Mark showed up on time and was very thorough in walking my property and going over options. The other contractor stood me up two times! Keep in mind, I drive 3 hours to meet people. Once we got the permit in hand, I scheduled the drilling with Chris. He was up front and told me the lead time, which ended up being less then two weeks. On the day of the installation, Mark and Chris showed up exactly when they said' they be there! The were both very down to earth and professional while walking the property and analyzing how to setup their rigs. During the installation, I talked to Chris and Mark and explained to them that I never got to watch a well being drilled. The guys were very accommodating, they stopped work and would explain to me what they were doing, the challenges, etc. Mark even took time to explain when he uses certain supplies and how the other contractors will use cheaper supplies to pad their profits. At the end of the day, the guys knocked this 180' well installation out of the park! It couldn't have went any better and I couldn't have had two nicer guys. Apparently they expect you to be a psychic and know when your appointment is. SERVICE DAY & POST APPOINTMENT: On the day of service, they never showed up. I called to let them know that no one came to my appointment, where they told me they texted to cancel. I politely told them I didn't receive the text and asked if they can leave a voicemail next time. They said, "I did text you" and abruptly hung up on me as I was in the middle of asking to confirm the number they had on file. She was hostile from the beginning "hello." Shaking and appalled, called back and got a different representative. I filled them in what just happened, still shaking from the precious encounter. I also have been struggling with the toilet tank "guts" thanks to Martinsburg's hard water. I'd bought a new faucet and parts for the toilet, but after watching YT and assessing my space and my own abilities...chose to hire someone. Mark of Mountain View Plumbing gave me a quote based on labor/time for each of these. He's the owner/operator...something I like to support when I can. We scheduled for 9am, he called as he was arriving EARLY! Two hours and both problems fixed with parts I had bought to do it myself. He even fixed my tub/shower diverter stem I was starting to have issues with. We discussed a few hacks to get some more life out of the toilet as hard water is doing what it does. I then asked about my kitchen sink/drain and he verified that I can get RO and a disposal into that space. Now I just need to budget! As for his hourly rate, it is totally fine for skilled and licensed labor. He didn't nickel and dime for the little things he used (tape, etc). I appreciate that. I also know as a former business owner, he's covering travel costs, insurances, taxes, etc. with that rate. I will be using him for more projects as my own budget permits.
