My recent two visits to Montgomery Cardiology were positive and reassuring experience. The combination of professionalism, compassion, inviting office and efficient care left me with a sense of confidence in my healthcare journey. I called and spoke with Monica months ago to schedule an appointment with Dr. Nikhar. Guess what? When we arrived for our appointment with Dr. Nikhar we had an appointment with an NP who was very good. She told us we NEVER had an appointment with him, we had an appointment with her. Watch out Maryland stay far away from this practice!!!!

I gave them my new insurance card that has the same member ID as the old one but a different group number than my old card. After my appointment, I noticed that my bill was pretty high and saw I was charged $176 without my consent. This seemed really odd and I called my insurance. I found out they used my old insurance information from my older plan that is no longer active. That's why I owed the full amount. I called their billing department and gave them my new insurance information so they could resubmit with my new insurance information. They said this could take a month or two to process. We're getting close to two months and I have yet to get reimbursed the $176. I was recently told by one of the billing people that one of my claims is in appeal and may not get approved which means I may have to pay the full amount. I told them this was unacceptable given this wasn't my mistake but theirs. This whole thing is stressful and should have never happened. The front desk people need better training because this was a super careless mistake. I'm dealing with so many health issues I really don't need to worry about something else. I get the sense they're short staffed and need to hire more people. I switched to Capital Neurology and Sleep Medicine. My experience here has been a lot better. The front desk people have done ok and my new doctor explains things in detail, is kind and friendly.

Thank you, Sarah for being such an angel. She helped me fill in the pertinent forms and take pictures of my id and insurance cards. Then, she took my medical background and I waited for an X-Ray. She was a saint. My provider, Dr. Tanya examined my foot. She was really fabulous and told me to wait until they could get it x-rayed. They X-rayed my foot and I broke it. : ( I now have a boot and a cane. Oh, not the look I was hoping for. I have to follow up with an orthopedic doctor. But, Dr. Tanya and Sarah were the best! Thank you, urgent care for making my visit a little easier and more comfortable.

BUT, THE CLINCHER WAS: the radiologist who took a few pictures and told me to get off the table and WAIT in another room to make sure the images were "ok". Wow, such stupidity and I told him " NOT MOVING!" Too much pain and knowing that I had a severe fracture ( just knew it). Not being disrespectful or difficult, HE ( the radiologist) already SAW THE PICTURES/XRAYS, and asking me to move! WOW! Ended up with 12 screws and a plate in my knee cap! For a Radiologist and MAYBE A PHYSICIAN to see these X-ray, I got a severe problem here as to how EVERYTHING was handled, being a recent retired surgical nurse!

Dr. Urquhart has a significant dance background, and that was important to me. For me, it speaks to a respectful, holistic approach, not centered on pill pushing or popular thought, and an intimate understanding of the mind-body connection. She tested me thoroughly and diagnosed me accurately. I found her to be a critical thinker and compassionate. She was instrumental in finding me find the best surgeons. Her staff is fabulous. Remember it is a stressful job dealing with sick people day in and day out, and helping them get insurance coverage! Well, they deserve a trophy for all the hoops they have to jump through for emergency procedures these days. I feel as though I could not be in better hands.

After researching online, I came across Dr. Sarah Rose's name when I did an online search. I was pleasantly surprised how close this practice is to my office. It's a 10 minute walk or two minute drive. Also, the office is pretty fancy with their coffee, tea, hot chocolate machine. I had to ask for assistance. This is the second doctor's office that I've gone to that is this fancy. Dr. Rose was gentle, which I appreciated as I hate all wellness exams that require any physical contact or pressure. She was also kind, patient, and thorough in her response and explanations. I am so happy to have found Dr. Rose and this practice.

She truly cared--she followed up herself, worked tirelessly for her patients & even called to remind you about your annual appointments. That kind of genuine care is long gone. My experience over the last two years has been terrible. Since they expanded, it's like they completely forgot how to treat their patients. They don't remember anything from prior visits, there's barely any follow-through & everything feels rushed & impersonal. Now, they've added insult to injury by announcing that they're going to start charging patients for basic services--things we can't even do ourselves. Even something as simple as a prescription refill feels like you're bothering the nurse or PA. It's crystal clear: they don't care about patient well-being anymore, they just care about squeezing more money out of you. And to top it all off, they had the nerve to send out this email announcing the new fees--while shamelessly promoting their extra services at the bottom. As if we'd want to pay for even more after being told we'll now be charged for the basics. The lack of self-awareness is shocking. I even went back & removed the 5-star review I once left. This office is not what it used to be--it's become disorganized, disconnected & profit-driven. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone anymore.

Clear Symptoms Completely Dismissed: No Diagnosis, No Treatment…read more I saw Dr. Monica Mannan when I was 19 in college for primary amenorrhea -- I had never had a period in my life -- along with insulin resistance, and other classic pcos symptoms. I was worried and didn't know what was wrong, and I paid privately because insurance would not cover the visits. Dr. Mannan ordered extensive testing, including large blood panels (around 10 vials in one draw), urine tests, screening for Cushing's, a pelvic ultrasound, and more. After all of that, she told me my hormones were "normal," said she didn't know what was wrong, and suggested the NIH. No clear referral was provided, no diagnosis was made, and no treatment options were offered. For a young patient with obvious symptoms, the lack of follow-through or basic clinical care was shocking. A few years later an OB-GYN diagnosed PCOS almost immediately and started treatment that finally initiated my first menstrual cycle. That was medically important because going many years without menstruation increases endometrial cancer risk, something that was never addressed during my care with Dr. Mannan. I am now older and still upset about this experience and the lack of PCOS awareness from an endocrinologist. I lost years dealing with symptoms that should have been treated much earlier. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this doctor.

Now I mostly telemed with her, but I go in once a year to see her in person. She always listens to you with an open mind. She spends as much time with you as you need. She never rushes you. If you need to talk to her, just make a telemed visit. It's the fastest way to talk with her. I value everything she tell me. Really excellent Dr!

Later, they had miss written a doctors note for me, and when I called back to correct it, they never returned my call, and established care elsewhere instead. Then they sent me a bill 3 months later, and when I called to pay it they left me on hold for 10 mins, then hung up on me. When they finally did answer the next time, the receptionist gave me a whole riggamaroll about how that isn't her job. I have no idea what your division of labor is, and I don't care. Then when I asked if she could confirm the balance, she kept talking over me and telling me I was yelling. At that point, I just hung up and figured out how to navigate their archaic website. The doctors might be fine, I could barely tell because I only got 45 mins of actual visit out of this whole fiasco. But I would absolutely not waste your time here.
