They seemed to be professional or so we thought. Not quite a year later our awnings failed. It was very clear that they were not installed properly, we also had damage to the siding of our home. Although concerned we were shocked to be treated in such a disrespectful and rude manner. They actually refused to stand behind their work and tried to get additional funds from us. These awnings are expensive, were reported to be some of the best in the area. Our advice is to look elsewhere... they have the sale psychology down... how they stand behind their product and installation including the materials they use. Don't fall for it. Other installations near us have encountered the same experience. Poor installation practice and failures... only to be treated in a disrespectful manner with an outrageous estimate to fix the issue... And we thought they could be trusted and stood behind their work. They sadly do not... it is how they choose to do business. You will notice a 5 star review which is not accurate ... ours sadly is. The company cannot be trusted.

I did so, but ZELLE would not do an immediate transfer (two days). The bank provided him with legitimate confirmation of payment codes for proof of payment. He refused to accept them. At the end of our telephone conversation, he began to swear at me profusely and wanted a 100% money wire to cover payment. In the end, his poor behavior showed his true colors as a shady business man.

Name of the guy on Thumbtack who was supposed to visit was Elmer. The guy who showed up was Edvin with a business card having a different company name and a different phone number and he had very limited language skills. So there was something fishy going on. Second, there was a large trailer attached to his truck that had a lawn mower, a blower, various tools for basic gardening and yard work. He didn't even have a proper measuring tool to measure a surface lot with. He only had a basic measuring tape that you'd use to measure a cupboard. There was every indication that these guys were a "mow and blow" crew and didn't know much else.

Had Bubs out to fix two small leaks and prime our well pump. My mistake was letting them start…read morewithout asking for their rate or an estimate. Getting water running again was our priority but he suggested starting on the leaks. Not long after beginning, Bub's father told me they couldn't attach their fitting to the well line because water was coming through; realizing my well line is gravity-fed after beginning. I had to pull the well line above the water level myself before they could install a shut-off valve. My well cover is about 300lbs and the line is 8ft down. I'm not sure what their plan would've been if I was not there. After saying the water was flowing again, they later told me my pump was done for and not to run it. They quoted $925 for a new pump, not including labor. With two hours of labor, the bill also came to $925 and my family was no closer to having running water. The materials installed were six feet of copper pipe, several compression fittings, a shut off valve, and a pipe hanger. I called another plumber afterward, who knew right away (just from a phone call) that my pump was fine. He had it running smoothly in minutes by clearing a port of sediment and then adjusting the pressure switch. Bub talked a lot about his experience and showed up with help but needed me to find a way to stop the water in order to address the first leak and then either missed or ignored the step that would've gotten my pump working. Their website claims they're transparent and budget-friendly, but I wasn't told his extreme rate upfront, the bill wasn't itemized (still waiting 9 days after he confirmed he would), and I nearly paid for an unnecessary pump replacement. Leaving 2 stars because the copper work itself was solid, but charging $250 per hour for six feet of easily accessible pipe work feels unreasonable. Being given the wrong diagnosis on the pump was unacceptable and raises concerns about their expertise or honesty.

The project involved an enormous patio, gardens, irrigation, decking, stairs, granite steps, that circled a large house that ran up to to the house, down to a dock. The project involved much regrading of the terrain. It also involved paving with materials a long, rather steep shared driveway that was deeply rutted. We watched the project unfold over several days and were deeply impressed with the scope of the project. Wow. The workers were diligent and never stopped except for lunch. Their expertise came shining through on every aspect of the project. They used bobcats to remove big boulders. They had to cut into rocks in the existing landscape to make the terrain suitable for the patio that circled the house. It was fun to watch. All the while we looked at our tired patio and thought "hmmmmm". We asked our neighbor for an introduction to Tom. Such a nice man! Tom came over with one of his crew, and measured off our spaces, which ended up being a walkway, patio and driveway. It was pitched all wrong and they worked that out, showing their expertise. After seeing the quality of the workmanship next door, we were happy to accept Tom's bid. With the equipment already next door our patio and walkway were installed in a jiffy. It's beautiful. I've put a second story on a house, done a kitchen and a few bath renovations, gutted a small house, and done landscape jobs. Tom is the easiest, friendliest, professional I have ever worked with. If he doesn't answer the phone he calls back promptly. His crews can't be beat. There wasn't a hiccup in the project. I can't say enough about Landscapes by Tom and am pleased to whole heartedly recommend him for any job.

We had a wind and sun problem that no 11 foot cantilever umbrella could fix or handle. My husband went on a research path and found Rod and company. Andre came and told us about the awnings they install and how they are hurricane rated. We ordered it and literally the day it came on the truck they were ready to install it. They came mid-day on a hot sunny day and felt our problem as they installed the 500lb awning on the roof. Within five minutes of it being up, they even said they felt the difference. The installation crew was super helpful and showed me how to use all of the features before leaving. We wished we did this much earlier in the year. read more

I couldn't be more pleased with the awning we got from Awnings NH. We had considered a less expensive competitor, with awnings made in China, but opted for the better quality of Sunesta brand, which Awnings NH sells. The installers were competent, friendly, helpful. My one big beef with them is that they push spray foam... hard! (because it makes them a lot of $$$). What they don't tell you is about all the flame retardants & other PROVEN cancer-causing chemicals that off gas for decades after the install. My mistake, stick with products like mineral wool. None of these companies do an actual insulators apprenticeship, it's a "this is what my dad & grand-pappy did" mentality, & it shows.

P&R Services

I cannot recommend P&R enough and have been recommending them to anyone who will listen since they…read morerefinished my basement after a catastrophic flood. First, I received a call back after leaving a message immediately (like within the hour). I called 3 other contractors, 2 of them never returned my call and a third called back after P&R completed the work. Rick came out to my house the very next day to survey the damage and take some measurements. I had an estimate for the work within the week and they started working right after that. Rich and Jake made great recommendations for how to refurbish the basement (suggesting vinyl flooring instead of the carpeting). They installed all the flooring, repaired all of the baseboard, fixed the covering to a load-bearing beam, painted 2 rooms with 3 different paints (2 coats each) and even installed sump pump so that the flooding that happened will not happen again. They did all this work in 1 weeks time and at a great price. They worked hard and were willing to answer all of my novice, homeowner questions the entire time. Since this initial work we have had them reinstall a backsplash for out kitchen counters AND Rick came out on a Sunday, during an emergency where my power breaker was tripping every few minutes. You're simply not going to find a better contractor that P&R. My wife and I are putting together a master list of projects that we want P&R to work on in the coming years and are looking forward to having them continue to add value to our home.
