made was buying an appliance at Barons. Back to the big box for me. I came in ready to buy a fully mechanical Speed Queen washer. However, my research was very dated (I made my mind up years ago but didn't need a washer until now) and finding out that the current Speed Queens are not 100% mechanical threw me for a loop. I left without buying something. I went home and did some research and came back hoping to look at something else. I still couldn't make up my mind. I just want to say Amanda was really great to work with...even though she took my contact info, I didn't get any calls or emails pressuring me to buy. I returned yesterday after a few more weeks of research. I spent a lot of time looking at the different models, comparing Maytags to Speed Queens. Amanda answered all of my many questions and I never felt any pressure to buy. I did go with a Speed Queen and feel like I made the right decision. I had stopped at another appliance store and had a very different experience with the salesman, who made me feel like I was asking frivolous questions.
