I've utilized SV Appliance repair 3 times over the past 3 years. The first time was for my fridge and it was expensive but my fridge was fixed right away in a timely fashion. The second time it was for my washing machine and they were unprepared, disorganized and lacked communication but it eventually got fixed and I forgave the issues because they were good the first time. This time was for my dryer. I called and explained that I replaced the 3 most common issues (despite none of them being broken) and checked the power to rule them out and believed it was the timer. He took my model and serial and said it would be a week and a half. If they had told me a week and a half ago, what they told me today, I wouldn't be annoyed: "If it is the problem you believe, we don't stock that part and we would have to order it after confirming the problem - $147. Then, you will have to wait a while till we had time to come back for more money $135 if you want us to repair it. But really, it's so easy, you could just buy it online cheaper and repair it yourself in a shorter time" - I would've bought it for the $55 I just found online, tried it, and then had the part ready for today if I couldn't figure it out. Today, I spent $90 for 15 minutes for them to confirm what I suspected and tell me the above. read more

Our upright freezer stopped working on Monday; I called SV REPAIR and they returned my call that evening. After asking a few questions, they "diagnosed" the problem, ordered the part and called Wednesday evening to make the service call. Just like that, we were back in business! Wow! Excellent service from these guys. We had a dryer giving an us error code and called these guys who got back to us same day (you can tell they are busy. They gave us a quote and were there within 2 days of the part arriving (a week from the initial call) despite their very full schedule. Zach the tech was in and out efficiently. Highly recommend these guys for your appliance repairs. Update: We used SV again for a different broken appliance two years later. My 5 star review remains. I've never needed to call appliance repair before in my life. I've fixed a few things myself, or it was time to upgrade in the past. I called around and the few people I was able to get in touch with were super busy. A few days later I called everyone back and added SV to my list who was a bit further from our property than the few I called previously. While SV was also swamped with work, they fit us in, diagnosed the issue, and came back the next day to work on it again, all while communicating with such clarity and transparency that I knew I was working with a good group of people. Our just barely over one year-old second refrigerator went down the day after a power outgage. My husband tried the usual checks (e.g., power cord, outlet) to no avail. We found "SV Appliance Repair" on a local recommended service providers list, so we called Tom and left a voicemail. Also completed a brief form posted on their website. Then Tom asked my Mom if she had anything else that needed fixing. She told him that her dishwasher leaked and he reinstalled it and fixed the problem. We were referred to SV Appliance Repair through the extended service contract on our Samsung refrigerator. The ice maker was acting up and failed so we called Tom and scheduled service. Tom arrived at our home on time and spent some time troubleshooting the refrigerator and needed to order more parts. On the second visit the new parts were installed in a very timely manner and we had ice again! Tom and his employees were professional and courteous and did not leave a mess. Very responsive! Very Professional, work late to get the job done. Very fair on pricing. They serviced our Electrolux refrigerator which was not keeping cold in the freezer or food compartment. On initial visit they reset the system Board and found no other issues. Solved the problem, but it recurred a few weeks later, and they replaced the system board for the cost of the board only. Then the problem recurred again a couple weeks later and they replaced the thermister which was now registering as defective. Again, no charge except for the parts which were surprisingly low.
